Reviewed by Imran Khan on 28/06/2009 Probably one of the worst phones I have ever ever used. If you have ever used an iphone or a blackberry you will be very very disappointed. The Cube menu system is a joke and the UI looks tacky, it is like a very poor copy of the iphone. Rating:
Reviewed by Paul on 28/06/2009 Where to start, got on o2 crashes every day batt out to fix. unresponsive, music player a joke, lg pc suite even worst, 5 megapixel camera is bad my 2 mp nokia far better. I could go on, brought this phone on a 24 month deal based on this review what a joke you gave it 5 stars now 4?, how can you guys get it so wrong, heads should roll. Have given it to my 2 year old at least she has fun spinning the pointless cube. [Editor's reply: We're guessing that you have this phone on Orange? Our review at mobile-phones-uk.org.uk does comment on problems with the Arena on Orange. Remember that most professional reviews are based on unlocked sim free versions, and once networks have locked the phones and installed their own propretary firmware, things can start to go wrong.] Rating:
Reviewed by Shane on 27/06/2009 Sent this back to T-mobile after 3 days. Clanky software, slow and just feels restricted. The above review really makes me question if the reviwer actually used the phone or just watched a youtube review? Rating:
Reviewed by Paul on 27/06/2009 I'm pleased to have the Arena on T-Mobile after reading all the Orange customer complaints. Overall it's a good phone - yes it can be slow at times and sometimes it does go off into a world of it's own (I just leave it to sort itself out). I was Silverstone all last weekend and had no problem seeing the screen - it also took some very impressive video. The call quality is first class and I've never lost a call yet. To start with the battery life was poor but it's getting better all the time now. Sorry for all you Orange guys - mine's fine! Rating:

Reviewed by Robert on 23/06/2009 Well my initial thoughts on the Arena were great, and after all is said and done, its still great. I needed a phone with WiFi on for backpacking (to keep up to date with my e-mails mainly), and a slew of other features I had on my prefer list, the Arena ticked almost all of them. The phone itself is great, its fantastically quick to text on using the qwerty, I can text at almost typing speed after less than a week of use, and find the touch screen in general easy to use. The phone is fast and given me very little problems, WiFi works well, camera is good quality (with a little playing with the settings), video and music quality is amazing with Dolby enabled. The phone came with T-Mobile branding, I removed these easily by debranding the phone per instructions found online, I've now ran 2 different open firmwares, V10M_02 (the latest I could find) and V10B_02 (not as new as M), the M version adds some negligable features, but also makes the phone slighly more unstable, I've had a number of crashes and resets with that firmware, the B however removes a couple of settings and features (nothing I'd miss mind you) and I'm yet to get a crash on my phone since then. Overall, its not the greatest phone in the world, but seeing as I'm a PAYG customer, I get what I can afford from eBay, and the Arena cost me £151, a lot less than the HTC Touch HD which was the rival phone for me, the Arena might not be perfect but it does the job, for anything more I'm happy to use my laptop. A couple of pointers for those having problems; battery life can be extended by turning the phone to GSM mode only through connectivity > network selection > network mode, this removes the high speed internet but saves on battery a lot (just enable when you want to browse the net). I've found locking the phone on the main menu seems to make it crash an awful lot more, so avoid it and lock the phone on the home screen. The camera can take some real good shots once you've got used to the ISO settings, ignore the auto feature its not that good, simply play around and after a while you'll know which setting to use depending on the light. To use the GPS you need to be in an open area, either the GPS is weak, or the software is crap, hopefully its the latter and we can expect a nice upgrade soon. To turn the GPS into a Satnav download the software amAze and install. For album art on the phone the only (known) ways to get art on there is either syncing with Windows Media Player, or embedding the art into the tracks. Thats pretty much it that I've found for those little niggles, I hope they help someone else on here :) Rating:
Reviewed by Jess on 22/06/2009 I had this phone from Orange on an upgrade and I have to say I've had no problems at all with it and I love it. I think it's a great IPhone alternative and would recommend it to anyone, yes, even on Orange. The camera is really good, not so great in the evenings but it does the job. Video is good quality too. I've even managed to get a funky skin for it too so when I'm drunk and drop it it doesn't scratch!!!! Rating:
Reviewed by Sam on 26/05/2009 Where do i start with this phone?, Well it freezes a lot, dead slow and not responsive all of the time, will not view my files which i want to view, and when i rang up customer services, all the person could say we can offer you "like for like", which i didn't want, so they didn't meet customer requirements, i was very flexible in saying how id get a lower contract, less text and minutes, even pay more so i could change the phone, But NO!, If you want to get a new phone and your looking at the LG Arena, don't waste your money! And don't bother getting going with dialaphone. Rating:

Reviewed by A McDonald on 16/04/2009 While promising some very outstanding features, when I actually got the phone it was buggy, I had to input the first phone number 3 times before it was able to save it. Being DivX certified I believed that it should play any DivX file provided it fell within the resolution of the phones screen, however it would not play any previously made DivX files until I made them with the included converter (which by the way distorted the movie's aspect ratio when I went to play it) To add insult to injury I also had put about 7gb of mp3's onto it, created a playlist and it took a full 3 minutes for the music player to load up each and every time until I deleted the playlist, which now takes a still-feeble 10 seconds (being a once Sony-Ericsson user which is practically instant) if it has problems dealing with the 7gb of mp3's now, then how many hours will it take to work if I added a 16gb memory card of music?? LG has built a killer phone but has given it an infuriatingly slow processor (or either bad software) - avoid like the plague!!! Rating:
