I've owned mine for almost two years - it's been a difficult relationship and now patience has run out and a divorce is looming. Batteries burnout the charge frequently on the satellite units. Sticky, non-responsive keys, Poorly designed menu system - But hey, for a complete rundown on what these phones are about, scan all the reviews below. THE BOTTOM LINE: it beggars belief that BT offer such a faulty product for sale to the general public. MY ADVICE: Look to truly superior brands from Philips, Panasonic and Siemens instead.

Both my handsets have now failed after 18 months use. They won't retain their charge after lifting the phone from the charging unit, the blue screen dies, you can't answer incoming calls as the phone cuts out or just goes straight to ansamachine. Changed batteries but made no difference. Waste of money!

Out of a quad pack, 1 didn't work out of the box, and the remaining 3 lasted about 2 years before hitting the issues as described in all the other comments.

Have just found this site but wish I had found it earlier to warn others not to buy under any circumstances. Was very happy with mine when new and as a consequence four friends bought the same version for themselves. ALL five sets (a total of 20 handsets in all !!!)have proved VERY problematic after first 12 months of use so there must be many design faults with these phones. DO NOT BUY. All five of us have now experienced ALL of the problems detailed on these previous reviews. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....so try and speak with someone who has had the misfortune to buy this rubbish before you buy ANY phones with a BT logo.

Have had these phones for a couple of yrs; started off fine but then one handset began to give intermittent problems (cutting out on pick-up). Now I can't answer the second handset at all (outgoing calls only), and the first one only when it's on the base unit. Sometimes they don't ring properly - I only hear a short "chirp", but the caller later tells me they let it ring 10-12 times. Bad experience - haven't tried replacing batteries, but from reading others' experience it may not be worth it...

I was just checking if there was a common fault with these phones as ours switch themselves off all the time which is a shame because I liked the phone while it worked. Like others wish I'd read this before I bought them. Can anyone reccommend a good replacement? Are all BT phones the same?

A nice idea for a DECT phone seriously let down by poor power/charging circuitry. These seem to fry the AAA NiMH batteries and the ones supplied with the phones often only last a few months. If your phones constantly cut out throw the batteries away, clean up the contacts and get some higher capacity ones. Look for 950mAh or higher and charge them fully first in an external charger.

The phones just cut out when I try to answer one. I bought them as a replacement for the BT phones I had previously which were also faulty. Definitely not a good buy.

Rubbish, bought a 3 pack, and after 6 months, only 1 working - have replaced batteries in them, still not working. Never again.

Quite the worst cordless I have had the misfortune to buy - why are these things so rubbish? I must had had 5 or 6 sets in 10 years and they all go wrong. This has lasted just a few months and is now landfill material... BT should be ashamed of itself...

I wish I had read these comments before buying my new bt 1400 phone. If it's not on its base, I cannot answer it. The green 'answer' button does not work.

My new synergy 4100 will not receive incoming calls unless I run back to the base and return it to its holder. Presumably the green button on the handset is faulty. I wish I had read these reviews before I bought it!!

Have had my twin replaced and the replacement is now doing the cutting out thing, just as the original did. Useless phone don't waste your hard earned cash on it. Do us a favour and don't buy BT phones until they have given us all a refund!!

i have just read the reviews, because i have had the same problems, i had an earlier model, which did the same thing, so i thought i would be crafty and buy the same again as the warrenty had expired, then take my original one's back for a refund, but they had changed the logo slightly, so no joy. and surprize surprize this model is now broken as well, what a pile of junk !!!

I had this phone for one year worked fine then suddenly started cutting out when it rang. Extremely annoying, I am now having to buy a new phone as I have decided to place this one where it belongs in the bin! However I had the model before this and it was great the only thing was in the house move i lost it!

I'm having the same problems as other reviewers. We were given this phone as a present so haven't got the receipt to take back. There is definately a fault with this unit. It started to fail by cutting out when you try and answer a call and it doesn't seem to matter how long you leave it on the cradle or if the batteries are replaced. It is extremely annoying. My brother, sister and mom all have this phone and are experiencing the same problems - my moms phone crackles constantly which isn't a phone line issue as her other phones work fine. Donot buy this phone as it is extremely unreliable and judging by other reviews replacing the phone doesn't resolve the problem.

Phone keeps cutting out when not on the cradle when an incoming call comes in and keeps searching for the base then will continue to ring and also when you try to add contacts or do other menu items. Very annoying. Changing batteries makes no difference. Have the same problem on both of my Studio 1100 BT phones!

Don't buy this phone. There is clearly a design flaw as so many people are seeing the same problem. BT should have picked this up by now and issued a product recall notice. The issue is that whenever a key is pressed on the handset it switches itself off and on again. This also happens when lifting the handset from the charger or answering a call rendering the phone useless. I bought the 5 handset version and this is happening consistently on 4 of the 5 handsets and intermittently on the fifth. I've had them for about a month. They worked fine for about 2 weeks then the problems started.

Really bad phone. Bought the twin set. One lasted about 3 months, the other managed to keep going an extra couple of weeks. Had them replaced, but they just keep cutting out, not letting you answer or speak to the caller and the battery life is awful. Do yourself a favour, steer well clear!

Thought it was just my phone. Batteries also exhausted. Keep getting cut off mid-conversation. Had phone less than a year. Very disappointed

This phone is absolutely poor. I bought the twin handset version and it is a waste of money. Had them for a little over a year, batteries are exhausted and don't hold charge, base stations are erratic, sometimes connect other times it doesn't, answerfone works OK though! Handset is not very nice to use. Save your money, steer clear of BT. All the reviews I read for Siemens and Panasonic are great so guess what I'm buying next! I will never purchase BT equipment again - ever!

This phone is a very good phone but suddenly the bedroom one has stopped working i cannot find my reciept so quite dissapointed as i have only had this phone a couple of months

I bought the phone in May 2007 and did not like it from the start. When it rings, I pick it up but it does not allow me to speak to the caller. I called BT helpline and they told me I should remove the phone from the cradle periodically. Which I do. I gave up in March this year and bought a BT 1300. It has faults too. I have given up on BT will not buy another of their phones.

An appalling phone, bought two sets of three and both base units have failed. The first went within 3 months and the second after 11 months. I do NOT recommend that anyone buy this product.

I HAVE ALREADY RETURN ONE HANDSET AFTER THREE MONTHS. THE NEW HANDSET ALSO GONE WRONG WITHIN THREE WEEKS OF RECEIPT. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

I have had my phone for 9 months but now the handset heats up when it has been on charge and does not hold a charge anymore i have replaced the batteries with rechargable batteries and it still cuts out when the phone rings. I have been happy with it up until now.

This will be the 4th set i will be retuning.. it has got to bt the worst phone ever.. all off the 4 sets have gone faulty within 4 weeks of purchase!! BT were no help what so ever.

I am about to return this phone for the second time the first handset went faulty within 3wks I got a replacement only 2wks ago and its also faulty it keeps cutting out during calls and the sound distorts even when in the same room as the base unit,and it continually crackles ,my old diverse was 100% better.
