It is a good phone tho! I would get an LG just it's not really suitable for texting a lot so i will get a samsung soon!

All LG Cookies have the same faults? Everyone can't be wrong. Don't listen to those who say the cookie is good...cos it ain't. The screen freezes, texting is terrible and the camera is definitely first generation! My phone came from carphone warehouse but they always say we can only repair it if it is over 28 days old. The manager told me the company wouldn't allow them to say anything other than offer a repair. He told me this phone is clearly the worst mobile for faults he has had to deal with in 5 years of working for CPW.

at first i found the phone difficault to use and navigate but with a little practice i soon became comfortable with it. My biggest annoyance is with texting, it has an annoying habit of deleting words for no apparent reason which means every message has to be "proof read" before sending, very annoying.

I bought the LG COOKIE just aster Christmas, I was worried because there was a lot of bad press about the phone but at £50.00 it was cheap. Carphone Warehouse also convinced me the problems weren't that bad! But now, after only 2 months the faults have got worse and it has already been in for repair once. Carphone Warehouse won't replace it and they don't want to do anything other than take it in for repair again! It might only have been £50.00 but I'm entitled to a phone that does what it is supposed to do.... aren't I! DON'T BUY THE COOKIE (unless you like to spend a lot of time getting nowhere with the robots who work in Carphone Warehouse, who do not want to sort out the problems)

My one is really beginning to annoy me. The touch screen barely works when you try to use your finger which means you have to always take out the stylus which is really stupid and annoying. I find that when typing with my finger, the curser moves back a few letters, and other times half way through a word it no longer recognises it as one word, so the word predictions don't work. This all happens only when I use my finger instead of the stylus. There's also the stupid, obscure socket it has for headphones, power and USB. I can't plug any set of headphones in unless I have the adaptor, I can't use someone else's charger if I don't have mine one me and I can't move songs on and off because, helpfully, it didn't come with a USB cable (probably a one off because it came with the CD). Apart from that, I guess it's useful in that I can talk to people who are far away...

L G help line gave me wrong number to call regards repair and when I got through to the people I needed to talk to they said it was not covered by warranty and quoted £70 to repair each phone.. ( they only cost £69. ). Back in touch with LG but told to go back to retailer and try to claim from them. I will but I cant see them very keen to help, but we will see. This phone is a novelty. Its fairly good value and can be fun to use but.....here lies the problem. Im on my second LG Cookie (I wouldn't have got the second if I had a choice) and there is little point in having a cheap phone if it does not work! It is noticeable to everyone that it has inbuilt faults in the software that leads to it crashing randomly and not turning on (at this point it can only be solved by shop repair). These get increasingly worse with time so i suggest you stay away from the cookie or any other LG phone because LG are not interested in putting the faults right!

Today I bought the LG COOKIE, I was worried because there was alot of bad press about the phone. However despite the bad reviews this phone is a very good phone for the price ( carphonewarehouse-£50). This is my first touch screen phone experience & my second phone I have ever purchased. The phone itself is lovely; it's stylish and perfect for any teenanger or adult who wants a flashy, simple yet stylish & hard-wearing touch phone. The first thing that hit me was the screen as I am used to tiny screens, it was bright and big which is good as I have glasses and usually had to squint with my old phone. It's quite an experience, people in other reviews said their phone "froze" and their touchscreen "broke" but this is not the case as the users probally handeled the phone roughly. The text is a bit fiddly but you get used to it and can change to "keyboard mode" with the help of the stylus. Overall this is a good phone, with this phone however I would advise you to buy a cloth as touchscreen phones get smudges & a protective case to aviod it rubbing against keys e.c.t . The screen is big so it's quite an experience using the internet, the phone itself is like a mini internet ! The software only allows you to open one window at a time which is fine, but unpratical if you are multi tasking. You can fit on 6 to 7 songs, I would advise you to buy a 2 gb memory card as you can store 300 photos, videos and songs. With 02 your texts are 10 p and 25p for picture messages. When you enter your contacts don't go to the hassle of typing in every name, connect your phone to the computer and you can type your contacts in ( for more details look at the guide book when you buy the phone) Overall I will give this phone 5 stars, I will update further if there are any problems, which are very unlikely. So If you see another review below this one made by me then you know this phone is faulty...but so far it is excellent. This review was made by a 13 year old .

I have finally given up with my LG Cookie. I loved the style of the phone and bought one about 8 months ago. Since the first wicked factor it has been very hit and miss as to if the phone was going to work. It seems to have a mind of its own and simply turns off. Therefore it is not reliable and I have missed important calls. No more phone gone and I have gone back to Samsung. Sorry LG a good start but not very good if you actually want to make and receive calls.

I thought it was good at first. All the features seemed cool, and it's a cheap alternative to the Iphone (minus the apps). People who give this 5 stars are doing so after a short period of time, however after a while the phone starts to become faulty. I constantly get an error message "Not enough USIM space, delete texts", even though i have deleted all my texts. I had to send it back to LG for a software update. This worked for a month before the same error message started again. The camera works sometimes, and other times gives error message "conflict with gallery" and will not let you take pictures, even though i have an empty 4 gig card in it, so loads of free space. The screen lock unlocks itself too easily, so i have phoned people by mistake many times when it's been in my pocket or bag. This phone is totally random. It works sometimes, and not others.

(The texts and numbers are there for the actual texting and phoning - the numbers are virtual, if you get me)Also, you can get a deal which means texting is always free but phoning obviously costs something. Overall, I'm considering buying this phone or the LG Cookie Plus, an upgraded version.

It takes ages to get to where I want to be to send texts etc and forever to try and connect to the internet... The battery life is rubbish and it hardly gives any warning of imminent death. The buttons take some ferocious pressing to get to work and sometimes it decides it's not going to light up at all for hours at a time - can't switch it off, can't get the touch screen to work, nothing. It seems good and the spec is alright, but I'm going back to Nokia or Sony Ericsson as soon as I can!

And that is about it for the good points And the bad pionts are: -The touch screen on the handset is definately the worst touch phone i have ever owned -i had £20 pounds credit on the phone and i confirmed this with the network i was on at the time and it wouldnt let me call or text to other networks. When the phone was fully charged i turned it on and it turned off again almost instantly therefore i could only use the phone when plugged into a mains power sullpy. all in all this is the worst mobile phone i have ever purchased in the whole of my life and i have had around 15 PHONES IN MY LIFETIME NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL

I bought this phone from my catalogue on special offer. I thought it would be a good phone for everything I needed. Hmph!! Now it is 4 months later and I am giving up. It sends out blank texts, the touchscreen is unresponsive and often it takes me ages to text with it. But for me the worse thing is the battery life. I have always cycled my battery for maximum time, but the stupid thing tells me I have 2 bars left out of 3 and then less than an hour later when I want to make a call the phone has switched off with no battery. I can be making important calls and the next thing the phone has cut off mid call with little warning.I am disabled and cannot afford to be stuck without a mobile for safety reasons. I asked my husband top buy me a cheap Samsung from o2 for a tenner with very long battery life and will happily use my iPod Touch to do all the other stuff the cookie does. No point being able to install iPod videos onto the phone when the battery life won't allow yo u to view them. I will give this phone to my 10 year old, as it is only fit for her!!

This phone is awful! basically: -The touch is pathetic, you have to press really hard, then at random times it will become sensitive, at times when you're sending a text, so you'll accidently send the text, and there is no way of cancelling it. -THEN, when you're typing in text on prediction, it will decide which word you want, and won't let you have it. for example, i was typing 'astro' short for 'astroturf' and it came up with the suggestion astroturf, but i didn't want that, but it made me have it! -THEN. it will give you two texts at a time, which is very irritating. -it will ring people on it's own when you don't know, which wastes all your credit. -the camera sound won't go off, even in silent mode - the screen freezes, then when it's un froze will have a spasm and open everything -when you try to go on camera it always says 'error, conflict with gallery, cannot open' -then when you try and open the gallery it says 'cannot open conflict with camera' -you'll then try to get onto something and it'll say 'too many applications open', this is even when you're just on the homescreen, i don't even see how you can be doing more than one thing on a phone. - you have to press the unlock button for ages when you want to unlock it. -it's really slow at everything - events and things are never saved when you press save, and if you put an alarm, it never goes off -it's ridiculous, seriously and it's not just my phone, about 4 of my friends have had this phone, and have all said they hate it, and are all swapping it. i've now got a new phone, a better phone. the only good points about this phone, is the lightness, the size, and the drawing pad on the phone. the rest of it is useless. pssfttt, i wish i hadn't of rushed to buy it now!!!

I didn't want a touchscreen phone after using my brothers iPhone and a couple of others, but this seemed like the best phone available on the contract I wanted. I should have stuck with my original thoughts. This thing is terrible. It's slow, unresponsive, and annoying to use. My last phone was a Nokia N81 and that was 1000 times better than this. It doesn't recognise half my mp3s, the headphone socket is fiddly and awkwardly placed (broke 2 headphones in less than a month) and it's very slow to update music. The text system is so slow and seems to delete half of what you write. I've had the phone 6 months, so this is a fair review, not just a day like some of the others, I thought it was pretty good for the first week or so. The only good things are that it's got a good battery life and is pretty tough (I've lost my temper with it and hit it quite a few times). I'll put it this way, I came across this site while I was looking for a replacement to see out the rest o f my contract. Back to a Nokia or Sony with buttons for me

Do not buy - awful! Headphones are rubbish and do not fit comfortably in your ears. My phone regularly locks with an error reporting that too many apps are running, when in fact there are no apps running. Only option is remove battery and restart. Texting, as reported by others, is extremely frustrating and you just give up. Calls which require some automated dialling functionality are a nightmare as the screen keeping shutting down. I regularly spend 2 to 3 loops trying to get through to the correct department. For those who being refused an exchange, I can provide the following advice. Your statutory consumer rights are not effected by individual store retail policies. To be sold in the UK, a product must be 'fit for purpose'. Check out the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) for details of your consumer rights. There is also useful information on Martin Lewis 'Money Saving Expert' site. Do not be fooled into thinking you have to accept a repair from LG just be cause the retailers says so. You do not have a contract with LG. You have a sales contract with the shop, from which you purchased the phone. If the phone develops a fundamental fault which prevents it operating correctly within say 12 to 15 months of purchase, I'd insist on an exchange or a full refund. If a retailer wants to send it off for repair to the manufacturer that's matter for them, but they undertake that task after supplying a refund. My usual approach in such matters, if not offered the satisfaction of either an exchange or refund is to put the matter in writing to the retailer's registered company office address by recorded delivery. Its unlikely you'll get a reply, so give them fair warning that if you hear nothing within 28 days you'll pursue the matter through the small claims court. At expiration of 28 days and still no satisfactory outcome, complete your on-line forms for the small claims court (part of the county court). You'll either get a full re fund when the summons is served on the retailer or you'll get to enjoy your day in court and get your money back plus expenses and costs. Most people do not need a solicitor for this process and can complete the forms and present there own case. Courts are the avenue of last resort and you will need to convince the judge that you gave the retailer various opportunities to give you the refund or replace the phone - keep all correspondence and write down the details of any calls with time and dates. Good luck, and don't buy this model of phone in the first place if you don't want the hassle.

I don't understand who is writing these 5star reviews about the cookie - I had this phone for a week and I couldn't take it back and wanted to cry! It is IMPOSSIBLE to text with, slow in responding - not intuitive touchscreen. Stylus is kinda stupid if you need that to text as it takes longer. Sometimes you just want to send a quick text and say something like 'I'll be there in 5mins'. With the cookie, sending that text would take you about 7/8mins simply because the text touchscreen is soo frsutrating! I put up with it for 6 months then went back to my good old Nokia. Then, i STUPIDLY (STUPIDLY) went and just got another LG - the GW300 because this one was meant to be easier with texting. What a nightmare! Easy to text with, alright but everything else is worse than the cookie. I was speaking to my mum this morning on the phone and she had to repeat everything because the phone is so fuzzy it sounds like you're listing to someone who's speaking through foam. What's worse is that I read the "5 star" reviews on here before buying this phone. What rubbish! I've spent far too much money on LG phones now and I think I'll be sticking to my Nokia and other decent maufacturers because they make phones, not fashion statements or copy cats to Iphone like LG seems to do.

Well personally, i really think it's an awful phone. It sends/recieves texts multiple times, unlocks and calls/texts people when sitting on a table/in your pocket, the battery life is terrible, it freezes, alot, or holds the button youve pressed and so then will send a blank text if you've just pressed reply, and the camera takes terrible indoor photos. HOWEVER, outdoor photos are pretty good, it looks quite good, pretty easy to use, it's seemingly indestructable. its been wet/dropped countless times but still working how it was when i first got it.

Since may i have had 5 replacments phones and most of them have been sent off to be fixed, the battery life is rubbish and needs to be charged everyday, the touch screen goes after like a month and therefore leaves you with problems texting and calling people etc, my phone wont tell me who is calling me the screen just goes black with a little phone symbol in the top corner, when im writting a text the phone will write what it wants to write and will delete random letters or words that i have written, i cant always access the internet even if i have full siganl, my camera doesnt always work, it turns itself off all the time, if i read old texts it will tell me its from someone else not the person who sent it to me ( can be very embaressing thinking your texting your loved one back when it goes to your mum, or reading a text that only a loved one would send you but it says mum etc) all in all this phone is rubbish and a watse of money. i no of 3/4 other people who have this phone and they have the same proplems!!!!!!!!

I bought this phone for my daughter on 19th December as a Christmas present! What sort of guarantee is that? Reading through this and other reviews about Carphone Warehouse it seems they are only good to deal with if you have a phone that works okay and obviously the LG Cookie is not one of those. When trying to sync appointments from Outlook into the Calendar - via the abysmal PC Suite software - it doesn't syncronise across the Locations - meaning I know what I am supposed to be doing - but I don't know where. Coupled with the fake front screen which is trying to emulate the Samsung series of phones - resulting in there only being 5 or 6 widgets available - all of which are basically useless (for example - there is no weather widget) and to cap it all - you cannot add your own ones onto it. Rubbish - pure and simple

This phone is by far the WORST - yes worst phone i have ever owned. Was so excited at getting it for £49.95 from CPW, couldnt wait to try it out, after however about a day i realised it wasnt as good as what i thought it would be. There is at least a 4 second time delay between switching screens, which is very annoying, the camera is terrible and especially with no flash. Also, the phone kept switching itself off all the time and whenever i switched it back on, things had been wiped ie if i had saved a new phone number onto my sim card - it wasnt there anymore, or recent text messages. And as for texting, its horrific. I used to be quick at texting but it honestly took me about 5 minutes to send a one line text message. Dont get me wrong, the music players not bad, quite good sound but thats the only thing thats good about it. After a week, i took it back to the carphone warehouse who happily exchanged it for another phone. I'm now back to using what i love - the new samsung S3100. I refused to accept a repair! and finally after writing to them (I never received a reply) I decided to sue CPW in the county court. Easy process done online at a cost of £25.00. CPW were found to be at fault and they ended up paying me out nearly £200.00. That covered the phone purchase cost, all my costs in returning to the store, (taxi's, etc) letters, postage, out of pocket expenses and the court fees. I hate this phone. I see in some reviews that this phone is described as 'funky' which means absolutely nothing. I was very disappointed with its functionality in use. What moron designs a keyboard that locks up after a few seconds while you are thinking which key to press next? This makes it very difficult to use the ubiquitous menu menus … press 1 for sales, press 2 for complaints … etc. Despite the screen locking up it frequently unlocks itself in my pocket allowing loose change to dial unwanted numbers. You are only aware of when your pocket shouts hello who is that. It has a nasty habit of switching itself off without letting you know, so you are expecting a call and there is no indication that it is dead. The battery indicator is inaccurate, showing 75% charge when suddenly it will beep a couple of times and expire. The Bluetooth function causes it to reboot when it first tries to connect to my satnav and it has its own weird plug for the rather cruddy earpiece so with no 3.5mm jack you can’t use a decent earpiece. The radio is good and easy to use, the camera is rubbish producing smeary pictures and the movie function jerky. The supplied software only works occasonally and then doesn't allow you to list things you might like to see. In all it’s a horrid phone that I wish I had never bought.

The camera isn't too bad , but it either doesn't have a flash or is very hard to find as I ave found it yet. My only disappointment with it is that sometimes the touchscreen doesn't pick up letters when you're writing a text and is slow to show it on the screen. The texting is also quite hard to work sometimes, as the touchscreen doesn't always so what you want it to.

And if your speaking in terms of the touch screen, its terrible, i wouldnt reccomend it, only would if you prefer a low quality touch screen and camera, its response is very poor. Although there are some excellent things about it and thats the sound/music. I mostly use a phone for music not as an actual phone and this phone is one of the best touchscreen phones for MUSIC. Proper loud volume, excellent sound quality, or else not so good as an actual PHONE. I've ordered the Samsung Tocco Lite and thats the LG Cookie's rival but i have a feeling that thats going to be a much better touchscreen phone than this one.

Here Are My Thumbs Down! 1.Poor camera and video 2.No way to add or change themes 3.Poor sound playback from built in speaker In all I wanted a good touch screen phone and found it, I am not too bother by the camera because first and foremost I want to use for texting, calling and emailing which it does perfectly. No problems here with freezing or poor battery life, I have also been able to unlock it (even accepts 3 mobile sim card using 2g) and update the firmware quite easily and totally free.

Constantly turning itself off and every so often it likes to reset itself when it does so, wiping everything off. It also freezes alot and the touchscreen doesn't always work so you can't use it. For texting it is appalling, so if you think switching to predictive will save you time - think again, it doesnt remember any of the words you have previously typed in if the mobile has been switched off at any time. Basically don't buy it.

Poor phone. I was fooled by people's positives reviews. Maybe they are trying to kid themselves that they didn't waste their money? Where to begin? The PC software is over the top, bulky, slow and very frustrating. PCs won't detect the phone without it installed. It takes minutes to send MBs across the USB. Not to mention the USB cable will cut off the connection if the phone moves slightly, due to poorly designed ports. Sending texts are a nightmare. The predictive texts is useless, the letters are too small, it randomly deletes words and it's impossible to use with out full concentration. You get to the point were it's just not worth replying to friends. The headphones are shockingly poor. Not that you'll want to use the media player. The camera is poor quality and has no flash what so ever. There is also a good 4 second delay after taking a photograph. The phone is generally slow, laggy and unresponsive to touch, so don't expect to do anything in a hurry. Not to mention the 'double text' problem. When I receive texts, I get it twice. This means I have to read through them both to get rid of the annoying unread message warning. The only common link I've noticed is Orange texts to an LG phone. Not sure how anyone can like this phone, but then I see some of the 5 star ratings are from people who haven't even received the phone yet. Avoid at all costs! Go with Samsung or Sony Ericsson.

Wouldnt be a problem if you dont use it that often like me 2) The colour. The main bar at the top is dark red. It would be much better if you could change this colour because to be honest, its not a great colour. 3) The sound. The quality through the earphones is faultless, but when played outloud, its a bit tinny and sharp. Again, not a problem if you wont be playing it outloud Everything elese is good! Especially customer servie, maybe they were good just because its christmas, but first impressions were good. This phone is not a good choice. As well as the absence of features such as the lack of connectivity with no wifi etc. the features supplied are second rate, the camera has no flash no focus no zoom etc, touch screen is poor... There are some horrors like an unfinished manual (only affects those that actually read) and trying to get the phone connected to a PC. No doubt it is possible to hack through all the problems but there are better ways to waste your time. There are some kids type of features such as being able to add artwork to a picture (heart stamps or text) and maybe that is the point. It is a telephone for kids. Don't let the 'grown ups' try to persuade you otherwise. Couple of points. It is better for people to discuss what they achieve with the phone rather than regurgitate words from the manufacturer web site. Second if you are not actually challenged or (semi?) illiterate spare a thought for those reading your text speak as we are not all accomplished translators. If you think the phone is pretty and you find it hard to resist try to borrow one for a couple of days. If after two days of use you still like it ask your mum or dad to buy it for you.

The camera although 3mp feels pretty basic too. Also had problems with the phone deciding to turn itself off randomly. Unlike other phones I've had, you can't really customise much in the way of themes or colour schemes etc which is a tad boring... Battery life is absolutely dire as well. Wish I'd got the Samsung tocco lite like my brother, which for pretty much the same price seems less cheap and nasty, more touch responsive and generally more fun and easier to use. I've had this phone about nine months and im now getting a new phone for chrismas, the sony ericsson c902.. this is because my lg keeps feezing and the screen will go all fuzzy then it will turn off and not come back on for a few hours, the touch eventually got annoying, at first i thought it was amazing 'wow a touch phone' but then you miss buttons!... everyone i know that has this phone cannot wait to get a new phone. they also miss buttons. When i try to send things to my computer using the usb cable sometimes when i want to click the file im using, my phone cuts out and then i have to delete the file before i can do anything else. But the battery life is very good. Can go about 5 days without charging and i use my for calling, texting listening to music and its all good. The camera is OK. only bad thing is it dusnt have flash, this phone is not bad. but i wouldnt recomend it. YOU WILL MISS BUTTONS!

I have had this phone since the beginning of January this year (2009) and I can say I am very pleased with the quality of this phone. It has many features which make the phone attractive to people of today whilst also ommiting features that bring the price down, again making this phone even more attractive. I like to concept of the phone but it has irritated me a few times, for example, when I write a text, and I get a text from someone else, I read their text and choose to reply to it, when I do however, and write the text, it sends the message that I was typing to the person before I recieved that text! So effectively I sent the wrong text to the wrong person! In addition to this, my phone has a tendency to turn itself off for no apparent reason, and once, I had my phone off in my pocket, and when I got it out, I found that my phone had turned itself on and becuase I have made the phone ask for my pin number, it locked itself (I had to phone up O2 to sort it out)!. So as you could imagine I have gotten very frustrated with this phone, but at the same time, I love it as well. So in all it would be beneficial for those people who want a touch phone but not those expensive high-end ones, whilst at the same time the phone also looks very fashionable. Highly recomended, but beware of the problems, like the ones I had!!+

This is the WORST phone I have ever had, I'm on contract but instead of taking my upgrade I went out and bought this phone out of my own money and it was the worst decision i have ever made. i have had to send the phone back on 3 occasions within the past 6 months due to the screen freezing, the screen going completely blue, everything overlapping on the screen and the phone constantly switching itself off. But instead of getting a replacement they just kept fixing the problem for it to happen all over again a couple weeks later, so in the end i have given up on the phone and have resulted back to using my trusty samsung d900 until i'm due another upgrade. so a word of advice DON'T BUY THIS PHONE !

This phone was really fun, practical and easy to use. I recommend this to everybody on a budget and those who love phones that are different. You can get these really cheap as well, about £50 and certainly worth every pound. A good camera, with excellent editing software, hours of fun! A decent music player (however memory was a bit dodgy but is expandable)Texting is sometimes a challenge, I found sometimes I was sending empty messages and being charged for them sometimes. The easiest mode of texting for me was the qwerty keypad and found in easier without the stylo. The writing text input is a bit of a challenge/waste of time because it never recognises your handwriting and is a bit of a hassle. The appearance of this phone is nice, however the pink version starts to look a bit tacky over time. Settings are user friendly, big icons so you know what you are selecting, lots of fun, unusual applications to play with and internet use is good too. Calling is also a breeze with this phone. Battery life is not as good but okay for a phone of this price range. Overall i do strongly recommend this phone for everybody.

Its not too bad you know. Yeah it freezes a bit. But when playing music its quite good and sometimes if you take a picture then look at it in the gallery it may go blurry but if you wait about 2 seconds it goes back to normal. It does call people in your pocket but just keep it on lock or turn it off! And no i dont think you can put the camera on silent, ive looked on alot of websites trying to find out how you can, and there's been no answer except "you cant" not even when you plug your earphones in! But if you're looking for a phone to last you a while, its quite good because i have dropped it so many times, i have dropped it in water aswell! But i left it to dry for a day and it works fine! The internet isnt bad, it takes about 10 seconds for a internet page to load depending on the size. Sometimes the software on the laptop and phone goes funny because you have to close all programmes on the phone before your phone will connect to your laptop/computer. The battery doesn't last long. In the shop i was told it shoulod last about 2 days. But it doesn't especially if you're playing music or taking pictures. Sometimes you get a blue box thing on your screen, but if you take yoru battery out and turn it on again it will work fine again. So not a great phone, but not a terrible one either : )

The screen is prone to freezing and the only way to release it is to remove the battery - very frustrating when you are looking for a contact number or texting in a hurry. I found texting very frustrating full stop. The camera has no flash and you have to reset the settings everytime you use it otherwise all you will get is black and white or grainy pictures. The battery life is very short, and you get about 6 mins warning that the battery is low before it switches itself off. I bought it only seven weeks ago, thinking it'd be superb but it was my biggest mistake ever,I'm afraid. It looks classy,agrred--has all the "gadgetry" that would probably mainly appeal to very young teens up to early twenties or so but as a reliable and easy-to-use item,it is anything BUT. Texting is an absolute nightmare and battery-life is very limited too. The camera has no flash and doesn't take the best pictures in the world in any case---you have to be in a really clear light to get a decent pic and even thenn,it takes more than one attempt. The Nokia is just superb by comparison--camera with flash and wonderful photos and the easiest phone in all the world to use! Well,at least I gave it a go but it was the most expensive mistake ever, especially as I then had to purchase another phone but as I'm so very happy with my Nokia I'm just cutting my losses and appreciating the best. Why put yourself through the stress of perservering with trying to get to grips with something fiddly to use when you can have something so much better if yiou can afford to replace it,of course. I will say that as regards the LG Cookie, though, that the great size of the screen means that when you DO get a nice photo eventually,it shows up wonderfully but for me,that was really the only good thing about it in the end. Hope this proves useful and maybe gives food for thought if yu've not already taken the plunge and bought it but if you have and are disappointed, give the Nokia a whirl,I'd say!!!

Do not get this phone! It is slow and buggy - there are so many better phones on the market. Firstly, it often turns itself off for no apparent reason, and when I turn it back on everything has gone back to default! The background is the flower one, all my texts have been deleted, my internet bookmarks have gone, the backlight, auto-key lock and touch response have gone back to as they were when I first got the phone etc etc... So that's incredibly annoying! Secondly, the touch screen started being sluggish after a couple of weeks, slowly deteriorating. Now, almost a year on, texting is a nightmare as it sruggles to keep up with what I'm tapping, scrolling is very slow and sometimes you end up clicking on something by accident when scrolling. Thridly: texting. I'm not sure if it's the same with all touch phones, but when I type a word (I use predicted text, I would die if I didn't have that to aid me) then hit the next letter or space bar, it erases the full word, meaning I have to type it out again. It sounds like nothing but when you're in a bit of a rush and your words are constantly being erased it does become a tad irritating. Also, since the Cookie doesn't have 3G, the internet is pretty pathetic. It takes about 25 seconds for one page to load (I've just counted) To some this may not sound that much, but compare it to a general broadband speed which is often under 1 second, it is a LONG time. It's not just my network either, I have tried other sim cards and there's no improvement. Other bugs that crop up from time to time: sometimes the backlight doesn't actually turn off, no matter how long it is set for; everytime I turn my phone on the welcome screen pops up and it tells me to calibrate my touch screen - and this is not supposed to happen; when I set it to have no annoying little ring when I turn it off, it still goes ahead and blasts out a 'lovely' little tune, the only way to get around this is to put it on silent; the internal memory isn't even 1GB; it only stores 200 messages in your inbox and sent messages, meaning you have to delete your texts fairly regulary, and you can't save them elsewhere - goodbye favourite text messages! So generally, it is so not a good phone. A few good points: the touch screen isn't ALWAYS slow, it's sometimes fairly fast; it looks really classy and dead pretty; the stylus makes it easier when on the internet, although the tapping will annoy people around you; and the virtual qwerty keyboard is a nice touch, even though I rarely use it. I guess you get what you pay for. In the end, I think the moral is, if you want a good, touch screen phone that is going to keep you happy, go for a more expensive one, especially since contracts these days are more like 18 and 24 months long.

I love this phone. It is FAB. You have to get the memory card though, or your not gonna get much on it. It has everything you could want for a phone, especially at a cheap price. Its stylish, easy to use and fun to use as well. But the one major let down is the fact that it loves to turn itself off, even when your halfway through a text, and the it resets all your settings and wipes all your texts, so when you turn back on, it will start up the same as it would if it was a brand new phone. This is annpying as you have to put your ringtones back and change all your wallpapers and so on. But all in all, I love it. But only buy it if you have the patience not to throw your phone on the floor or at walls.

I've had the LG cookie for only 4 months now and i ABSOLUTELY HATE IT! If you're really into using the internet, e-mailing on the go, listening to music, texting or even just simply using a phone, DONT get it! It only lets you have a maximum of 250 texts in your inbox & 250 in your outbox (this may seem like a lot to some people, but it won't receive messages if you have over 470 in combined boxes. It turns itself off for no reason whatsoever, and freezes constantly. It is incredibly slow, and the e-mail function DOESN'T WORK! I am currently e-mailing LG to complain formally. The mp3 isn't bad, the volume is decent and the quality isn't bad either, but the fact that it's so slow means occasionally if you're looking for a song and try to select it, nothing happens for around 30seconds to 1mimnute, and by that time, you've pressed so many times, that when it actually does load, you've changed the song about 50 times. The QWERTY keyboard is a good idea, but the letters are so small, it's almost impossible to type by hand, and using the stylus is even slower! The main screen is a good idea, with a calendar, clock, photo slideshow, radio, music button etc, but even this fails to load often. My phone also has some "problem" where for an hour or longer, it won't receive texts or calls until i call or text someone myself. This is incredibly annoying as i don't know when it's having a "blank period" as it doesn't tell you. This means you end up receiving texts around 2 hours after they were originally sent. Although this doesn't matter so much, some of the English on the LG cookie is extremely poor. With the delivery reports on texts saying "report has been arrived" .. LG really did a good job on that?! Overall, i guarantee that after around two months, you will wish you hadn't spent your money on such a useless item. My old sony ericsson was much better, but unfortunately now i don't have it! Trust me when i say i was really looking forward to having this phone, and i'm not absolutely gutted that i'm stuck with it on contract for another 20 months!

Took it back to Carphone Warehouse who tested it and said they would repair it within 14 days. 10 days later they phoned to say the phone was ready to be collected, but they were sorry, it was beyond economic repair. They expect me to just accept that a phone I paid £77.95 for is only expected to last 3 to 4 months and then throw it away. Had this phone for almost a year now; I know it's late in posting, but what the hell. The phone itself is brilliant for the price (Got it early December last year), however I do have some issues with it: - Rebooting. The phone reboots itself when I turn it off and then on again. Occassionally turns itself off, despite the battery being full, and reboots. Gets quite frustrating as it deletes all my texts and settings. Thankfully it doesnt remove any pictures, music and contacts. - Slow response. The touch screen is fantastic when its working properly, but more often than not it lags behind what you are pressing, which can result in lots of blank texts as the 'Send' button is in the same place as 'Reply', just on the next screen. Texting on it however is fairly easy as long as you give the phone time to keep up. (Oh and for all of you that say your phone changes the language, thats probably a product of having pressed the wrong button while texting and selecting another language, the button looks like a globe, find English on it again and it should work fine) - Random ringing out. As one of the reviews below say, this phone isn't good in pockets, it somehow manages to unlock itself, go into your contacts and ring someone (Always been somebody on the first page for me), and put itself on loud speaker to announce that its done it. Being on PAYG this is quite annoying for me as I am being charged for calls I didn't intentionally make, but outside of pockets, this has never happened. Overall, apart from those issues, it's a nice phone, its loud during calls, it charges really quickly and the charge holds for quite some time unless making long or frequent phone calls. The texting interface could be improved (Send/Reply could be moved to save from blank texts while waiting for the phone to catch up), it would be nice if it didnt go to Keyboard mode while you have the phone sideways unless you want it to e.g. Texting while lying down. The calendar alerts could be more obvious, as I dont keep the calendar on my screen, it would be nice to get the alert for it though. The alarms/ringtones could be quiter, there doesnt appear to be a great deal of difference between Volume Level 5 and Volume Level 1. Another thing that bugs me is you can't plug your own headphones into it, and have to use those headphones to listen to the radio. The stylus, after extensive use, is irritating as it keeps falling out of the part its hidden in. The camera is also quite nice, but has to be held very still to get a good shot as it doesnt have auto focus, it also has a habit of rotating the pictures for no reason, even if the camera is held on the level. Overall, good phone, but I'd rather have my Samsung D900 back, despite it being a 'downgrade' to this phone.

This is the most tacky phone I have brought yet! As I am a girly girl I decided to buy it in pink, howvever, whatever colour you have it in it looks cheap! The case is plastic and I was ashamed to pull it out of my pocket on the bus! The price is low, for a reason. Its not that great. Texting is slow and prediction isn't any good either! If you are in a rush, this phone is the worst to use. When photos are taken, it takes at least 5 seconds to take and then looks blurry. I wanted this phone for fashion and looks but it can't even achieve that! I am truly dissapointed. I got exited by most of these reviews, as I thought it was all true, obviously not!!! I am not a negative person but this really shocked me! My two best friends have it in black, and they are dissapointed to put it at the least too! They have exactly the same faults I was experiencing, exept they got cut off their picures and vid's aswell! They had it on Vodafone, and one on T-Mobile, and both companie s handn't a clue why it happened. They hadn't damaged them at all too! The icing on the cake for me was how both companies refused to refund, and told them it was their fault. I'm sorry to say but it is an utter waste of money! I'm using the Samsung Tocco in pink right now and have had no problems, it doesn't look tacky either, its glossy, quick and does what its SUPPOSED TO DO! Unlike this faliure of a phone they call the LG Cookie. I am truly dissapointed In LG, I knew their phones weren't that good quality but this is just ridiculous. An absolute waste of money and time!

It's very light, has loads of features and I love the stylus and keyboard which have speeded up my texts and other inputs immeasurably. You can adjust text to as big or small as you like but for me the basic 'medium' is crystal clear. I really like the speed dial tabs and widget which holds your favourite applications - all up front and so easy to access. I take proper photos with a proper camera but am surprised at the quality from just 3mp. You can't however, zoom at this resolution, nor send the pix without reducing them. It's taking some time to load the correct settings for picture messaging, email and the web. Got the latter, not the first two, so far. No problem linking to my pcs.

I bought this phone and at first i really liked it, but after a while i found some problems, because the screen is not just human touch sensitive, it reacts to all objects so when it is in your pocket it has a tendency to unlock itself and call people, and since i dont have much minutes i cant afford to be wasting them. Also when writing a text message the phone doesnt always respond to the touch and this can lead to mis-spelt words which happens very often. This had potential to be a great phone but they just need to work on the day to day uses of it instead of tryin to pack it with tech that may not all be used

It's really pretty and if you just want a good-looking phone then you won't go far wrong with it. But the touch screen is unresponsive, the phone deletes words and parts of words while you text, it freezes constantly and sometimes decides to reset itself after its been turned off so I have subsequently lost photos, numbers and texts that have been stored on the phone. The camera is nowhere near as good as I'd like it to be (though I am comparing it to a Sony Ericsson Cybershot, which is what I had before, so I may be being more harsh on the camera than necessary). So many "actual" users have found this phone to be anything but "cool" and they can't all be wrong. I got rid of my LG Cookie some time ago whilst under warranty because it was always failing and it turned itself off, sometimes during a call or when about to send a txt. [Editor's comment: Dear Darren, thank you for spotting Georgia's review which should not have been published and has now been removed from the site. This is the most frustrating phone I've ever owned. Scrolling on the touchscreen is completely unresponsive so finding a contact in your list is a massive frustration. The phone reboots itself whenever it fancies, often when receiving a text or more annoyingly a call. On several occasions when making a call, the person I've called has been unable to hear my voice and the T9 dictionary won't allow you to save words. Ignore the positive reviews here, those people clearly haven't spent enough time with the phone.

If they refuse an exchange or money back write to them first to tell them you expect them to honour their responsibilities in law. I have to say that this phone is simply fantastic for its price range. Since my father has a Samsung Tocco, i can safely compare it to that, and my thoughts are that the cookie is much easier to use, and the touchscreen is far more precise than the tocco. I've yet to come across any of these reported software glitches, and the only minor downside i've found software-wise is that there doesn't seem to be much in the way of extra applications or widgets to download from the internet. Hardware-wise, it is perhaps slightly under-equipeed in some aspects, namely the photo/video, but is still perfectly adequete. This is a perfect buy if your budget doesn't cover an I-phone

This mobile is brilliant, the features on this phone are brilliant and when you go on the internet it’s not that slow its pretty fast, and the sound quality is amazing you can have it really loud so if you’re on the bus you can have it turned up very loud. I brought this from Tesco Mobile and it only cost me £84.97 and it was £94.97. Also I would say I prefer this mobile to the Samsung Tocco Lite, I feel like Samsung have copied the LG Cookie version and I hate it when company’s do that. Moving on, when people say that the Samsung Tocco Lite is a better than the LG Cookie they are both identical and I would say the only big difference between these to phones is that the Samsung Tocco Lite has up to 7 hours of Talk time and the LG Cookie has 3.4 hours of talk time. So that’s all I got to say. The LG Cookie is better than the Samsung Tocco Lite.

Currently, the one I have likes to switch itself on and off all the time, and the touch screen is slower than most phones such as Samsung Tocco. I guess if you're patient you will like this phone a lot, but if you require fast phones, than i really don't think this will work for you. The texting actually drove me crazy, it was too slow, and sometimes unresponsive, and dictionary doesn't save any words on mine, so all I do is call. There is a lot of glitches with this software, probably because of high expectations. Kinda disappointed.

If there is one thing i can do living on this earth, it is to persuade you not to buy this phone! I bought the LG cookie about 5/6 months ago, having read numerous postive and negative reviews. I had immediately fell in love with it, and no bad reviews were going to put me off. The first month or 2, the novelty of a touch screen is at its element, your continuesly parading it around showing off its sleek look which i dont mind admitting it is. Then After the first few months, trying to live with it is sheer hell, you cannot text more then one page, because of the patients you have to muster up! The touch screen is pathetic and you have to tap it two or even three times for it to register. The T9 mode (predictive text) thinks that 'elephant' is more of a common word then 'and'. You are unable to turn off the bleeping sound that chimes when any text is sent, recieved, drafted, or any setting have been changed. The icons on the screen are so small the only way to click them is with the pen. Which if your like me seems a bit ''uncool'', it also takes time to take it out of the side with in which its wedged in. There are many, many, many other faults with this phone, but i dont want to waste time listing them as it depresses me, i would rather spend my time more productively stamping on this phone! Another side note, is the positive reviews for this phone, were again probably posted in the first couple of months of the consumer using it. Please take my advice you will only regret it down the line. Buy a Nokia, samsung, Iphone or even a donkey in africa, all of these things are money better spent.

The best and only good thing about owning this phone is thinking of ways you could END it. I've had this phone since May, and at first I loved it, it was my first touch screen. But now I am fed up with it, thereis nothing wrong with the phone, its me missing texting with buttons, wish I'd stuck to Sony's, only thing that put me off was a bad experience with the w910i, I loved that phone, except for its many faults. The cookie doesn't have as many features as Sony's, for what I use it for anyway. And as for the dictionary, if you have added a word that end in s for example phones, but the next time you want to type the word phone, it doesn't let you do that, it only comes up with phones, if you try seleting the s, you have to add the word phone to the dictionary, this can get a tad annoying rather quickly. Also you cannot text quick with it on a bumpy bus ride, you end up hitting the wrong touch buttons. The qwerty keyboard can only be used with the stylus unless you have really small fingers. I love the fact that its a loud phone and you very rarely miss a call, it has good music sound, but everytime I play my music I have to go to the music icon and press my playlist and then click shuffle, the shuffle option never stays on, so having the music widjet on the home screen is no god because as soon as you turn your music off the next time you go to play it you have to go back into music and go through it all again setting it onto shuffle. If anyone knows a way around this please do tell. Some features of the phone I think was put on just to bluck it out, the drawing panal for instance, I have yet to find a use for it.

Bad points : Awful battery life of around 3 hours , turns itself off on a regular basis , when you have it connected to your pc putting files onto it and you recieve a text the actual phones screen goes blue, the cookie regualry freezes up on the widget and speeddial screens, it is a very slow phone at times, the motion senstive actions like the games and turning it sideways to activate the QWERTY keyboard ,is exceedingly unrepsonsive at times. To be honest , im appalled how they can sell a phone with this many faults. Spend you money else where. I reccomend not to get this phone at all, for about £50 more you can get a preowned blackberry curve, or much better phones, for the same price you can get a sumsung tocco lite (which is far superior , my friend has one so i have sampled it's greatness.)

i got this phone about 6 months ago and its terrible. Firstly, texting is an effort, you touch one letter and the one beside it is put ino the text. Secondly, when making a phone call it cuts off the call against your ear. If this doesn't happen, there is a microphone mute button which can catch against your ear and cut off your voice. There is also very little amount of settings. It is impossible to apply pictures to contacts in the phonebook or add personalised ringtones. In addition, the touch screen is VERY SENSITIVE and it calls random people from your phonebook by its self if the phone is in your pocket. this sint very good if you run a buisness through your mobile, liek me. I would not recommend this phone to any one.

I think most of those who give 5 stars have either never ever used this fone or they have the newer model, with the software upgrade, where the early faults have been resolved? In my view there are more negatives than positives so for that reason I binned mine....and as far as Carphone Warehouse is concerned they must be the worst retailer in the country.
