Reviewed by Tracy on 08/12/2011 Biggest load of rubbish out there as far as mobile smart phones go! Mine started to malfunction 2mths into contract! A complete ripoff!!! I sent it off to virgin technical team & they state water damage! its bin no where near water & its kept in a protective case in my bag at all times when I'm not using it. I dont use it in the rain and it been no where near water! I think its a disgrace that these mobile phone companies & service providers are using water damage across the board to avoid any liability! I wish I had the time and energy to take the manufacturer & service provider to court. this can't be legal! All you legal representatives out there please look into this and put some helpful info out there to tell the common Man exactly what his/her rights are in this instance!!! I will carry on & on if its not addressed soon! In this economic climate we cannot afford to loose money willy nilly!!! Rating:
Reviewed by Dutch on 07/11/2011 Basically it's a great phone, except for the internal memory. It's a joke. Despite a huge SD card with plenty of space you're constantly bugged with 'low memory' warnings. Most apps demand being installed to the phone memory, which is 150MB. So after installing some basic apps to truly unlock the power of this device you're left with about 15MB free space. Irremovable bloatware by the provider adds to this problem. Three stars. Reviewed by Aardvark on 01/11/2011 Ok I have to agree on the qulaity of the camera, but its as good as the one in the new Desire S and it is OK in an emergency. If you want a camera, buy a camera. Mine has been stripped of all the crapolla and had a new Android install. It syncs all my contacts with my laptop via wifi connection every time I come into sync range and it does actually sound great. I am old and I struggle a bit with the screen and the size of the buttons and so ima get a stylus to work with it. Mine is set up to syc my hotmail and gmail accounts and will also search out for free wifi connections and use these in preference to my data quota. In summary, I love it and mine was given to me pre used 18 months old Rating:
Reviewed by Jazra Aribaz on 31/10/2011 The Battery is so poor on my phone. I have had it for 6 months and it begins to die like anything. I turn off all applications to ensure nothing is draining it. After a full charge within 10 minutes it is allready on half battery! Within an hour it is dead! Phone is good but with my specific phone, it has really poor battery! Rating:
Reviewed by Peter T on 29/10/2011 The Wildfire is my first foray into touch screen smartphones since I tried an LG Viewty about 3 years ago. The good thing about this phone is the apps and the internet browsing, if you have a decent 3G signal that is, a lot of the time where I am (N Yorks) there is only a GSM signal and anything to do with the internet is painfully slow, but that is not the phone's fault. The GPS is good if there's a 3G signal, Painfully slow if there isn't. The camera is OK, why do people get hung up on how many Megapixels it has? As far as I'm aware few mobiles have an optical zoom or any of the other features you'd find on almost any dedicated digital camera, so if you want a good camera, go buy one! There are two things that this phone is none too good at:- first is making calls and the second is sending text messages, I am a guitar maker so I have fairly good manual dexterity, the virtual keyboard is OKish if used in landscape mode, but in portrait mode it's far too fiddly for texting or phoning, and BTW the phone app is portrait only. I've recalibrated the touch screen loads of times, but the keyboard is just too small. Screen clarity is brilliant. Ability in poor signal areas is not good either. I've tried my daughter's Iphone 4 and it is better but there is a vast difference in price, so not a very fair comparison. Convergent technology is where we seem to be headed, but we aren't there yet. What seems to happen is most of these devices do all the different things, Phone, Music Player, Internet Browser, Camera, Pocket computer but none of them as well as a dedicated device and for a mobile phone not to be much good at making calls or sending texts is daft Rating:
Reviewed by J on 29/10/2011 Though I originally reviewed this phone positively, I have had this phone now for 16 months. I have had several problems with the phone and will shortly be receiving my 2nd replacement due to technical issues. The phone is always lagging too, particularly with texting and typing in general. The phone tries to deliver a lot, but can't handle the weight of its own expectations. Rating:

Reviewed by April on 22/10/2011 After having this phone for 8 months I wont ever buy a HTC phone or a touchscreen phone again. It just had problem after problem. It drops calls all the time, the longer I had the phone for the worse the battery life got, which wasnt even good in the first place, and when I did charge it it used to cut out all the time and not charge all night, the touch screen didnt respond properly all the time, I would be texting and press the letter a and the letter p would come up? When I went on the internet it would scroll up and down the pages and enlarge them when I wasnt even touching it, facebook chat never worked properly, the processor is slow, sometimes it wouldnt even let me unlock the phone, it freezes all the time and the only way to get it to work again is removing the battery which is bad for the phone and the camera is awful. On the up side, the range of apps are great, the screen is bright, the size is good and its easy to personalize. But that isnt enough to weigh up the bad things, HTC have focused way too much on making the phone up to date and full of features without paying attention to the things a phone needs to work everyday! Rating:
Reviewed by Kate on 22/10/2011 I hate the HTC Wildfire. I want to remove 90% of the icons from the home screen but despite doing what is suggested, the icons refuse to disappear! The phone does not come with a user "manual" just a quick start guide with minimal information. The online user manual seems to relate to a completely different phone as it refers to items on "settings" that do not exist on my phone. It is not at all user-friendly and, for me, has a phenomenal amount of totally useless and unwanted applications. Is there any way of removing all this unwanted stuff? Rating:

Reviewed by Liam on 04/10/2011 I've had this phone for just over a year and it freezes very occasionally and sometimes I have to "force close" the apps and messages. If there's a lot going on within your phone, the phone will respond slowly, but does so nonetheless. The camera shutter speed could be quicker, though, as it sometimes lags when you move the camera it can smudge the picture slightly. The whole system is all round very easy to use and very easy to work out. I would reccommend this phone entirely, and I will continue using this phone for quite a while yet! Rating:

Reviewed by Bharat on 30/09/2011 This phone is terrible, its been over a month since I got this phone for free from my office. And this phone has caused nothing but pain and suffering to me. Mainly because of those wrongly placed "Home" and "Search " button. you are in the middle of something and by mistake a part of your hand touches those button, it jumps to home screen. This is supper irritating. Atleast HTC could have used proper tactile buttons instead of stupid touch sensitive buttons for these functions. And overall performance is POOR, and bad battery life, phone is almost dead if you are loading any web page with too much of stuff on it. And totally forget about watching videos on youtube, just forget it. Rating:

Reviewed by Howard on 24/09/2011 Was expecting great things from this phone. Basically it's quite a good internet browser and the voip works ok. But as a phone, virtually useless. Screen is far too sensitive, so scrolling through numbers, it's dialing out before you know it. Ring volume on mine frequently sets itself to zero meaning missed calls! Keypad frequently freezes and only thing that works is to turn it off and on again. So no good in an emergency. My advice is don't buy! Rating:
Reviewed by DougieB on 22/09/2011 This phone is good at everything except being a phone. It doesn't answer calls. It's receptions seems to be rubbish. When you do get a call and turn the phone when lifting it it cuts the call off. Most times when I take it out my pocket it says "No service emergency calls only" and you have to switch on and off numerious times to get it to find a signal. Now it has started telling me I have no Sim card in it. Also the push switch for volume control is right where you hold it so you tend to turn off the ringer volume when you are on a call - a TERRIBLE piece of design. If you want a shiny toy get it - if you want a decent phone get something else ! Rating:

Reviewed by Jane O on 16/09/2011 I hate this phone - I have now had it for 6 months and I still hate it. It calls people without warning, it is difficult to kill a call, it is almost impossible to send a text message because the screen is so small, I can't accept picture messages despite trying all the settings under sun; in short ticks all the right boxes, but in actuality it is the worst phone I have ever had. Luckily it is a phone given to me by work so I didn't pay for it - which is how the other 200 people at work feel about this phone. We all hate it. Rating:

Reviewed by Ranjan on 15/09/2011 I am using the Wildfire since May 2011, almost over 4 months. I feel happy with the phone. I can say it is not atall bad. Before this Wildfire, I was using IPHONE 3g, then Blackberry Curve. So when I purchased this phone and start using it, I got disappointed, as it is little slow/slaggish compare to thosed phones. I was thinking to chage the Wildfire again due to less speed. But due to work load, and unavialibility of enough time to go and purchase a new phone again, so I keep using the Wildfire. Slowly as time passes, the wildfire become dearer to me. Now i dont feel it is a slaggish phone. I downloaded some apps, modified certain settings, which improved the phone's performance. It's screen is butter smooth to opporate. Only thing is I need to kill the unwanted apps in certain interval. But I agree the 5MP camera is not a best caemra. Sound quality, browsing, calls all are very good. Overall My experience is good with the phone. I love it. Rating:

Reviewed by nathan on 10/09/2011 I know when people read reviews, they tend to look at the average and think to themselves, 'the average rating looks promising so i wont bother too much about reading individual reviews'. While that may be true PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IT MAY SAVE YOU FROM WASTING YOUR MONEY The HTC Wildfire is one of the worst phones ever put on the market. There are so many flaws with this piece of rubbish i cannot even fathom. For example, unless you have Hagrid like hands, it is impossible to hold this phone and even more difficult to hold it and operate it whilst it is charging. When calling, you have to wait a few seconds until you put it to your ear otherwise the call will simply not be made. The video quality is rubbish as it is only VGA so dont purchase this expecting to shoot amazing quality videos. Opening apps in general is a real pain as is browsing the web (use wi-fi whenever possible, the 3G on the phone is very sluggish). There is also no way to close separate web browsers. HTC has made no attempt in giving us any options for music playback - you simply have a list of your music and nothing more really - no equalisier, no sound enhancement, nothing. Viewing your videos is also very hard, as you have to sift through a library of your most recent ones which means if you do shoot a lot of videos, finding that old video of your cousin falling of your aunts coffee table is going to be one painstakingly long task. The phone also has only one primary speaker, located at the back, so if your hoping to play some music whilst popping the phone on your counter and surfing the web or something, the sound will come out muffled. Sound buttons are also located at the sides, and there really is no differentiation between increasing and decreasing sound, you sort of have to guess which is which or remember it. With no hard buttons, a lot of tasks on the HTC Wildfire are much more complicated than they should be. Something like making a call, will leave you fiddling about for minutes before you actually get through to the person you wished to call in the first place. The Wilfdfire does have a somewhat okay memory however if you have downloaded one too many apps and wish to delete that one, there is no way of deleting it from your ma in screen - you have to go into settings and try and find the options to delete applications from there. Switching on and off also is a missions wwhich you will notice if you do surprisingly purchase this phone. The screen loads up and freezes for a good minute or two. When turning off, you havve to go through various options. When you do turn the phone off, it will start to load and then proced to switch off. There will probably be a couple of more things i have missed out but that basically is pretty much it. Unless you want to punish yourself, do not waste your hard earned dollars on this trashy phone. Reviewed by Kay on 18/08/2011 I have an HTC Wildfire and it drives me crazy to be blunt for SO many reasons. But the thing that really gets to me is that it constantly replaces words I've typed in a text message with it's own words out of it's dictionary! Most of the time these are words which aren't even remotely related to what I typed originally and forget using text-speak, you end up having to replace a load of random words! If you make a typo it will add it to the 'dictionary'!! I can't get rid of this so-called 'feature' I've even tried deleting all the words from the dictionary but it just adds in anything I type in subsequent text messages (even if I type gibberish) and makes itself a new one!!! Argghhh!! One day this thing is going to get me in real trouble, some of the things it puts are things I'd NEVER say, even offensive things!! HELP!! Is there anything I can do to make this phone send what I actually type!!? KILL THE 'DICTIONARY'!!! This is worse than predictive text. Rating:

Reviewed by alex on 17/08/2011 i have had this phone for around 2 months now and and have to say that this phone is poor, there is not enough memory to allow the software and apps to run properly, if the phone has more than 200 messages or so it slows the phone down far to much. the phone reguarly turns its self off and will not turn on again without removing the battery and putting it back in, facebook and the web browser on the phone are way to slow to update and load even when using wifi. the only way to keep the phone working seems to be having pretty much no apps on it, keeping half of the home screens clear and to be constantly deleting messages, which also takes far to long to delete messages. i can not see the point lin the optical tracker ball on the phone as it has no other purpose other than in the camera. over all i regret buying the phone and wihs id of spent a little more money on either the desire, blackberry, nokia or samsung. Reviewed by Mike on 03/08/2011 I agree with all of the negative comments about this dreadful phone. Like many others I was very impressed with it at the start. It is very fully featured and considering I got it as part of a Tesco deal for £50 (yes ££50)good value as well. Soon after getting it I experienced the Battery problem. I could charge it all night and within three hours it would discharge. Surprisingly this was not consistant but it never held its charge for very long. Gradually all the other issues that others have mentioned started to appear. I reurned the phone to HTC who were very helpful but when returned it was the same. They said they had replaced the LCD or is it the LED (whatever). They also said they would send me a new battery which has never materialised. I returned it once more and HTC returned it to me within 5 days having replaced the motherboard. At first things seeemed ok but the creeping death has just reared its ugly head again and I am going to send it back tomorrow although I cannot imagine what is left to replace. I have tried to get my money back from Tesco but it appears to be better if I sell it to Mazuma who will pay £59. It is a great shame that such a potentially good phone should actually turn out to be such rubbish. To anyone contemplating buying one of these I would recommend they look elsewhere. Rating:

First of all connecting to the PC is clumsy at best; why a choice, just do all of the above automatically. This is compounded because you can’t do any two things together (except charging of course) and the only way to switch successfully is to remove the USB and plug it again. My other gripe is the battery life. Though I don’t find it as much of an issue as some I do have to think about my use during the day and ensure it is charging whenever I get the opportunity, this I should not have to do. Neither should I have to reduce the screen brightness and get app killer apps (slightly oxymoronic). I don’t have a problem with what the phone is doing, as someone said they are mini computers these days, just make the battery bigger (more mAh) please. If that means the phone has to be a mm thicker then so be it. Now for the positive, what a great little phone. I had a play with two other brands while choosing and this one was by far the most comfortable in the hand, feeling properly solid with the right weight. The screen and the whole touch thing was the most responsive too. It performs the primary function of making and receiving phone calls very well indeed. One last moan; when will the phone manufacturers realise that mobile means taking your phone outside and that means rain so the things have to be at least shower proof. Rating:

Messages take FOREVER to load and when trying to unlock my phone and answering calls the screan desides to brake meaning i have t to pull the batterie out. Sometime the whole system crashes and turns off. After playing about 3 songs the speakers blow so you have to turn it on a nd off before playing more songs. If a friend sends you a picture you cannot save it to your phone. however the camera and flash are very good and there are lots off apps.. not all of them open on the HTC though. Reviewed by Tony on 06/07/2011 I got this phone as an upgrade to my Nokia 6700. I'd heard all about androids and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Firstly it's a nice looking phone. Great colours, resolution and full of good apps. However as a phone I didn't like it. The charger did not work from a socket. I phoned people accidently. I struggled to send messages. I cut people off accidently. It wasn't intuitive. Unlike Nokia. I'm off to get a Nokia N8 now. It may not be as sharp but it is easy to use. It took me 10 days to use HTC. It took me two days to use a Nokia N8 Rating:

Reviewed by PeterH on 23/06/2011 I've had this phone for six months now. Biggest fault it has is it drops signal all of the time so sending texts can be difficult and people can't here you during calls. The music player is just about manageable. Good points are it is easy to personalise it by setting screens up the way you want. Touch screen and predictive text are excellent (keys are small though and I haven't got big hands). Internet connection is very good. Battery life was terrible sometimes not even lasting a day, but I downloaded a free app (advanced task killer) which stops features you dont use. Battery now lasts 2-3 days. Rating:

Reviewed by James on 03/06/2011 "Full flash support"? Haha, good joke. This phone doesn't support live wallpapers, and flash is literally non existent. Flash videos don't work. A lot of YouTube videos aren't able to.be played, especially with a lot of videos being recorded in 720p and 1080p nowadays. Home screen crashes a lot and asks you to force close, in which case the phone has to almost reboot itself. A lot of apps aren't available for this phone because the resolution and flash capabilities are so bad. It may look like a bargain from the outside, but you'll be much more happy on the long run getting a different smartphone with better specs... Unless you're a hacker who's able to root it. Reviewed by JoBlo on 01/06/2011 When I first got this phone I did think it was outstanding but after a few weeks of actual use, I would have to reduce that to a poor. The reason for this is that it reboots itself for no apparent reason usually in the middle of a call or the screen locks so that you cant actually hang up a call and you have to ask the other person to hang up, the screen is over sensitive sometimes and the menus are not intuitive, further the phone has a tendency to not ring even though the sound is up and it is set to general mode, not silent. Personally, this is my work phone, I definately would not buy this phone for personal use. Rating:

Reviewed by flio on 22/05/2011 had this phone for 9 months with orange and dropped it one time too many yesterday so the screen is smashed. Although it still works I have been struggling with it for a long time. 1. It is really slow and often unresponsive when using the internet, once I waited 15 mins for a video to load and it never worked. 2. The messaging got a bit messed up and my texts were being saved in the stream at the bottom so conversation was all backwards 3. Camera isn't great, had a nokia before and that was much preferable. I was however really let down by the camera and quality of pictures, objects in the pictures were very fuzzy with no clarity to them. Reviewed by matthew on 14/05/2011 Hi, i got my wildfire last week on wednesday, I loved it from the moment i set my eyes on it in the catalogue, and now you wouldnt be able to get me away from it. This smartphone is particulary the best in its range from my point of view, but the downside to it would have to be the automated predictive text. Now that is one downside but I've learned from plenty of friends and my boyfriend included that it picks up the way your writing and process's it until it finally configured itself to your typing mode which personally is rather great, and the other downer which is my last would be the syncronizing contacts from your facebook phonebook although this saves time and effort it caused me alit if trouble because i have a lot of friends and family in the states it syncronised them too and because of the superb touch screen technology built in it presses phobebook and decides to ring them now if its to do this it raises your phone bill to a phenominal charge. Now these are the only problems in my case but I'm hoping it all turns out great just like htc have turned out to be phenominal creators of this fine design. Rating:
