Should you buy an iPhone 4? Yes. No two ways about it, I have never used such a touch sensitive phone before. I'm new to the iPhone but everything came quite naturally. I've had a few touch screen phones before but the iPhone really has that Wow factor. My girlfriend has the Galaxy S which feels cheap and tacky, I prefer the iPhone display as in comparison the iPhone looks a lot sharper. When they first came available I held back because of the reception issues. One of my friends got one several weeks after - I've tried to make it drop calls and lose its signal but it just doesn't happen. I have no problem with signal with mine, either. I am guessing it was with the early models. Either way, networking the phone with wifi was a doddle, connects seamlessly between networks. Functionality it works great and has plenty of things on there, anything that it doesn't you can download. I'm amazed at how much the phone can do with apps, I can use it as a remote control for my iTunes (turns your iPhone into an iPod) - works a treat with a good house party. The speed has to be mentioned, it is very quick and smooth when gliding through screens, applications, windows etc. Texting is great, I've had a Nokia N97 Mini and was concerned I may not get the feel for texting on a touch screen, but Apple have made it very easy and it's hard to mess it up! Top phone if I'm honest. Beautiful to look at! At the end of the day other phones are trying to *beat* the iPhone, that's their goal. They have already admitted themselves that the iPhone is superior - and it's not going to change anytime soon!

TERRIBLE!! We run a national company and were going to roll these out across the company. So my partner and I road tested them and the amount of calls that dropped is just too much of a risk! Even with the so called protective case it still drops a lot of calls. Now we are replacing it with another phone possibly a blackberry Torch or similar. Very disappointed to say the least as all our office computers are Macs etc, but this is a serious let down. Hopefully the arrogant Mr Steve Jobs will sort out his team for the iPhone 5. The competition must be rubbing their hands with joy at such a monumental mistake by apple.

Got this iphone as my first one, i had a blackberry curve 8520 previously and looking back i sort of wish i had kept it. I do really like this iphone, it is very nice feeling and good quality, the screen is crystal clear and has such high resolution compared with my blackberry, the camera is very good, with the flash i can take pictures at any time and the video in HD is amazing. Although with it being an iphone it is very annoying having to use itunes to put ANYTHING on it and seems to take a very long time. it is very difficult to sort pictures into albums and has to be done via a computer (and when im using my phone instead of a computer as mine is broken, this makes it very difficult) The touch screen is very good but can become annoying when trying to send a quick text as the keyboard letters are small and the predictive guesses unusual words rather than the average ones. As far as i am aware you cannot send images via bluetooth to other phones that are not an iphone. The battery life is very poor, i put mine on charge all night and dont use it too much during the day because i am at school and it normall will go flat at about 5pm. so doesnt even last 12 hours really. So i am definatly considering finding some way of going back to a blackberry

You definitely must try Apple Iphone 4, that is the most amazing phone, machine, computer, everything, if you jailbreak it it is even more powerful than any other phone, actually I do not consider my iphone as just a phone, it is way better than just a phone, so you should consider to try it, cuz you will love it, the camera is great, HD Video and it is for real HD the pictures are even better, and the apps you have more than 2000000 of apps and most or at least 90% of them are free (jailbreak) if not then most of them are pretty cheap is a Hell of a Deal... internet is damn fast the way to use it is so easy, for real any kid can use it, and you can manage all your email accounts together, no matter if you are a CEO or just a cashier guy, it works great and the design is nothing compared to it. I LUV U Iphone 4....

I recently got a contract upgrade to the iphone 4. i am 100% happy with the phone, there is nothing that i could fault with it. the ammount of brilliant applications there is to install, the front and back camera and the sensitive touch screen are all fantastic. the internet on the phone is also brilliant, instead of viewing the itnernet through the 'mobile internet' as you would with other phone such as a blackberry, the iphone lets you view the internet as you would on a computer. also i haven't had an difficulties as yet with loosing my signal if holding the phone a certain way, i was told by my phone provider that this was only the first few batches of the phone and that they have since been recalled. overall very happy and the only thing i have to worry about is how i'll be able to find a phone any better once my contract on this is up (which is also particularly reasonable on an 18 month contract) ;)

I agree totally with the reviewer Pete totally,i hate it when (apple fanboys) treat everyone else stupid, they would buy anything as long as its apple branded, its only apple fanboys who are sad enough to queue for a product its not us,i have owned the iphone4,i had the 3g one but sorry to say for what they cost they are not world leading in every dept of the phone. One example camera you can buy a £50 Lg with a 5mp camera, once you've got an iphone you have to spend even more money in buying apps to keep it going simple as that.Though my iphone 4 had to many niggles so had to return it.Blackberry now

I recently upgraded from a 2yr old Samsung Omnia (Windows 6.1) to the iPhone 4. Without doubt the Apple product is of superior build quality, touch sensitivity, screen resolution etc. It is a wonderful plaything, and the free Apps available from the App store mean you can spend (or waste?) hours draining the battery. It is very difficult to put down. There is a but coming, you could see it a mile off. As a smartphone for business use, even the Samsung Omnia is a better phone, so I'm certain newer Windows Mobile or Android phones would also be better - because the business world runs on Windows, not Mac OSX. Even as a basic phone it falls down at the first hurdle; start dialling a number on ANY mobile phone and your contacts list appears and gradually filters to show you the matches - not on the iPhone 4! Of course, "there is an App for that" as all Apple fans love to retort, but surely this is a basic feature you would expect on your phone? The Apple Productivity apps aren't free, Windows Mobile Office had Excel, Word, Powerpoint pre-installed. There were no apps to download for the Omnia, but it didn't need any - there were no gaps to fill. The iPhone 4 is a toy, albeit a highly desirable toy. It is addictive, if you own one you will not want to part with it. But it's not a business phone - and it is too expensive.

The I-phone 4 is all I could want it to be, brilliant screen, better camera and video (which I didn't have before). I have got a free case from Apple, but only because they were offering them I'm using it simply to protect the phone as prior to it arriving I was using the phone with no problems with dropped calls, loss of signal etc so I really don't know what all the fuss was about! Don't regret buying the phone at all and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

This phone does everything else except what I want it to do. Make phone calls and receive emails. It is bulky and awkward to hold. It drops the signal and this is not because the way I am holding it, it lives in a case. Out of ten emails received 4 of them have no content and it also removes any attachments. Spoken to Vodafone & Iphone they cannot help but offered a replacement phone. Problem is not unique to my phone a friend of mine is also experiencing same problems. This is not a phone, it’s a gadget.

I've just got the iphone 4 & must say I'm blown away by it. Everything is easy to use & the quality of the apps & build is fantastic. I've had no dropped calls, signal problems or proximity sensor issues (& that was before I updated to 4.1 - those issues are now fixed in 4.1). & TBH I've had other phones in the past which required firmware updates (nokia n97 anyone?) & they didn't seem to receive the slating that the iphone 4 has got. I think it's because it's apple that people love to have a dig. It does so many things, far better than other phones & I've had a lot. I had a legend until recently when I compared the apps on android with my wife's 3GS & saw how amateurish everything on android is compared to the quality of apple. & moving onto the price of apps is outrageous on android. Eg. hungry shark on marketplace =£2.49. Hungry shark on appstore =59p. Over a 2 year contract if you're paying 5 times the price for apps on android (well the decent ones which don't look like they've been developed by a 5 year old) then the price of an iphone starts to look like a bargain as many of the apps I bought on android for my legend were around the £2 to £3 mark where my wife was paying 59p... so 10 apps costing me 25 - 30 quid where they would cost a fiver on iphone.

This phone is fantastic, the email on it is amazing, I was a bit unsure how good it would be as I communicate a lot by email, you can see all your folders on one screen unlike the Blackberry and it is so user friendly. I must be one of the only people who doesn't have the internet at home and this phone is just like a mini computer, it evens comes up with the full web pages instead of mobile pages, wow! I can't see what all the fuss is about the signal dropping, I have had no problems at all with it. I am just so impressed with it that I have to recommend it. I have had my phone for about a week and a half and I am still finding out things about it. I can't see me going back to a Blackberry, well not for another 2 years!

I am new to owning any Apple product so took a risk buying a iPhone 4. I considered a HTC Desire but after looking at several (3) that mates had they just didnt have that WOW factor that the iPhone has. I also was swayed by how good the appstore was and sheer amount of accessories available for iPhones vs other manufacturers phones. For eg you can go into Tesco and pickup a accessory for a iPhone but for a HTC they will be much harder to find. I have used 2 iPhone 4’s one is owned by me and one is owned by a mate. Both of the iPhone 4’s have suffered from antenna drop when holding the phone without a case. However in my experience I have never had a call drop or the call quality suffer despite this bar drop. This whole issue has been blown out of proportion by the media. Batttery life, this is amazing compared to that of the HTC Desire which requires a charge every single day. My mate who has a HTC Desire has his one plugged into the charger all the time. I turn my phone off at night and have 3G turned off and I get around 4-5 days use even with playing around with apps, surfing the net over WIFI and making texts and phone calls. The OS on the phone is so easy to use, pretty and is very intuitive. I had a Nokia N97 before and the Symbian interface is terrible in comparison. I also found in my opinion that the responsiveness of the touch screen was much better on the iPhone 4 vs the HTC Desire. The iPhone takes only the lightest touch to flick between menus where as a much firmer touch is required on the HTC. Yes the iPhone has negatives being: no custom sms tone, no delivery reports for texts, no flash support etc. However despite these flaws I have so far loved owning the iPhone and I will definitely buy one again in the future and don’t feel at all disappointed that I didn’t jump on the android bandwagon. The appstore is only getting better and with the stronger anti piracy of the iOS system I cant see many developers running over to Android appstore for long.

Its true to say that Apple have dedicated followers that will buy anything marked Apple and the iPhone4 is not excempt. However my wife insisted on getting one because it is the best looking phone one the market, however I travel in my work and instead ive defected to the HTC Desire, im not happy about it but after upgrading my iphone3g to OS4 and finding it had deleted all my contacts and calender entries and Apple simply saying "oh yes it does that" ive had enough. Maybe in a few years Apple would have sorted themselves out. The HTC desire seems very good.

Best signal I have received for my area. The Desire has too many niggles and just doesnt feel like the finished article. The Samsung is huge and doesn't have a flash on it. Both feel cheap in the hand. There are perhaps reported niggles with the Iphone but lets be honest, they are number in style and quality and as such are there to be shot down by the others.

Probably the best phone i've ever owned, had the htc hero before this but android wasn't really anything good when compared to ios4, not had a single reception issue, probably the best app store, really good camera, best music player on any phone, 1* reviews? seriously/

Great phone just not for me in my area. Very easy to use, good build quality, great features, facetime works well, the camera particularly impressed and there are some great apps. BUT, for where I travel and work I could not get a reliable signal which was important for work (Manchester, Leeds, London), one time dropping a call with the same person 3 times and I was in the middle of Leeds (not the countryside). I should add I had read up on the antennae issue and even watched Steve Jobs presentation so can confirm it was not just a weak spot issue, I just do not think the ability to make a call is as good as e.g. a Nokia. Other quibbles, I don't think there is a loudspeaker option for calls (could be wrong) and its awkward on interactive calls when you need to do keyboard entry at the same time - the screen blanks on a call -again may be possible to change this. Also some really bad apps.....number is no guarantee of quality. My advice is to buy / upgrade by phone / internet and use the 7 days grace under distance selling to give it a good test in your area. Then return if it doesn't fit your personal needs. Good luck.

Got this today im very impressed!!!.. Previously had the white 3g & 3gs & can honestly say this is better than both.. Screen quality is excellent & ive had no problems with reception no matter how hard i try!!!!... Really wanted the white version but got bored of waiting however im really liking the black one and glad i waited for a new batch to be made cos it seems apple have ironed out all the problems.. Being an apple fan i must say its usually best not to get things when first released as they can have a few niggles wrong with them but as i said these are usually sorted from the 2nd batch onwards... All in all a brilliant phone just hope i dont drop it!!!!!

The iphone 4 is very good but I think that the look of it isn't as good as iphone 3g's or iphone 3g. I also think that the iphone 4 is too fat!!!!

I luv Apple but don't buy the iphone 4 until Apple sort out the antenna and the phone can at least do the basics...that is make and receive calls! With this one they have got it badly wrong.
