Had this several years and no complaints except one niggle: if you pick up when the answer function is working, the answer machine does not cut off. So effectively you can't use the answer machine as a call screener and if you don't get to the phone in time, that's it.

The buttons are poor, after 13 months of moderate use several of them do not work. I will not buy this model or similar again. POOR value.

I purchased my Synergy 700 telephone answer machine in April 2003, from Comet, and went to buy additional handsets for my new home, and Comet have told me they do not do the phone or handsets anymore.
The phone is easy to set up and use and the great thing is you can take the phone out the back garden and never miss a call!
