I've had mine for 5 years and now the battery needs replacing, which i did and now it's just 'searching' and no 1571 or able to make calls-'not possible' even though the battery bars are full. unsure whether it will ever recharge. up to this point it's been a very good phone. condsidering a replacement if the new battery doesn't recharge..

Have had these for five or six years and replaced batteries more than once. Apart from that no real problems.

I've just given mine away on Freecycle after advertising them as not working so someone must like them. They were my second BT cordless phones (never again) and I was definitely not impressed. Searching...shows fully charged until it comes off the charger and then screen blanks out (and that was with new quality (Duracell) rechargeable batteries etc etc.

I own two BT Freestyle 2200s. They worked fine for about 12 months. The length of use then dropped dramatically over next 12 months to the point that they are no longer usable at all. We hardly use our phones so it's not down to overuse. We can't even make 30 sec calls on a full (3 bars on display) charge now. No good in an emergency. I'm going to check out Skype phones but will probably revert to reliable phones with cord which have always worked ok for me.

Not fit for purpose! Same as everyone else, battery life dreadful, from about six months after purchase. Can't leave it off base as it dies almost instantly and can't have very long phone conversations either.

Purchased phones about 2 years ago. Fine for the first year. Now, as everyone else has commented, battery life is very poor. Looking into buying new phone - but will be avoiding BT phones

Mine has lasted about 18 months, but the battery life has been getting less and less. I can't put it on speakerphone now or have it away from the base for more than a few minutes. I won't be buying a replacement from this range.

Battery life dreadful. Bought new batteries and at least two of the phones now display "not possible' when trying to connect a call. Frustrating. Instruction booklet has no troubleshooting guide. Using corded phone till i decide what to do next.

Battery life appauling and answer facility has just given up - but still answers the call so cannot go through to 1571. Needless to say, just out of warranty.

Absolutely disagree with the reviews below. I've had a pair of these phones for 4 or 5 years and they are in constant use. Absolutely no problems. Easy to use, simple and basic, lightweight, clear screen, okay to use anywhere around my house including the bottom of my garden and in my neighbours house. And I've not had to replace a battery yet! One of them has just packed up so as they are so cheap I'll go for a replacement rather than pay twice the amount for a phone I don't know.

disposable trash - I've had 2 different sets of digital cordless phones from bt recently and they've both been binned within six months (just long enough for most people to have binned their reciept) I assume the problem is down to the batteries wearing after constant recharging when placed in the cradle- tried to take them back to asda without reciept and needless to say got nowhere. Get a corded phone until the technology's improved

Useless - the handsets won't register with the base station so unable to use it. There is nothing in the user guide to help fix the problem. only an 0870 number to phone which puts you on hold forever and a day... Do NOT buy one of these.
