i bought this phone in february, i was expecting it to be amazing and do everything i wanted it to. i couldnt have been more wrong. it's easy to use, but when you want to change settings or set things up, it is very very complicated. it doesnt let me use apps, i can download them, but not off blackberry app world as it doesnt let me download that. it says i need to update the software but the software is fully updated. the only way to get the apps ( that dont work) is to go on the internet on the phone. now to the internet, i can only go on the internet if i am connected to a wifi router, which the only time i am connected to wifi is at home and i can go on my lap top, so theres no point. i dont know if there is something wrong with my phone or it just doesnt do anything, but this phone is terrible. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMEND IT! i payed £200 for that and it is deffinately not worth it DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!

I thought there could never be such a perfect phone but...here it is! the trackpad is way better than the ball, although at first it took some getting used to. i prefer the curve to the bold because the curve isn't a thick brick, its slip nd you can hold itwith one hand, not two. i used to have a bold, but after it kept on freezing and i had to always take out my battery and i wasn't the only one, two of my other friends with the bold had to do the take the battery out and theirs kept on freezing aswel. i then got the curve and its much much better! i would recemend it to anyone! it doesn't matter what type of person you are, it is a great phone to use and have. its awsome!

Had the Blackbery 8520 for approximatley 1 month now and as the reviews say a good level entry phone. If your use to using a computer the set up on it was real easy didnt even need instructions. If your looking at using it for internet access be prepared to wait for downloads like the old dial up computer would do. I didnt find any problems with the QWERTY key board then again i havent used one on a phone before but i found it quite easy. Sound is very good and all the programmes east to access and use and for a mobile the camera is prety good to. Would have had 5 stars if it had gps but chose this phone for the size, fits in your had real easy.

I had a BlackBerry 8520 in November 2009 and i got rid of it in January 2010 for the main reason that o2 don't supply the internet with it until i found out that they are now doing the BlackBerry Simplicity sim deal so am off to get it again. Yes the phone does not have a high quality camera or a high screen resolution display but what do you expect from an entry level BlackBerry? If you don't like the phone then simply don't get it. Personally i love this phone it's light weight compared to the 9700 and it doesn't have that little chrome finish around it which just looks tacky and horrible. This is the best phone that i've had so far far better than the iPhone 4 (which is a load of poo) and other smart phones! 5 Stars. Well Done BlackBerry!

Absolutely brilliant little phone. It's really simple to use and doesn't take long to get the hang of even though the layout and features are a little different to most phones. The keys stand out so they are easy to use, the screen size is just perfect and the features included like the mouse you get when you access the internet makes it all the more worth while. The bonus is that you don't have to spend alot of money like you do on the bold. Its good for people who have not had a blackberry before and for those who do not wat mega big contract phones or over priced pay and go phones. Just be warned you do have to pay around £5 extra a month to your network if you are a pay and go customer to be able to access the internet (WIFI) unless you have WIFI at home which you can link it too. I 100% recommend this phone.

i only bought this phone today, and im still getting to grips with it. it seems easy enough to use, slightly annoying about having to pay and extra £5 a month for the internet package. As far as people ranting on about the 9700.... guys get a grip, its not just a few extra pennies for it, it costs £379.95 where as the 8520 only costs £147. I fail to understand how thats a few extra pennies?

ti is an outstanding phone i will recommend it to all people who are required a business phone. it has the new track pad which is much better than the trackball mostly because my last blackberry bold had a track ball and it did break once or twice. the new 8520 is better than all curve versions out but if you like a camara i advise you not to buy this phone because its only 2 megapixal.

Got this phone for my 16th birthday and i am really impressed. NOt only is it affordable for teenagers and young adults it comes with the brand new trackpad technology, much better that the ball and the slick shape is amazing. I find connected to wifi is quick and as i got 6 months free internet and mail it is perfect for me. Yes you could buy the bold which, for £130 to me is not worth it for the small ammount of other features available on the phone. Fantastic buy and i plan to keep this phone for a long time yet. Well done Blackberry.

As my first smartphone i'm impressed with the 8520. Easy to use and fills my requirements (tho they are basic). However my wife has the 8900 and i have to say it is def a better device. main difference for me is quality of the screen. All in all i'm happy with the phone and at this price would have no doubts recommending it.

Absolutely brilliant phone - The keyboard is so slick and the tracking is fantastic. I like the wi-fi option to hook up with my sky broadband with the router. The apps you can download are very good with breaking news etc. The camera is quite good and I can live without GPS as well. For the price this phone is brilliant and would recommend to anyone!

I have got a blackberry curve recently and it is a great phone! Compared to the bold, it has exactly the same things, just a different cover and design. My friend has a bold, so we are constantly comparing mobile phones. As for the keyboard, it is not as fiddly as it looks and I don't have the smallest fingers either! The curve is a very easy, compact and useful phone, sort of like a small computer. With its design I won't get bored of it by next month, it looks pretty fashionable. With the curve I have everything in need at my fingertips. Now it has become my biggest essential :)

after reading all the review in this site, and also do some extensive research on this phone, i think, i m going to get it as my present on my 21st bday on this coming july. hehe. i love it, i do fall in love with it already. its true man, those who r complaining about the major concerning on the camera, the gps and the 3g thing, maybe they r right, n complaining of it because they need it. but as for me, and other youngster and student like me, at my age, there r no use of gps n 3g things. wifi is good to replace 3g. in my place, 3g is still not a major way of connection except for in big city as kuala lumpur. but wifi is every where now in my country, so i find its fine enough for me. yeah, the camera a bit lousy, must admit it, but, m going to get a canon pro camera soon, so still no biggies for me. for some one who love style, elegant and yet living a normal youngster, this curve 8520 is a must gadget to own. =)
