Reviewed by joesmellor on 10/11/2009 The Cookie is terrible. It is a nice phone to use, but has serious reliabilty issues. I have had mine a for a while now and it is getting progressively worse. A problem has recently developed whilst writing texts, basically the screen freezes, does some weird stuff, then blanks or fades. Really, really annoying. Phone also mongs out when youg go to charge it... I would say avoid it. Rating:

Reviewed by Anon. on 04/11/2009 I've had the LG cookie for only 4 months now and i ABSOLUTELY HATE IT! If you're really into using the internet, e-mailing on the go, listening to music, texting or even just simply using a phone, DONT get it! It only lets you have a maximum of 250 texts in your inbox & 250 in your outbox (this may seem like a lot to some people, but it won't receive messages if you have over 470 in combined boxes. It turns itself off for no reason whatsoever, and freezes constantly. It is incredibly slow, and the e-mail function DOESN'T WORK! I am currently e-mailing LG to complain formally. The mp3 isn't bad, the volume is decent and the quality isn't bad either, but the fact that it's so slow means occasionally if you're looking for a song and try to select it, nothing happens for around 30seconds to 1mimnute, and by that time, you've pressed so many times, that when it actually does load, you've changed the song about 50 times. The QWERTY keyboard is a good idea, but the letters are so small, it's almost impossible to type by hand, and using the stylus is even slower! The main screen is a good idea, with a calendar, clock, photo slideshow, radio, music button etc, but even this fails to load often. My phone also has some "problem" where for an hour or longer, it won't receive texts or calls until i call or text someone myself. This is incredibly annoying as i don't know when it's having a "blank period" as it doesn't tell you. This means you end up receiving texts around 2 hours after they were originally sent. Although this doesn't matter so much, some of the English on the LG cookie is extremely poor. With the delivery reports on texts saying "report has been arrived" .. LG really did a good job on that?! Overall, i guarantee that after around two months, you will wish you hadn't spent your money on such a useless item. My old sony ericsson was much better, but unfortunately now i don't have it! Trust me when i say i was really looking forward to having this phone, and i'm not absolutely gutted that i'm stuck with it on contract for another 20 months! Rating:

I will never buy another LG phone, so its goodbye and good riddance to LG and their rubbish KP500 Cookie. Rating:
Reviewed by Andrew Jones on 03/11/2009 Bought the Pink version in July 2009 for my daughter who loved it, for a while. 14 weeks after purchase she said it was getting difficult to charge. Took it back to Carphone Warehouse who tested it and said they would repair it within 14 days. 10 days later they phoned to say the phone was ready to be collected, but they were sorry, it was beyond economic repair. They expect me to just accept that a phone I paid £77.95 for is only expected to last 3 to 4 months and then throw it away. I will visit Carphone Warehouse tomorrow to see if they have ever heard of the "Sale of Goods Act 1979" and amendments. Rating:

Reviewed by Not-a-Fan on 01/11/2009 LG Cookie is a rubbish phone. Mine came from Carphone Warehouse and they're rubbish as well. Reviewed by H on 31/10/2009 I have had this phone for 6 months now and have finally given up and gone back to my old phone (LG KF600 which I love). I am not a big camera/MP3 user, I just wanted a decent phone for making calls and texting and taking the odd picture. However, the touchscreen key pad for texting is tiny (not as large as the one on the LF Viewty), it is very easy to make errors, it is also very slow in responding and at times does not respond at all. I am not a heavy duty user (because I just can't be bothered to use this rubbish phone!) but I am now finding myself having to charge it every night as the battery doesn't seem to hold charge so, all in all, very disappointed after all the rave reviews and would definitely not recommend this phone to anyone. Cons: recently it randomly shuts down for a few minutes - doesn't lose any data its just a bit annoying! Also texting can be really slow to wait for it to catch up. There is no flash or zoom (unless you use a smaller photo setting). Plus the software provided has never worked on my XP pc. This phone is alright, but it is cheap and shows it. Reviewed by Sarah on 24/10/2009 Had this phone for almost a year now; I know it's late in posting, but what the hell. The phone itself is brilliant for the price (Got it early December last year), however I do have some issues with it: - Rebooting. The phone reboots itself when I turn it off and then on again. Occassionally turns itself off, despite the battery being full, and reboots. Gets quite frustrating as it deletes all my texts and settings. Thankfully it doesnt remove any pictures, music and contacts. - Slow response. The touch screen is fantastic when its working properly, but more often than not it lags behind what you are pressing, which can result in lots of blank texts as the 'Send' button is in the same place as 'Reply', just on the next screen. Texting on it however is fairly easy as long as you give the phone time to keep up. (Oh and for all of you that say your phone changes the language, thats probably a product of having pressed the wrong button while texting and selecting another language, the button looks like a globe, find English on it again and it should work fine) - Random ringing out. As one of the reviews below say, this phone isn't good in pockets, it somehow manages to unlock itself, go into your contacts and ring someone (Always been somebody on the first page for me), and put itself on loud speaker to announce that its done it. Being on PAYG this is quite annoying for me as I am being charged for calls I didn't intentionally make, but outside of pockets, this has never happened. Overall, apart from those issues, it's a nice phone, its loud during calls, it charges really quickly and the charge holds for quite some time unless making long or frequent phone calls. The texting interface could be improved (Send/Reply could be moved to save from blank texts while waiting for the phone to catch up), it would be nice if it didnt go to Keyboard mode while you have the phone sideways unless you want it to e.g. Texting while lying down. The calendar alerts could be more obvious, as I dont keep the calendar on my screen, it would be nice to get the alert for it though. The alarms/ringtones could be quiter, there doesnt appear to be a great deal of difference between Volume Level 5 and Volume Level 1. Another thing that bugs me is you can't plug your own headphones into it, and have to use those headphones to listen to the radio. The stylus, after extensive use, is irritating as it keeps falling out of the part its hidden in. The camera is also quite nice, but has to be held very still to get a good shot as it doesnt have auto focus, it also has a habit of rotating the pictures for no reason, even if the camera is held on the level. Overall, good phone, but I'd rather have my Samsung D900 back, despite it being a 'downgrade' to this phone. Rating:

Reviewed by Aleeshaa on 22/10/2009 This is the most tacky phone I have brought yet! As I am a girly girl I decided to buy it in pink, howvever, whatever colour you have it in it looks cheap! The case is plastic and I was ashamed to pull it out of my pocket on the bus! The price is low, for a reason. Its not that great. Texting is slow and prediction isn't any good either! If you are in a rush, this phone is the worst to use. When photos are taken, it takes at least 5 seconds to take and then looks blurry. I wanted this phone for fashion and looks but it can't even achieve that! I am truly dissapointed. I got exited by most of these reviews, as I thought it was all true, obviously not!!! I am not a negative person but this really shocked me! My two best friends have it in black, and they are dissapointed to put it at the least too! They have exactly the same faults I was experiencing, exept they got cut off their picures and vid's aswell! They had it on Vodafone, and one on T-Mobile, and both companie s handn't a clue why it happened. They hadn't damaged them at all too! The icing on the cake for me was how both companies refused to refund, and told them it was their fault. I'm sorry to say but it is an utter waste of money! I'm using the Samsung Tocco in pink right now and have had no problems, it doesn't look tacky either, its glossy, quick and does what its SUPPOSED TO DO! Unlike this faliure of a phone they call the LG Cookie. I am truly dissapointed In LG, I knew their phones weren't that good quality but this is just ridiculous. An absolute waste of money and time! It's very light, has loads of features and I love the stylus and keyboard which have speeded up my texts and other inputs immeasurably. You can adjust text to as big or small as you like but for me the basic 'medium' is crystal clear. I really like the speed dial tabs and widget which holds your favourite applications - all up front and so easy to access. I take proper photos with a proper camera but am surprised at the quality from just 3mp. You can't however, zoom at this resolution, nor send the pix without reducing them. It's taking some time to load the correct settings for picture messaging, email and the web. Got the latter, not the first two, so far. No problem linking to my pcs. Rating:

Reviewed by swans on 18/10/2009 this phone is average because it's a nice slim phone and it's got loads of gadgets, but it keeps knocking off and freezing, and one time i received a text message and the screen went blue and kept vibrating. Rating:
Reviewed by james on 18/10/2009 I bought this phone and at first i really liked it, but after a while i found some problems, because the screen is not just human touch sensitive, it reacts to all objects so when it is in your pocket it has a tendency to unlock itself and call people, and since i dont have much minutes i cant afford to be wasting them. Also when writing a text message the phone doesnt always respond to the touch and this can lead to mis-spelt words which happens very often. This had potential to be a great phone but they just need to work on the day to day uses of it instead of tryin to pack it with tech that may not all be used Rating:
Reviewed by sonyaa on 18/10/2009 ive had this phone for a while now. its a good phone , but as i get bored easily, this phone isn't one that will keep youu intrested for more than a year. i like it, don't get me wrong. it has everything you need. it has internet, camera, calls are good, easy to text , ermm cube type motion, good music but you would need a memory card. the only things i would complain about is that the internet takes a while to load so its annoyin to have to wait for it. the camera is only small 3.0 and itss a bit basic. you can't do much in the dark which is annoying. it sometimes goes blue an you have to restart the phone completely. apart from that , the phone is quite good :) Rating:
Reviewed by Jes on 18/10/2009 Being on o2 makes no difference to the performance of the phone. I'm on o2 and the Cookie I bought in Feb 09 was terrible, it froze out on almost a daily basis and the battery had to be removed to get it to function again. Cheap and pretty but not a serious contender for "phone of the year"! Rating:
Reviewed by Polly on 17/10/2009 Bad bad bad phone, screen keeps freezing in text mode. Does not like to sync with outlook and camera is awful. I would not recommend this phone.....unless you are just looking for one that's pretty to look at. Rating:

Reviewed by lewis on 16/10/2009 ive had this phone since january, no problems whatsoever! Everything works as it should, and i'd agree being on o2 seems to make a difference oddly enough. Ive got a 4gb memoy card installed with all my music on and granted, it takes a little while to boot the music player but when you've got over 500 tracks im not suprised. Brilliant phone! i guess you guys got the reject models... Rating:
Reviewed by lauren aplin on 15/10/2009 the good thing about the phone is it is all touch slim design and comes with a stylus so if you have chubby fingers and keep pressing the wrong button you can use the stylus to make it easer to use and it has a lot of good features the only bad thing is that if its in your bag and it clashes against something it can turn on. Reviewed by Tim Taylor on 15/10/2009 It's not as good as that Had mine now for five months and am really frustrated by how slow it is to react to the touch screen (2-3 seconds wait) how fast it reverts to screen lock mode (±10 seconds)which is a pain. Also the software USB link gives my PC a bluescreen crash so often I don't use it anymore, so can't sync or backup or load music or download photos or....well you get the picture. Rating:

Reviewed by MN on 13/10/2009 Simply a terrible phone! LG caught me once, never again! And, don't buy anything from Carphone Warehouse because if it goes wrong BEWARE, they won't replace goods after they are 28 days old. I had to sue them in the County Court before they finally paid me out with a full refund and all my costs. It took 6 months of them ignoring my letters before I went to court. Was it worth it? For the satisfaction of proving them wrong, Yes! but had the phone worked properly in the first place I would not have had to put up with the hassle. Rating:
Reviewed by Sara Leslie on 12/10/2009 My friend bought this phone, and I played about with it for a few minutes and thought I'd get it too. Usually I do a bit of research on phones I'm about to get to make sure they will last me the year I usually keep them for, but the Cookie was a complete impulse buy. I didn't know the Cookie touchscreen wasn't very responsive and was hard (for me) to text on, or that the camera was probably worse than the LG Chocolate I had three years ago. There were some good things, but mostly bad for me as I didn't check to see if this was the phone for me. My experience with LGs is that they look pretty but aren't all that great once you press 'power on'. Rating:
