The phone is not very good. I have had it for a month and the screen has already broken just after someone punched my bag and the phone was in it. I would not recommend it. It is very slooowww.. there is another screen with people and it's really annoying. Don't buy it.

Its amazing to see what a vast and mixed array of comments there are on this phone. I actually rather like mine. I send alot of emails and often enjoy using social networking apps whilst on the move. And for these functions its fantastic. The built in browser is lousy so dont even bother trying it. Just get opera mini and if you cant quite push the button on screen with fat fingers then the directional pad will snap to quickly! Wonderful phone, for social networking emails and even reading a book. Dont bother with it if your intrested in games or music.

Ive had this phone for two months now and its getting on my last nerve . i find the messaging is rubbish on it as when i write a message and try to send it it does not do anything and i had to repeatedly turn it on and off to get the message to send. it also sends me messages that i have already been sent as new . it also does not receive new messages until like 3 days later. it freezes alot. i really like the keyboard on it and i have just sent it away to be fixed but im just waiting on getting it back and it breaking again ..i do not recomend this mobile ...i would buy a nokia

I've had this phone exactly 2 weeks and i can list you 5/6 things that have gone wrong with it already. 1. when viewing messages as threaded, after i reply and close the keyboard away the screen scrambles for a few seconds. 2.my external buttons stopped working. 3.my touchpad stopped working 4.my battery sounded like it had an electrical fault 5.I couldn't send tet messages. as other people have said it registered that i pressed send but wouldn't send the text. 6.tried deleting all my texts and the phone got stuck in a delete cycle where i had clicked cancel and then it came up with the deleting screen again then i clicked cancel again...same thing happened. I've owned 2 lg phones before, one worked amazingly for over a year before it turned itself off. the other lasted 2 months before the camera corrupted. I think i will stay away in future as this many problems in 2 weeks is not acceptable.

I've had this phone since last September. I bought the white version. I have had no problems with it. The battery life is fairly good and it is easy to use. I bought it purely for the qwerty keyboard but have found it easier to use the touch screen as the buttons are very small.

I Guess this phone is okay. For all the people who say they cant send messages as the send button does not work and you keep getting the same messages over and over with a kind of sim card image next to it, its a matter of waiting a day and deleting all your messages and you will be able to send again. There is alot wrong with the phone.. Completly dies and freezes when open your music player, no idea why.. Screen freezes alot and occasinaly goes blue(Taking battery out will do the job though) Theres no flash which is not good, even though the camera is good. No stylus which would have been handy. Dont really like the cheap looking plastic cover.. but it is strong which is good, there are good points also, when the music decides to play the sound quality is very good. its easy to use if your a new member of the touch screen community so all in all its more thumbs down then thumbs up.

I bought this phone, and I think its really good. The only problem I've ever had with it is that the main memory isn't very good, but Micro SD cards come really cheaply (I've got one ordered). Before I bought it I wasn't sure about it as the reviews on here had put me off but its really good, the best phone I've had. Also some people are saying the touch screen is a problem, I didn't find that but I did get a Nintendo DS pen to use as I thought it looked cool ;) But really, I could use it fine without the pen. Hope this helps, happy GW520ing! ;) x

I just bought this phone today after weeks of deciding and I am really happy about it. I've read some bad comments on websites about this phone and the reviewers who post these always seem to be on Orange. Piece of advice: don't get it Orange if it seems to orange-ize everything!! I've got mine o2 and I think everyone knows o2 is a reliable network. Anyways, this phone is great and I don't why I thought twice about getting it!

This phone, on Orange is Terrible. Simple as. Okay first the good things. The keyboard and the fact I broke it today so I get a new phone. The bad things. The fact it's an LG. Everything lags out when you use it, the screen randomly blacks out, the phone does not feel that well built. The fact Orange have customised everything on it, making it even harder to use. The internet browser on the phone is on of the worst ever. The screen scratches easily. If you get signal then you're lucky. I could go on all night, just avoid this phone.

These reviews are confusing me; theyre either outstanding or terrible, which makes no sense. I have had the phone for three days now, and although it occasionally crashes, which is quite an annoyance, it generally performs well, and i'm in love with the task manager feature. One slight problem is that the camera and gallery cannot be open at the same time so you have to exit one properly before you can use the other. Other than this, the LG GW520 is overall a good phone - the handset isn't too bulky, or heavy and the touchscreen is easy to use. The keyboard is an excellent feature which is you'll be quick to become accustomed to. I would recommend this phone to most but if you get frustrated over things freezing/crashing etc. I would recommend you looked elsewhere.

I have this phone on an Orange 24 month contract. I've only had this model since November 2009 and this is the 3rd replacement handset i have recieved. Within a few weeks the 'live square' feature was not updating properly, after complaining to my service provider they advised i contacted LG as it was a feature on the phone itself that was not working, i phoned up LG and i was told that my service provider would be able to exchange the handset and this was when i had the 1st replacement handset. About a month after this, the new handset wouldnt allow me to send text messages, the touch screen was not responding when i clicked to send, so i complained to my service provided and they exchanged my handset again also the 'live sqaure' again was not updating correctly. Coming up to february 2010 and i'm on my 3rd LG GW520 handset, the live square still doesnt work, my messages are sending, but for some reason a few of them save into my drafts after sending aswell as going into my sent items. The signal on my phone is terrible, sometimes my fone doesnt even ring, it goes straight to voicemail. So in conclusion this phone is rubbish. Rant over =)

I have the problem of it not letting me send texts, i've only had the phone since beginning of november, just before christmas i had to send the phone off for repair, as replacing my sim card did not work, and it worked fine but it has just started again and not letting me send a text unless i take the battery out and put it back in, also since i got the phone back i can only take roughly about ten pics before i have to delete them all before i can take anymore, and i know it use to hold more as i took about 45 pics in one go on bonfire night and more after that, i'm going down the phone shop to change it to a completely diffrerent phone.

I got this phone for christmas 2009, and me being a teenager. wanted a phone to mostly text on and instant message and facebook with. The LG GW520 fitted my needs perfectly. The phone itself looks like a normal (but thick) touch screen phone similar to the LG Cookie. I got the black one and it's an alright looking phone, it's not going to win any awards however. It has a 3MP camera and the quality is good in lighted areas but in darker areas it is awful. The music player is functional and easy to use. The Memory card slot supports up to 16gb i think. I have a 4gb card in mine. The headphones, when i first saw them i thought that they were going to be a pain to wear and listen to music with, but they're actually quite good. Sound quality isn't great but it's not bad either. The QWERTY keyboard is amazing. I can text as quick as i can type but people with either small hands or big fingers will have trouble. Overall i give it 9/10 because it's a great phone. but every phone has their flaws. and the gw520 has one. The screen gathers fingerprints like nobody's business. So it's best to get a case and/or screen protector. Great phone with great features. It doesn't have videocalling which is unusual for a 3G phone.
