The LG Chocolate KG800 is a top of the range sliding phone. It has an award wining unique design with a heat sensitive touch pad that glows red to show you where to press. With the keypad being heat sensitive, it prevents items in your pocket or bag from activating it, and when not in use the touch pad disappears to leave a clean exterior finish.
The phone has a camera with 1.3 megapixels, 4 x digital zoom and a flash to enable photos to be taken in poor lighting, and with video recording capabilities you are also able to record short clips. The features of this camera are average when compared to other top of the range phones as there are some excellent camera phones available such as the Sony Ericsson K790i, which has 3.2 megapixels as well as a Xenon flash, autofocus and video capabilities.
The KG800 has a good TFT Display which is very bright and viewable in sunshine. It has a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and supports 262k colours.
It has an MP3 player that supports a wide range of other formats such as AAC, AAC+, AAC++ and WMA. The dedicated key around the edge of the phone will launch the phone into music player mode and you are able to control the music being played with the touch pad or the inline remote control supplied with the headset. MP3's are also supported for ringtones.
Memory for the phone is quite good with 128MB of internal memory; however there is no option to expand this with an external memory card so if you are serious about storing a lot of music or other files this will limit you.
Connectivity is very good with the two main options available, Bluetooth and USB. With Bluetooth you are able to wirelessly connect to another Bluetooth device up to 10 meters apart. The USB cable allows you to connect to a PC and with this you are able to use your phone as a mass storage device which enables you to drag and drop files such as music, photos and videos etc straight onto your phone from your PC.
Internet connection is disappointing in comparison to other phones of this price range, the KG800 uses GPRS data transfer rates which are significantly slower then EDGE or 3G (which can be three times faster or more respectively).
The battery life of the phone is below average with only 200 hours of standby time. It supports Tri-band operating frequency which means it will work in Europe and America.
Overall, this is an extremely stylish phone with a beautiful chocolate brown smooth finish, it's definitely one of the coolest phones to have but if you require something with a bit more functionality, this is not the phone for you as the features are pretty much standard for a top of the range phone and for your money you can get something that offers more. With a few complaints about the poor battery life and the sensitive keypad amongst other niggles from users, this is not a phone that we are recommending.

This phone is soo cool you can listen to music and text i would say the only problem with it is it needs a bit more memory for music an videos an you need to be able to go on other things when you are listening to your music but you can only have it one way or another!! :D

I have just recently purchased this phone and it is absolutely amazing. It not only looks good but operates fantastically aswell. The only grumble i have is the volume of the text alert. It is fixed and is not very loud. But apart from that i have no other problems. Alot of people are moaning about things such as the phone smudges, thats why you are provided with a cleaner and that the T9 predictive text is not as good as others, again thats why you have the option to turn predictive text off. I would highly reccommend this phone, but only to normal people who do not have a fit because they can see a tiny smudge. It is a great phone which is why it is one of the most desirable phones on the market. Go and buy!

It is the worst phone ever !!!! ... i have had the phone 5 months and have had to take it in for repair 3 times !!! the camera and music files will not work ... the battery lasts only a day

Bought 1 in november it worked okay for a wee while but now is starting to play up the touch pad doesnt always work it turns on nd off wen ever on the internet and goes into emergeny mode doesnt connect to the sim properly. Before this fone i have always had sony ericssons and net time i gt a new fone it will be a sony ericsson lg should stick to making other electircals bad move by lg it wil give them a bad name

Had my phone since last August, i love it, my one and only complaint is that i wish there was a snooze on the alarm, i know you can set the individual alarms at intervals of your choosing up this is too time consuming, love everything else about it!

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. LG should be forced to recall this phone & compensate buyers. This phone is only looks. The touchbad drove me mad. You press one thing and it does another. LG replaced the phone 4 times, either too sensetive or too hard. At the end they were forced by the Dept of Fair Trading to refund my money. I encourage every disappointed buyer to do the same. If everybody request their money back, they will be forced to recall all their phone and learn a lesson. The phoen deserves BIG ZEROOOOOOOOO.

GRRRR this phone drove me MAD! It's got all the features you want and at a reasonable price but the touch pad makes opening the phone a task in itself, and the glossy finish doesn't just mean sleek and sexy it means FINGERPRINTS! Also, this phone seems to be easily scratched, and the slide funtion is sticking a bit after having the phone about 2 months.

When I first got this phone i was really excited, because it was very stylish and had a camera. But it is terrible. The touchscreen does not even work anymore, i have gone through two phones. The first one broke after 1 week, the piece where you stick the charger into broke, so i could not charge it. Now the second phones slider has not worked since i got the phone, and since the touch screen requires that I hold the button i want for about a full minute before it does anything. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!

Brought it on monday as an exchange for a sony ericsson z710i(like a brick) ! i was a bit dubious at first having read so many negative reviews. Think the phone is fantastic!..looks cool, sounds good. A timeless classic in my opinion.

I love my pink LG chocolate i find it really easy to use the touch screen however if anyone else touches my phone they give it straight back becuase it goes into the menu without them knowing the sound quality is perfect the battery last for around three days depending on how much you use it, you can store quite a few songs on it unlike my last samsung phone where it only fitted four songs, everyone commments on how nice it looks. i love the fact you can have any song you like as the ringtone you dont have to stick with the phones ones. love it buy one today

I have had this phone for a couple of months now, and it is a really easy phone to use. I dont know why people moan about the touch sensitive buttons... they are no problem at all. This phone is alot easier to use than the samsung e900's touch pad (which my boyfriend and brother have). So, if you are thinking about getting this phone...i would suggest to go for it. It is an eye catcher, and you will feel good using it!

I got myself an LG Chocolate, but had to go back to using my old phone because it drove me mad! It's been designed to look good on spec, but it seems that LG forgot that people need to be able to use it really easily! I've owned a LOT of mobiles over the years, and this is easily the most frustrating!

I hate it. It's full of problems. I bought it for my daughter for xmas and whenever she is texting she nearly always cancels it by mistake as the touch sensitive buttons on the front are a nightmare, like the Samsung E900. I like the design, it's very attractive & groovy. All in all I think the touch sensitive buttons let it down. The Sony Ericcson W550i is super. That is my current mobile & it's the best. If you love your tunes you should buy it. It's the LOUDEST MOBILE EVER!!!!!! &It's amazing. Even though it's not expandable memory, it comes with one of the highest built in memories, over 200gb. BUY IT. IT'S RARE & LIMITED EDITION & ONLY A FEW STORES MAY HAVE IT, BUT 1 WENT FOR 3K ON EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Lmao. =]

I love the look, the feel etc of this phone, it looks so sexy & I found it easy to use. My biggest problem & this is the fourth one (not my choice) I have had is that the signal is awful if any so it is pointless having it as a mobile...... & the software keeps crashing, I used to spend half my time switching it on & off now the latest one I have got has completely given up! such a shame. Onto a phone that works. I would love to say I was just unlucky but 4 phones is taking the mick really... DON'T WASTE YOU MONEY

hi, i must say i loved the look of this phone and just had to have it. on getting it home i began playing with it, as im sure we all do when we get a new phone. i tried to set the message tones after finding only 4 sounds and not very good ones at that. after about 20mins trying to get the alert loud enough to be heard. i gave up. the ringtone volume is great. i would have been able to hear it ring while in my bag. the message tone volume not a chance! i also found navigating around the menu extremly fiddly to say the least. i went back into the shop the next day to see if there was something i wasnt doing to get the alert loud enough to hear. it wasnt nothing to do with me it was the phone. the manager got a further 2 phones out to try to see if i had a faulty handset. nope they were all the same. so i have given in and swopped to a sony w810i. and up to yet it is ok. stil early days though. all in all a rubbish phone would not recomend.

what is it with idiots writin reviews? the phone is awesome! maybe not so good for older people who arent so ....technicall but why are people writin reviews saying "it only holds ten songs..its to sensitive...it gets fingerprints easily..." SHUTUP! it comes with a screen cleaner that you can clip on, it says on the box it is TOUCH SENSITIVE the mp3 player is great and the memory is 128..holds alot more than 10 songs!!its very loud and txtin is also very good, i advise you to get this phone but not if you have sausage fingers or you are a man that complains about everything!! it is amazing so stop writin reviews sayin that yours doesnt do certain things, its obviously faulty cause myn does everything!

The Chocolate looks great but is dreadful quality! Don't bother getting one! The touch senstive pad is too sensitive and I can never use it in a noisy place - texting becomes impossible... too much vibration maybe?! Save your money - I'll be getting rid of this as soon as I can; I've never been so disappointed.

This phone is uselss! The touch buttons get annyoing after a while and altohugh the camera is good everything else just gets confusing. give me my old nokia any day. The keypad seems to get muddled and times so when i press right it goes left! Not the best phone in the world and also the volume is poor and muffled! Save your money!!

Though there are number of roumers, I personally love this mobile. Its really a good one to use. The quality of photos are amazing. I am more focused on using the camera and sending them to a PC and this feature is at its best.

great phone.yes it is a little sensitive on the keys but when you have got used to it , its really one of the best on the market right now great functions.reception great.I,m up and down the country and never had a problem.

I have the LG now! It really is very good compared to the sony ericsson k500i i had before. the camera doesnt sound great but it really is very good! my brother has a 2 meg camera on his phone and the pictures I've taken compared to my brothers look completely the same! the touch keys are acctually really good and the screen doesnt look tacky compared to some phones. only one thing i would say is that it is a little bit annoying that when you have the slide up(without numbers) it locks quite quickly. but other than that. THE PHONE IS AMAZING AND ITS MY BABY!

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE LG CHOCOLATE AT FIRST SIGHT. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD NOKIA PHONES BUT DIDNT LIKE THEIR SLIDE PHONES SO I PURCHASED THE LG. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PHONE AND IN MY OPINION THE OPERATION OF A NOKIA PHONE IS FAR SUPERIOR TO THE LG. I LIKE THE TOUCH OPERATION BUT IT IS FAR EASIER TO SEND TEXT MESSAGES USING A NOKIA. THE CAMERA IS EXCELLENT THOUGH. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL BE PURCHASING ANOTHER NOKIA PHONE SOON.

iv had my fone 4 3months n already i had 2 send it back 2 b repaired (although for free). the colour went funny on the screen n yes it does get dirty, on the other hand it does have good memory considering no memory card, and i love the colour (pink). the touch screen part doesnt bother me cuz im used 2 it now. im glad i got this fone but LG need to sort out their technical stuff cuz the same happened with my last Lg fone.

Not the reliable phone that I would have expectedfrom a brand such as LG as it has established itself for reliable phones. Great phone that looks brilliant but after a week it wouldnt switch off-when the thing went off either the screen or touchpad stayed on and it loaded again. Also it is constantly covered with fingerprints and you cant use it after eating. And I'm scared to put it in a pocket with anything (especially money) in case it scratches. Someone really should have thought a bit harder about the practicality of thing. The memorys decent but I WANT TO BE ABLE TO EXPAND IT!!!!! The touchpad doesnt work in winter and the top right "softkey" work when it wants, uually when I dont want it to. Annoying.

LG looks sick guy and has an awesome camera but touch buttons a USELESS they work when they want to and this phone doesnt even have infared! its looks are great but looks arent everythin. when yur sending a bluetooth file yu cant do anything else meanwhile like on 02 ice this phone is alright but could be better.

5 words to sum up this phone-all show and no go! Thought about getting one of these after my horrid RAZR got stolen(thank god). Borrowed a friends for a few days and it was abysmal. Sure it looks great, but thought every other feature was tosh(can't even use bitmap files or photos over a certain size as wallpaper, can't adjust the sms alert tone etc) Am now the happy(so far) of a SE K800i. Plus, looking around, it seems the only users of the Chocolate are the adidas abd burberry clad, educationally subnormal chav crowd! Which says it all.

Yes! I am getting this phone this week and I am really looking forward to getting it. I know a few people who have it and it looks amazing. I know some people said that you shouldn't write a review unless you have the phone and for all those people that think that it is only chavs that get this phone you are really wrong. You are only a chav if you want to be a chav or are very unfortunate in chavvy looks. I am not a chav and I'm sure those other people who were writing in text language weren't. They were probably just rushing. Anyway, I cant wait to get this phone and I will try and make sure i dont get it scratched and I dont waste the battery!

i would give this phone 7/10 because although stylish the phone has its faults.sending files over bluetooth takes ages,the sound quality isn't always good &the touch buttons are often tricky.the phone is mainly good but i wouldn't recommend this phone to people who get frustrated easily or haven't got time to fiddle about with the phone to do a simple task.

KG chocolate looks great however the screen has given me nothing but problems, the screen keeps freezing and turning white. i am gutted cause its only a few weeks old and im hoping i can get a refund.

Terrible, had it for 3 months and the screens gone funny, buttons don't work, cant see photographs. camera is not good at all... claiming acciddental damage after i thorw it against a wall and going to get a Samsung d900 instead.

This is a great but doesnt have the best of batterys. Does anybody know a unlocking code for it? I cant find a free one anywhere. Can anyone help?

i got this phone a few months ago and i think its rubbish it kept on crashing i tuk it bak 3 times to get a new 1 and its still the same the screen kept on flickering to now and agian

This phone is rubbish. I would advise anyone thinking of getting it to just don't. The buttons stop working when they want... The touch sensitive buttons don't work while you're charging aswell, which is super annoying, and other than that its just a phone with some red lights and a normal camera... Big waste of money!

I would like to thank the Engineer who is designed this phone. Let me tell you how i came to buy this phone, i first wanted to buy Nokia 9300i or N73 before i knem the existance of Chocolate phone. As i was going around shop looking for a phone to buy, i saw LG KG800 i then fell in love with it one time, but i couldn`t buy it that same time, i went home to think about it, the following day i bought it without hesitating. So now i own it. The phone is user friendly, smart n portable,stylish and you can enjoy it, as of now the LG KG800 Chocolate is the best mobile phone i ve ever seen.

Brought this phone off eBay, Simfree version. Great phone would recommend to anyone. Very easy to use and has fab touch buttons. Only bad thing - gets greasy easily andmay get scratched easily as well.

In my opinion i think the phone is lovely. I have the LG pink chocolate phone and it is soooo nice. The memory is good as i have got alot of pictures, videos, messages and aslo songs stored on it. I have not had one problem with it yet and i have had it for about three months now. I thought that the touch buttons would be a problem for when i was on the phone to someone but they actually lock which is an advantage. There is not much i can really say apart from that it is a wonderful phone and i am loving every minute of having it.

I have had this phone for roughly three months now, and have only had the patience to use it for 1 month. It looks delicious and the functions sound fantastic and top-technology. However, I am very unimpressed. If you are planning to mainly use the text function, I advise you to steer well away from the LG Chocolate. The buttons are tiny (and i dont have big fingers, I'm a lady!) and need to be pressed hard to register the letter. I have found myself going back several times in one text to add letters. Texting is slow and cumbersome and the predicta-text forgets words added to the dictionary. When charging the phone, it has a fit if you try to use it. The screen flicks from menu to menu and you cannot use it at all unless you unplug it, which is not good news as the battery is rather poor anyways. For phoning, it is average. The on/off button on the side of the phone means I often turn it off mid-conversation if I hold it in the wrong place. The camera - I have no complaints about, though I dont really use it that much. The best thing by far about this phone is it's look; yes, it is sleek, and yes, it is rather sexy (as mobile phones go). But what it boasts in appearance, it lacks in functionality. I have switched back to my trusty old Motorola Razor and sold the LG on Ebay. Sorry LG, you could have done better!

i was tempted to buy this phone, but my 2 mates have one and they both hate it. they say screen freezes often, reception is never very good, and the battery life is poor. other than that, i suppose it looks good, and nobody really wants a phone to make calls anymore do they?
