The Samsung SF-560R is a recently released “MFP” (Multi Functional Printer) but highly unlikely to be suitable for any business, as it is unable to be connected to a computer and therefore incapable of printing. Furthermore, no drivers are supplied with the SF-560 and there is no driver to be had from the Samsung website nor anywhere else on the internet. After a full day’s struggle in a futile attempt to enable printing, I returned the SF-560 for a full refund following a heated debate with the manager. Fortunately, I was able to point out their own advertising card which read: “Multifunctional Printer – Copy, Scan, Print & Fax”. I was sold a printer when in fact it was unable to perform the tasks it was purchased to accomplish in the first place. Incidentally, the manager finally admitted that even he was “surprised” that this machine was not designed to print. Then, another oversight on my part was the failure to notice the absence of a flatbed for copying and scanning – the SF-560 only has a pull-through roller copy function. The absence of a flatbed copy function will undoubtedly hamper most office requirements as this precludes the copying of one page of a book, an identity document or any items which remain clipped together. The pull-through roller copy function only allows one single piece of paper to pass through at one time. Having said all this it would be unfair to rest my recommendations on this negative note, save to say that I do recommend the SF-560 for home use only, where it is not required to be connected by a driver to a computer. The fax function has all the bells and whistles and performs very well indeed, but do not purchased the SF-560 for any other reason at all as you will be sorely disappointed.
