BT Diverse 6450 Consumer Reviews (11 reviews)Write a review of the BT Diverse 6450! Please share your experiences to help other people choose the product that's best for them. This is a review site, not a forum, so please don't just ask questions. Please do not use swear words or offensive language, and please, no advertising! Reviewed by John Ledger on 26/10/2011Will not accept the pin number that has previously been OK. Cannot find the BT section to show how to reset pin. Help number on base is not recognised. Nor is the web address. Any suggestions please? Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Roy on 26/01/2011 I use a 6450 base with a mixture of five 6410 and 6210 extensions. There have been some problems, eg the 6450 answering m/c not taking messages, but have resolved them - the latter by using a reset procedure (which is not in the manual, but which Vtech posted in response to a query). Another problem was an extension in the next door room to the base, kept going into "searching" mode. This I rectified by buying a Diverse Repeater/range extender. I like the intercom and call transfer facilities, but I agree with another reviewer that the system should have been designed so that you can see the names of other extensions, not just their extension number ... resolved by keeping a list of extension numbers and their corresponding room names beside each extension. All in all not a bad system, but despite the BT name on it, you can get no worthwhile advice from BT about it. Not easy to see incoming caller numbers when extension sits in a brightly lit or strong daylight location, eg on a window sill ... the 6400 multi-colour screen series, are a bit better - visability wise - than the 6200 black on blue screens. Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Julie on 05/10/2010 Started out an excellent phone and I was impressed with everything about it. Unfortunately the answering machine cuts people off half way through their message and asks for a code. I bought two handsets and one has started to switch itself of so I've bought new batteries to see if that resolved the issue. Now the answering machine has started beeping like it has a message waiting. I switched it off for a couple of hours tonight and it's stopped for the time being but I think I'm going to look at buying new phones as it's just not worth replacing the base unit. This is my second diverse phone, the first was brilliant and lasted for years, unfortunately this one is not of the same quality. Come on BT get your finger out and give us a quality phone that we'll love!! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by spider murphy on 11/03/2010 ok phone but started to play up after a year old , wont show name or number of in coming calls .. Rating: ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Neville on 10/02/2010 I use this base with 5 additional handsets, one of which is 100ft away in my garden workshop. The phones have been excellent though I have problems sending the phonebook to all handsets when the base has been updated and I wish the intercome function showed the phone names as other BT handsets do. There's little point in being able to label them if the only handset that can see the label is the one you're holding! Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by John D on 25/01/2010 Nice looking phone with facilities but so unreliable. Same problem cut off after aprrox 6 seconds, makes it unusable! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Ghafoor Akhtar. on 21/01/2010 Totally waste of money, bought this phone just over a year ago, crackling sound, answer (Green) button keeps sticking most of the time, handset switches itself off even when the battery is full. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by suzerne on 06/01/2009 mine is doing a similar thing after only a couple of years, and it thinks there are still messages although I deleted them they keep flashing up on the base set. Plus the answer buttons on all 3 handsets take several pressings of the red and the green to get it to answer. If you put it to your ear thinking it has answered the shrill noise of the ring is an unpleasant shock. It is only about 2 years old... pitiful that BT can't make a reasonable quality product. I now have to find a new set up. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Nick on 29/12/2008 I tried new batteries but still have the same problem. They may have sacrificed build quality for features as mine has also after only 2 years 7 months got the same problem. It now turns itself on and off every 6 seconds which rather limits my phone conversations so I've had to stop using it. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by J Wilson on 03/06/2008 Not had this phone long, it was expensive but being a BT phone I expected a lot from it, one of the handsets has now broken down, it crackles so loudly you can't hear the other person. I am very disappointed. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Markybhoy on 10/12/2007 Excellent phone with SMS, sim card reader and answer machine with downloadable ringtones and wallpaper, also transfers photo's from your PC easily. After 3 years have now developed an annoying problem with the answering machine, it keeps switching itself on and off repeatedly when handset is on base, bleeping when going off then coming back on ... Has anyone else had a similar problem ? This apart, these phones are top quality and look very smart ... Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
