The LG Chocolate KG800 is a top of the range sliding phone. It has an award wining unique design with a heat sensitive touch pad that glows red to show you where to press. With the keypad being heat sensitive, it prevents items in your pocket or bag from activating it, and when not in use the touch pad disappears to leave a clean exterior finish.
The phone has a camera with 1.3 megapixels, 4 x digital zoom and a flash to enable photos to be taken in poor lighting, and with video recording capabilities you are also able to record short clips. The features of this camera are average when compared to other top of the range phones as there are some excellent camera phones available such as the Sony Ericsson K790i, which has 3.2 megapixels as well as a Xenon flash, autofocus and video capabilities.
The KG800 has a good TFT Display which is very bright and viewable in sunshine. It has a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and supports 262k colours.
It has an MP3 player that supports a wide range of other formats such as AAC, AAC+, AAC++ and WMA. The dedicated key around the edge of the phone will launch the phone into music player mode and you are able to control the music being played with the touch pad or the inline remote control supplied with the headset. MP3's are also supported for ringtones.
Memory for the phone is quite good with 128MB of internal memory; however there is no option to expand this with an external memory card so if you are serious about storing a lot of music or other files this will limit you.
Connectivity is very good with the two main options available, Bluetooth and USB. With Bluetooth you are able to wirelessly connect to another Bluetooth device up to 10 meters apart. The USB cable allows you to connect to a PC and with this you are able to use your phone as a mass storage device which enables you to drag and drop files such as music, photos and videos etc straight onto your phone from your PC.
Internet connection is disappointing in comparison to other phones of this price range, the KG800 uses GPRS data transfer rates which are significantly slower then EDGE or 3G (which can be three times faster or more respectively).
The battery life of the phone is below average with only 200 hours of standby time. It supports Tri-band operating frequency which means it will work in Europe and America.
Overall, this is an extremely stylish phone with a beautiful chocolate brown smooth finish, it's definitely one of the coolest phones to have but if you require something with a bit more functionality, this is not the phone for you as the features are pretty much standard for a top of the range phone and for your money you can get something that offers more. With a few complaints about the poor battery life and the sensitive keypad amongst other niggles from users, this is not a phone that we are recommending.

In my opinion this phone is still one of the best looking phones on the market,less is more, simple staight lines. But it`s not exactly the easiest phone 2 use, and like the `LG SHINE` it`s way 2 quiet. What is it with LG and volume. Bottom line is if u want style but not substance, go for this phone. If the other way round, DON`T.

my mum has bought me this phone for christmas, but even though i havent got it yet i still luv it!!! my mate has it and i just luv it(even though it is quite old now and everyone else is getting brand new ones) i luv how you just press the buttons and the camera is good too. i am looking forward to havin more songs too because now i have a motorola and even though i have a memory card i still can not have as many songs as this phone. now i just cant wait untill chrimbo and if anyone says this phone is rubbish...its not!!! xXxXx

This phone is not as good as it looks. It looks very cool and good. But inaide it is bad. The phone easily calls people when you don't want it to. It takes about 2 seconds to respond to the touch screen. It turns off when you close the screen every so often. I have had over 7 phones and this phone is probalbly the worst phone yet. There are some good things about this phone. It has a light for the camera. Finally this phone is not a good phone. It is slow and the respeption is horrible. I advise never to get this phone...

i bought an LG Chocolate off Orange for £70 and it is already not working very well. When I first got it, it would only hold around 10 songs, but after a while, i wanted some new songs, so i deleted them all and tried to put some new ones on, but it said i didnt have enough memory for even one song! As well, I can only hold around 20 images+photos as well! the memory has been wiped quite thoroughly, so I wouldn't recommend buying this phone, i have so many more little problems, there is no loudspeaker, and there is no snooze button on the alarm clock. Its driving my head in and im definately going to get a new phone if i cant fix it.

well where do i start eh? I have had this phone for a year, yes a year. doesnt mean i like it. There has been so many problems with this phone but had only been taken back once as the screen went all funny and couldnt even read the writing. it divided itself in half and went all weird and colourfull, hard to explain really, sure its happend to someone else though. I have to be honest it looks nice (which is the reason why i chose this phone) and i like the touch screen, havent had a problem with that so far. im with 02 and never have any reception. the only place i have it is at home. occasionally i get some at college but as soon as i go to send a text it magically has no reception again!! how annoying. I never have any problems with hearing people over the phone (when i evntually get signal that is) sometimes i dont recieve messages which is also quite annoying. cant think of anything else to moan about with this phone for the moment but im sure something will pop into my head later. for those of you who are thinking of getting this phone i wouldnt bother. some people say its good, i disagree. even though i have had it for a year but getting a motorola K1 for christmas, thats gotta be better than the LG eh? i thought about giving it 1 star but because its lasted a year i suppose i should give it 2.

I think this is a great phone it is nice and light to carry I know it dosen't have any memory and you can only have 9 songs on it but that's because it's a fashion phone which is great because if your carrying it around beside you,you will look FABULOUS.

Got my chocolate some time ago but only just leaving a message now. I initally loved the phone, loved the features the look. HOWEVER.... reception wise it is useless.. I was reusing my old sim so had a pretty good idea what reception should be like but constantly had problems with calls, every minute or so it would cut out and go "Network Busy" or just have really bad interference. Have tried replairing, completely replacing the mother board (or so they told me)but still just as bad. Have given up and gone back to my old phone, what is the point of having a beautiful phone that doesn't work. Tried to get a different phone but was told by T'mobile that they had stopped stocking this due to amount of issues. Would not get an LG again.

ive had it for ages and its a good phone, but im a bit dissapointed that you got just 4 choices for msg tone and you cant load your own mp3 songs for an alert or meassge tone. just "ding dila ling ling", which is unauible once you go outside near cars. which is a bit wired coz older pooey phones do it but this dont? thats it. other wise, love it.

Ive got this phone for my birthday in september and its a great phone the camera is great! its holds loads of songs ive got 23 songs on mine up 2 now and it has the room 2 hold more!! its a great phone all round!!!! WELL DONE LG YET ANOTHER GREAT PHONE!!!

The fone is really stylish looking, which is great, i just got it yesterday, but reading all the reviews, im sort of worried, becuase most of the reviews are saying that its not good, but its okay so far, the keys are a little annoying, and the reception is really bad, i sent a text message at 8:00am to my big sis, and she recieved it at 1pm!!!!!i mean 5 HOURS LATER!!! i was dissapointed by that, but its really good, though, i sort of recomment it, but i would rather have samsung or nokia

I got my dark red LG Chocolate almost a year ago and have been more than happy with it. The battery has started to need charging every other day but that is my only complaint.

if possible i would give this phone no star at all...ive had this phone for over 5 months now so id say im an expert when it comes to this phone. Yes it looks amazing but the looks are very much deceiving. This phone has so many small technicalities that make it rubbish. First of all this phone has no speaker phone, it may not seem like a big deal but honestly what phone has no speaker??? Second going through my pictures is quite tedious, theres an option to view thumbnail sizes of the photos, if i open a picture and then go back to the main menu, it starts from the beginning all over again (what if the photo i looked at was picture 56 of 100, id have to scroll all the way down to picture 56 again), also when reading text messages i find it very annoying that i cant just press the arrow button going down to read my other messages, i have to go back to the inbox and open the next message, very tedious...and if i delete say message 60 from 100 messages, once its delet ed it goes back to message 1 at the very top, what if i wanted to delete the message right after message 60, id have to scroll all the way down. Theres so much more that makes this phone a let down, LG should not make cell phones.

Good music player but it only holds like 22 songs but its a nice phone great for kids who want a first phone. The camras not great but its not rubbish. The phones a tad big but it is still a great phone.

well i dont know wht u other pple are on but this phone is rubbish.i fell in love with it cz it was bright pink but if i knew that it wud take lik 15min to get one song though bluetooth i wudnt have got it.but if u drop it number of time it a brill phone as i drop in the sink and on the groun grass and concret and also at the wall. the only thing it does is make the battery come out. plus the ringtones are rlly quiet that u cant rlly hear the mes ones. DO NOT GET THE PHONE UNLESS U BREAK THINGS EASLIY AS IT WILL NOT BREAK

I had the Lg Chocolate when it was first released and is one of the worst phones ive ever had. The screen goes blank and resets all your settings. You cant hear people when calling them and the phone wouldnt charge. I wouldnt have this phone ever again it was a complete waste of money

Getting either a pink or white one for christmas and cannot wait. I've read and equal amount of good and bad reviews of the KG800 on the net but i have a couple of friends who have one and they all say it's a fantastic little phone. Also i'm not bothered about the fact that there is no SD/Memory card slot as i think 128mb is enough room - doesn't that mean around 30? (if it was included with picture etc.)

I loved this fone for abut 10 minutes ! Had it since July and the camera has broke , the vid camera has broke , it charges double the amount of money it should , it freezes at the most annoying times eg. sending a text , the touch screen is annoying , its slow at flicking through fotos , and the battery is pitiful. I hate it. DO NOT BUY THIS FONE !

This phone is absolutely stunning!! However, I've had it for just over 2 months, and have had to revert to using my old phone [a really old, falling apart motorola], as my LG chocolate is completly broken. I looked after it extremely well, so it's through no fault of my own. First of all the camera wouldn't work, the loading screen just came on, and then the phone would freeze up. Then after a couple of days the screen would randomly turn white. Soon when I tried to make calls, the signal would be showing full, but yet when I tried to call someone it'd come up with "emergency calls only!" which was extremely frustrating. However, as I loved the phone so much I tried to continue using it. I'd turn it off, and turn it on again, if it froze up, or when the screen turned white and this would usually work. Then the screen split into 4 screens....the same screen repeated twice at the top of the screen, and reflected twice in the bottom of the screen, and all the colours w ere purple and green and pixelated. I could barely use the phone, and whenever I opened it the screen would turn white again. Even though the phone's screen had split into 4 screens, the colour was messed up, and so pixellated I could barely make out what was on the screen I still tried to use it, that's how much I loved this phone.. Making calls and texting became impossible though, as whenever I'd open it, the screen's would freeze, or go white. Some other negative points..it hasn't got loud speaker, which is a bit annoying! Most of the ringtones are quite girly (and v quiet), but I loved them. This could be easily sorted for guys by putting their own music/ringtones etc onto the phone though. Also I always use the alarm feature on my phone....and on this phone, the alarm doesn't go off if the phone is on silent or off. That's a bit annoying. Also browsing/reading through texts is quite slow, but you get the hang of it. Deleting texts is slow too. I found my number 1 problem with this phone (apart from the fact it completly broke) is texting on it! As a really fast texter, I found the texting absolutely dreadful. It doesn't know any of the common abbreviations, and it can't learn words. When I added words to the dictionary, it'd delete some of my text and it'd only learn the word for that message, after that it'd be forgotten. Everything has to be typed in full, and if you type in too fast, then it can't keep up with you. At first the texting situation drove me crazy, and I was seriously considering returning the phone just because of that, but after using it for a while I got used to it and just put up with the rubbish system! Oh, and the battery was pretty dreadful too. Only lasted like a day and a half. Ok so some positives..the camera is good, the phone itself is absolutely gorgeous! I love the ringtones and sound effects and stuff! Lovely big bright clear screen. I didn't use the MP3 too much, cause I have an mp3 player anyway, but from what music I did put on there it's good quality and the speakers are loud. It's got a reasonable amount of memory although its a bit annoying that you can't add external memory to it. It does everything you need a phone to do, you can text [although this is pretty bad], and make calls etc. I would NOT recommend buying this phone. A small bit of research shows that most people find this phone breaks after a while. Although its stunning, it's probably better to spend your money on a phone which will last you longer, and performs better. Hope this helps!

Hi there everyone. Personally, I love my LG Chocolate phone. Its styly, new and fresh, which makes it a great phone to own. I have no problems with the touchpad, but I find the lack of battery life a bit irritating. There should have been more space on the phone, to satisfy its many abilities. The one thing I find annoying is the fact that there is an option on the contacts to "Add Contact Photo", but it doesn't work!?! Otherwise, the LG KG800 is definetly a must-have.

I bought the LG Chocolate but the flip version. I liked it at first, great display, great song quality but the only thing I noticed at first was the camera sucked, the pictures were blurry and after a while they started getting lines through them and after a month the camera wouldnt even work at all. The touch sensitive buttons on the front wouldnt turn off for like hours straight which drained my battery really quickly. I hated this phone after 2 months and dont reccomend it.

Owned this phone for almost a year now and I can honestly say It has not faulted. In respect of looks it is much admired, however the down side is that it is difficult to hear the phone ringing if you have it in your handbag and also it can look 'dirty' as fingerprints mark the casing easily. Battery life also very limited. All in all a reliable, good looking handset.

I have a pink lg chocolate and its not borken yet and i've had it for about just over 2 monts nearly . It's really cool but the touch pad can get annoying sometimes mp3 could od with being loudder and holding more songs but i actually bum my ohonee soo much lol :D its so lightt and pretty xxx

i think the LG chocolate touch screen is stupid because my friend had one and everytime she picked up the phone to ring some one or if she answered the phone...it accidently turned it off...i would not buy it...old now and very easily damaged. im moving on to the G600 :D

i had this fone....yes HAD i got rid of it....i had 2 bring it bak 2 the shop 100s of times as it would freeze or knock off everytime i tried to text...it was taken and repaird many a time however this didnt help then the battery would die within 10 seconds of it being taken off charger....never again buy a shotgun instead and blow it to peices!!!! + carphone warehouse never replaced it grrrrrrr not happy!

even though i'm on my SECOND lg chocolate, i still wouldn't give it up for any other phone out right now (within the average persons price range). my first got damaged when i kinda underestimated people's warnings about the senstivity of the touch screen and after a day in my back pocket, it was busted. despite this i'm now on my second because of the overall fact that this phone manages to look sophisticated, with modern feature and still be easy to use. at the end of the day though it gets a quite high 4/5. i can't give it full marks simply for the fact that i wish it had a longer battery life (which seems to go down life a flash whenever i'm using any other feature aside from texts, calls and the odd picture) and i wish the memory was slightly bigger too (why put down features like mp3s when its at the cost of several of your pictures/texts/videos,etc).

Ive had my chocolate for 12 mths and being phone dumb have had no trouble with touch pad once i learnt to touch it precisely and lightly and its quick to go to menus.I have downloaded photos for ebaying and do that easy enough.My phone had the only reception on holidays even though daughter has nokia n80.I love the typing sounds you can use for texting and funny sounds when you open the slide.I love this different phone,it does what I want and I was phone illiterate when I bought it.

People have given this phone some great reviews, and I would have done 10 months ago when I first bought it. However, I am now completely sick of it. I have looked after my phone since day one, & yet have ghad nothing but trouble with it. I've had it repaired, and then replaced and last night the screen malfunctioned completely & I am phoneless. Even better, the six month warranty has expired so I can't get it mended again! I woyuldn't recommend this phone to anybody. Honestly, I wish I'd never seen it.

my dad got me this phone and it is the best one i have ever had however...when i got it with in 2 wekks the screen went dead, you could nothing only hear. i took it bk and got new one and have had it for months now. all has been fine with this one although the battery isnt the best espessially if you want to use the mp3 or camera alot. u can litterally watch the gage go down, but if you dont then its a graeat phone. hold LOADS of memory (mp3, videos, pictures). loads of people say the touch buttons arnt good. havnt had a problem with mine until today but hat was my own fault for fallin of the horse. over all it is a VERY stylish and unique phone, yes it gets a little scratched bu dont they all. i am still very impressed with this phone. but seen as i broke it today i am looking for a new one, and different, wot do you recommend ??

Well - I have recently bought this phone AFTER reading all the mostly bad reviews on this phone and all I can say is I bought it cause I have always wanted it and didn't get it for free on my upgrade cause I got put off by these reviews earlier in the year. I bought my mob from the carphonewarehouse and I confronted them on the problems that the choc has been having and they told me point blank not to get it but they did say that LG have 'Re-done' the chocolate and that most of the problems people were having should not happen again. You can tell if you have a newer model as it now dows not come in its trendy big LG box,but comes in a similar smaller version with all the bits on the left hand side. It also doesn't come with it's sexy xase or the little screen cleaner. Isn't it always the case with mobiles like these - they bring out the first model and test it out for a bit, hear all the problems it has and then they work on it again and make a second version to erase the problems, one of which I heard u could not set an mp3 tune as the ringtone - I put some tunes on the phone and set my ringtone and it saved it. The look is still the same - they have just tweaked it. I am willing to give this little mobile a try as I do find it one of the best looking ones that is now affordable £48.95 + £10 Credit u have to buy. Will keep u posted as the months go on.

i recently got this fone. i live in shanghai and i bought it here. When i took it home, the fone didn't charge properly, but i rly liked it! except 4 the camera witch wasn't the best. so i took it back 2 the shop n got a new 1. I took that home n then the sound wasn't working. so i took it back and asked 4 a my money back. but they sed that i had 2 have 3 that didn't work 2 get my money back. so i stayed in the shop n played wid it n then the sound stopped again. so i got my money back. I think that maybe it could have been the phone in china. so i will go bac 2 aus n buy it there. but i rly liked the touchscreen n all ma friends loved it! i give it a 3 cus i like the phone but with the experience i had wid it, i put it lower. if that didn't happen, then i would give it a 5.

am buyin the choclate next month. i think its amazing for its price! its totally stylish. everyone says its so cheap cause it breaks dead easily but thats not true its totally cute and lasts agaes!

this is the worst fone i have ever bought i hate it, i bought the pink one as it looked really nice, the camera is very poor quality, iv had to send it back twice from the speaker going, and the screen not working at all....anyone reading this take my advice and dont buy it!!

Well i got this phone for christmas last year .. at first i loved it ..but after 2months it wouldnt charge ..got it fixed after another month same thing happened ..and now it is hapend again ..The battery is absolutely useless.. If i had a choice i wouldnt give this any stars!

This phone is aamazing... no faults really... battery could b better but apart from that all is good... memory brilliant... 32 songs on my phone at the moment... over 200 pictures still loads of memeory left cant believe how cheap the phone is now 60 pounds! very good bargain!

I have had this fone 4 nearly a year and is hasn't let me down once!!! I have dopped it 8 times and there isnt even a scratch!!! The camera quality is excellent and the tune 4 the sudoku game is sooo catchy! I <3 THIS FONE TO PIECES!!!

I wanted a new phone to replace my much loved samsung d5oo. I tried all the later samsung models and some of the new nokia models and sold them all and went back to my d500. I then bought my daughter a pink lg chocolate and set it up for her and just fell in love with it and had to get myself a sexy little black one. It is a beautifull, tactile little phone. I still won't get rid of my d500 as i have had it for almost 3 years and love it, but it now has been put away in a drawer just in case, but so far I have now used my lg for 5 weeks and still love it.

I had this fone for a while Good points : 1.It looks stylish 2.good memory, unless u want loads of songs 3.Okish camera 4.Easy to use with ur computer 5. Holds almost any music file type Bad points: 1. Scratches easily 2.Low battery life, Nokias have much better battery life 3.Sometimes freezes 4.No decent zoom on the camera 5.If u write a text but it doesn't send cos there's no signal, when u go back to writing a message ur one u just wrote is deleted. ANNOYING! But overall quite a good phone, especially for teenage girls.

I constantly mute my phone conversations accidently, as my face is on the buttons. Button sensitivity is too strong for my liking. Pretty good phone overall though.

I got this phone last year. I loved it from the very beginning. It could hold alot of songs, looked beautiful, camera was great etc. But then.. Suddenly one day i turned it on and all that came up was a white screen. It has started to freeze etc. I found out this is a very common problem in these phones. It is just a faulty with the phone. If you don't want to waste you're money then i'd keep away from this phone.

I really liked the look of this phone, so i got it at christmas time. It didnt take long until the it turned off on me, or go weird. also the touch sensitve keypad is very very sensitive and always goes the opposite way to what i want it to do, this is annoying. i dont recomend this phone to anyone. I am not pleased with it.

when i first got this phone i was estatic because it looke so goo but looks arent evtherything, the touch screen broke on the second week and the screen broke just after that, soo fragile, i phone much better or sony erikson w810i trust me on this

im got this phone for my birthday it was my first ever phone and i think it is very cool. i agree with what people say about poor battery life ang the camera could be better. but when you look at all the other cool things the phone has it tkaes those worries away. for me this phone is all you need and it looks good too, which makes verything better! :]

I really love my phone and i think it is brilliant. although the keys are too sensitive there is a touchpad lock that you can enable. i really like this phone and it takes alright pictures and stores a moderate amount of music
