Reviewed by Big Al on 06/05/2011 Yes Luke, mine does fit in the 300mm gap, but when you open the door to 45 degrees, the overall width is more than 300mm. Caple have admitted that this is in fact the case, and that the cooler has to be pulled out of line with adjacent base units. There is apparently a problem with the glass door pivoting within its own width, though I can't see why this should be the case. Maybe your base unit doors are set further apart than 300mm. I can supply photos of the problem to anyone who might be interested. Rating:
Reviewed by Luke Shipham on 02/02/2011 Great little product that DOES fit in a 300mm gap not sure what your other reviewers are on! Nice finish with wooden shelves and quiet. Love the internal lights and mine is very quiet. Rating:
Reviewed by Big Al on 29/11/2010 The big problem with this cooler is that the door scrapes against the adjoining base unit if you install it, as the manufacturer suggests, in a 300mm space. This is because the glass door does not open within the width of the cooler unit. Luckily, our kitchen fitter had not finished his installation, and was able to widen the gap to 305. Even then he had to set the unit hard up against the left-hand base unit so that the door would clear the right-hand one. If you want the unit to be placed centrally, you have to pull the unit out so that the whole door thickness is in front of the adjoing units, which looks awful in a run of fully-fitted base units. I would not recommend this as a built-in cooler. It needs more space. As the previous reviewer said, it does look nice - some consolation!! Wickes sell a similar product with a glass fronted door which does open within its own width. I know which one I would go for now." Rating:
Reviewed by Mel D. on 07/10/2008 I had this fitted in my new kitchen and it is noisy emitting a constant loud hum and has gone wrong twice now. When the service engineer came out he said that this model frequently goes wrong but it does look nice. Hoping to get a replacement this time. Rating:
