I swear everyone with complaints have bought faulty phones or throw them around or something. I've had mine a good 1 and a half years now and it still works like a charm, and I'm not planning on getting a new one either. No such thing as perfect. The phone does what it's meant to do, texts and calls people. The great Internet is nice to use too, and it's fun to play around with the apps on the phone once in a while. Keys stop working? Stop pressing them so hard. Freezes and wont text? Get a memory card for your stuff and delete the texts. Slow? Delete stuff, get a memory card ect. Also quit complaining saying you bought the phone, just for one feature. "i bought this phone just for the facebook app" makes you look really dumb, no offense. Think about the phone you get before getting it.

i actually hate this phone, it freezes all the time, and now i cant receive or send texts! the phone itself is too big and chunky, and the screen lags all the time. I do delete my texts and phone calls regularly but that still makes no difference to it. The screen turns off on its own and when deleting texts, the screen freezes and takes at least an hour to resolve itself, if not that it just takes a very long time to delete about 20 texts. Internet isnt very good even with full coverage. I am so happy to get rid of this phone and to get a new one, i loved it at first but over time ive started to detest it

I've had this phone for almost a year now, and i know it isn't going to be top standard still, but it shouldn't have gone this quickly! i don't know if its the battery or charger or phone but the battery life varies which is annoying and you have to hold it at a certain angle to charge. Also, it may say it has full battery, then suddenly says low battery and turns off. Also if you have over 50 messages in your inbox the phone becomes incredibly slow and you have to delete them. the only good thing is the keyboard which i love, but everything else is awful. do not buy this phone!

This is the worst phone I have ever had. As it states the phone freezes at every opportunity, the inbox gets to a certain capacity and then you cannot do anything and have to remove the battery and then delete all inbox and outbox/sent texts therefore you are unable save anything important even under folders as that has limited storage. I have additional memory card but it doesn't of course store texts. This is my first LG phone and quite frankly it will be my last.

Have had this phone for about 6 months now, and up until about a month ago it worked brilliantly. At first it was little things, for example the send button for texting wouldn't work occasionally. But this was usually fixed when I took the battery out and put it back in again. However, I then noticed my phone would turn itself on and off, even though the battery was fully charged. I ignored these problems, (even though they were frequent as honestly they weren't causing too much dissruption with usage as I only really use my phone to make short calls and occasional texts. However my phone then began to freeze. I would turn the phone on, and nothing. The touchscreen failed to work completely. Even the keyboard failed to work. I called my network and they said to 'delete everything on the phone as that was probably what was causing it to freeze'. Even when I tried to explain I had no chance in hell of deleting everything on there when the phone was completely frozen anyway, it was the only explantion they would give me. No offers to upgrade my phone at this point. They said my phone would correct itself quickly. I made my first complete then. I was left with the phone for about a week. Miraculously, my phone turned on, and didnt freeze! Straight away I deleted EVERYTHING, music, texts, pictures, games you name it-it was gone. And feeling guilty i rang my network to apologise for my colourful complaint. And then the next day, it turned itself off. As soon as it turned on again it froze. I sent it to be repaired and they sent it back in the exact same condition. Not only has the tempermants of the phone shocked me but my networks attitude towards dealing with it. Aparently it's a common problem, but one which they do not give warning. Making another complaint I have finally managed to get a new phone that for now, is working a treat. I'm not going to name to brand of this new phone 'cause I don't wanna seem like a cheap marketer. But lets just say it's not an LG phone. Oh, and if i could this phone less than 1 star, I would. Sorry for the lengthy review people but with all the inconvenience, do you really blame me?

I've had this phone for about a year, and when I first got it I thought it was amazing, now I have all kinds of problems such as; it turns itself off, it freezes and when your inbox is full it doesn't tell you, you have to delete your texts, turn it off, then turn it back on again. Usually after you have done that, it sends you texts that you've already received and it get confusing. It also has a poor battery life and when you have lots of pictures on your phone, its incredibly slow just to take one. But, texting on it is great, the buttons are well spaced so it's quick and easy, and the screen is OK, other than it sometimes freezes.

I can see from all the reviews below that most people have the same problem with the screen freezing out- it is terrible! I have had to have it fixed twice, and both times it came back with bad graphics resulting in the screen freezing, and every time I use it I have to remove the battery and put it back in. Sometimes it stops working whilst sending a text, or sends a text message repeatedly until it unfreezes. However, it is an extremely good looking phone and the QWERTY keypad is excellent! (My main draw for buying it!) However, I do not recommend it.

I've had the phone for just over a year now, and throughout this time MANY problems have occured. In no particular order, I'll list off a few of the problems I've face. Severe lagging at times, say, when you hold to unlock the phone, your display picture brightens, and then the screen will freeze for any time up to 50 seconds, from experience. Occasionally, when a texts comes through, and your phone is on vibrate, it'll continue vibrating for a long period of time, and wont stop until the text has fully arrived. This phone does NOT warn you, at all, of when you're running out of memory. So suddenly, when you've written out a 4 page text, it will not allow you to send it. You can press send all you like, but it wont do anything. In addition to this, you cannot save it to drafts. Pure frustration. My next point is rare, but it's actually happened to me about 3 or 4 times. A text that, when opened, turns your phone off. Therefore, you cannot read it. Also, the phone ma y restart itself sometimes, be warned. The picture quality of this phone isn't bad, honestly, but the video quality is awful. I absolutely loved this phone when I first got it, but it drives me crazy, the amount of problems I face when using it is unbearable. Although sometimes, I want to throw it at a wall, and cannot wait to get my new phone, I will miss the qwerty keyboard. I loved that thing, wish every mobile had one!

Ive had a reliable OK phone for six years. It works, easily and reliably. This thing is a beast! I have had three shots at using it for two days ata time. It has spent the last month back in it's box. First and foremost, it must be a mobile telephone that doesn't let the gadgetry get in the way of normal calls and texts. I wish I could switch off all the gismos until I wanted to sit back and puzzle out how they work. The AA is the first entry on my directory. They must be fed up with the number of times this damn phone has sent them a duff call without me asking it to do so. I will be giving it to a teenager who wants to do everything possible on it instead of making phone calls. Thank heavens my old phone will never let me down. Advice:- Don't buy this phone if you make regular and important phone calls.

I've had this phone for over a year now, and it has scratches on the screen. Currently, the screen is covered with a blue rectangle. When I have over 100 texts in my inbox, I cannot text others unless I delete them. It is very annoying when I need to text someone ASAP. It has became really slow going on anything and it randomly goes on 'dialling' once I've exited from the 'top menu'. The battery is alright though, it last quite long for me. The camera is rubbish, no flash (3.0 mega pixels). You have to have lots of lights on and/or be outside in the light. Next month I am getting a Blackberry, so all is well for me. :) I think I will cope, but it has been a struggle after having it. I got it with Orange, so I didn't mind that they changed things, because I wasn't used to an LG anyway. I', grateful to have it, but I think it was a waste of SOME money, not all. It's not my favourite phone, but I do like the QWERTY keypad!

The phone is very slow and laggy when executing an app. Or dialing a number and sometimes even texting. I havent tried out the internet but the text has slow response time. The battery last around 24 hours, even with minimal use, and it will decide to shut down without warning, especially during phone calls. It is near impossible to send a text at the best of times, never mind if someone texts you at the same time- again, it just crashes. The internet is slow and never works. Sadly I'm on contract, but might just get an old Nokia instead of this for the next 12 months, really can't cope with such a rubbish piece of trash. My 2 friends have it and both hate it as well. I've had it for about a year now and in that year I have had trouble sending texts and occasionally receiving the same text to my phone numerous times, even months after first receiving it (for example I was being told to have a happy easter up until about 3 weeks ago). Also the hard buttons have now stopped working. I have only had the phone for under a year and have looked after it and not damaged it yet it constantly breaks, and when comparing it to my two previous phones (which both lasted 2-3 years each) I am greatly disappointed with this one as I expected it to at least work. Good phone, battery lasts long if you're not talking or browsing the web all the time, camera takes good quality pictures if the camera and target are still and in sun light. Email has a bug that makes it pretty much unusable, first email you receive is unreadable if another gets sent it then becomes unreadable and the previous one can now be read. it can multi task with that round app button thing windows version of ALT+TAB. It doesn't play videos well if you put your own on it, they cut out after a few minutes if it did play them i would give it an extra star as it would make a good little movie player with its clear bright moderate resolution screen. browsing the web is easy, on screen buttons can be small at times as it loads normal websites some times, the browser is anoying pops up and goes away when you want/dont want it. with an audio adapter and 8 gig memory card i use it as my mp3 player its great, runs about 8 hours playing music until it runs low on power. the back lit keyboard is godly, well positioned easy to thumb type, if you dont need it you slide it way. overall this phone is let down by its operating systems glitchyness, and a lack of processing power that side it is near perfect for an average user.

I'm on pay as you go Orange and the music, game and texting apps they provide look and work very well with the phone. Internet is good on the whole, and the fact you can open two tabs at once is really useful. The camera effects studio thing is also amazing. I haven't really experienced any major problems, a blue screen once, occasional freezing, but only when I've tried to do too many things at once. Only thing I would say is that, although your meant be able to go on you-tube, you can't really watch any videos on it as it takes ages loading, buffering and then eventually sound and audio is crackly. But apart from you-tube all is good. 4 stars for definite. PS - I'm posting from on my phone. Yeah, impressed now?

If you record any voice recordings, it can't tell the difference between them and your music, (so you hear your voice recordings as music tracks while playing your music). I also agree with pretty much everything the previous poster said as well. And yeah, the sound/music quality on Nokia phones are alot botter.

i have had this phone for almost a year now. i got it for my birthday in december. overall this is a decent phone, that doesnt lack much. a good 3.0mp camera, good qwerty keyboard, good menu system etc. bad things are, the gw520 is slow, however when you've deleted some texts messages it runs faster. i have had to change this phone 5times -not even being sarcastic! it has been a good phone, but im not reccomending it. i am now getting the samsung diva s7070.

ive replaced my lg ku990i with this phone, a lot of people thought i was a bit bonkers for doing so. ok, so it doesnt support video calling, those of us who are lucky enough to have the internet, dont need it, so i was happy to make this sacrafice. also the camera doesnt have a zoom function on it, but that didnt bother me either, the fact that i can text using the qwerty keyboard, without fear of damaging the screen, (as i did on the viewty) and with it having similar functions to my pc keyboard i rushed to buy it. i also owned the lg ks260, but i found that i experienced many faults with that one, when sending a txt using the qwerty keyboard it just couldnt display charcters as fast as i was typing them. this has quite a few handy apps, i cant really explain in detail what they all do as it would take forever, overall i would recommend this phone to my friends. some people say it crashes a lot, but as yet nothing that ive done has caused this to happen, maybe im one of the lucky ones. ok, so its a bit slow when you want to bring an app to life, or you go to delete a txt etc, it takes quite a while for the phone to do what you want it to (2secs). as for the music player, ive found that if you avoid going into the "music logo," in the entertainment section, and go directly to your memory card, its comes up in a flash, you dont have to wait for ages for the phone to update your tracks, artist, albums, genres etc. which can be annoying. your music is there just as you put it on your memory card via your computer. overall the only qualm i have about this phone is that if i want to delete something, it takes a while to do so, as stated above, but... as yet, i cant find anything else to gripe about, im very satisfied with this phone, and i was very happy to replace my lg ku990i for it, (some would disagree). if your not sure, to avoid disappointmtnt, dont buy it, i just went for it, and im 98% happy with it. i only deduct 2% for the speed of things. im a happy customer so far...

I've had this phone about 8 months and get on great with it, touch screens really easy to use and fast. I hardly use the qwerty keyboard as its so fast texting using touch screen. The phone does get a little slow if it has 60 or so messages in the inbox, but i regularly delete them so dont have a problem. It holds about 30 photos and one movie, about 5 songs. If youre the type who wants a phone to store alot of music, photos, and lots of messages then you'd be wise to also purchase a micro SD card with this phone to expand the memory, theyre only £5-£10. I love this phone, i always bought Nokia before, only complaint is it looks plasticy rather than shiny or expensive.

I nagged my mum to purchase this phone for me when it first came out, because of the £182.99 price tag, it meant she had to open up a contract. I recieved my first handset in October09 and it broke within the first week, the internet would freeze contstantly, meaning the phone was totally usless, unless you took thee back off, which is pathetic as it has HSDPA. We trapsed back into the store to recieve another handset that day, and within my mum going around New Look, we were back in the store as it had frozen again. I then recieved another handset which lasted 4 days before we were back in the shop, this time due to sms, and mms, not being sent. As we were now regulars in the O2 store of Boston, the manage came out, and suggested that i try a different hand set, as i would only be able to have it fixed if anything went worng. So i chose the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. of which i have had to be fixed once, due to sms not sending and the screen freezing, however once it had been fixed, the handset is still in use today. I hope to get the Sony Erricson Vivaz Pro, as the LG GW520 had a comfortable keyboard, of-which i enjoyed, and now miss. POOR PHONE

this is an alright phone if youre not looking to spend say over £100, but it does get annoying after a few days. i think that the operating system that this and other LG phones use is poor and slow. the internet browsing is slow even though it is 3G and when you are on websites you have to keep resetting the zoom as the page kept zooming out on its own. the QWERTY keyboard comes in VERY handy for texting and the email is easy to use too. you can also have youre texts in a threaded view so it looks like a conversation like on an instant messanger. as i got this from the Orange shop, i got orange messenger. this was not much use. when i was having conversations with my friends it was littered with errors. the facebook widget i got from Orange was useless too. the camera was pretty good, better than the LG Cookie. i am going to give this phone 3 out of 5 as it is a good phone but its not for me.

Absolutely rubbish phone. Has multiple faults such as freezing, refuses to send texts, inconvenient internet browser. The only good feature is the QWERTY keyboard. Short battery life. I have had the phone for about 6 months now and have already replaced it twice. The phone doesnt have enough internal memory to sustain its own functionality and scrambles the screen when switching from one menu to another. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

Ive had this phone since about november and got it because of the qwerty keypad which I absolutely love. However its pretty shocking. Ive already replaced it once because it kept freezing whenever I tried to send texts, and yeah I had the same problem as a lot of people that pressing 'send' just didnt do anything. These problems happen because its text memory is very low even though on the overall system memory it says I have used hardly any. As soon as it gets to about 350 texts in your inbox, all kinds of problems start happening. So id defs avoid it if you are a big texter.

this is a great phone , simple to use and great with the querty keyboard. i really love the way it looks and the touch screen is nice, altough this phone is a bit on the chunky size as well as weighing quite alot. i had alot of trouble with this phone to start with, i have been through 4 of them it wouldnt let me send texts it would work for around a week and then break. it has been working for 2 months now this one but i am waiting for it to happen again because the keyboard is already going a bit faulty. also it takes ages to set the phone up onto the computer and setting it up 4 times really wasnt great. but i do really like my phone and i find it practical and fun to use the querty is a real bonus, as well as the battery life being fantastic. hopefully my review has helped
