Reviewed by HUGH MICHAEL on 08/11/2011 I purchased a bfw440 wine cooler in December 2008 and in July 2011 a fault developed with the lower cooling zone. When i contacted Baumatic i was sold an extended warranty and an engineer called to investigate the problem.I explained that according to the fault finding chart the lower fan had a fault. The engineer then proceeded to stick a screwdriver into the fan to check if,in fact it wasn't running.Had it been running before it certainly would not have been after this type of diagnosis. A new fan was ordered and after more than a month the engineer again arrived to change it only to discover that the fan supplied was an incorrect model. I have now been waiting approximately 4 months for a new fan and this week i have been told that, although the engineer now has the correct part,he has sent a sick note in and,in all probability will not be fit for some considerable time. When i asked if the fan could not be collected from the engineer or if he could send it on to me for someone else to fit this was totally rejected. It would now appear that because one person is sick the service for Scotland has ground to a halt.DEPLORABLE SERVICE from start to finish.DO NOT BUY BAUMATIC IF YOU WANT GOOD AFTER-SALES SERVICE! Reviewed by Claire Hughes on 12/09/2010 Purchased this to insert in new kitchen island and was really pleased with looks, capacity, and the fact that it was for both red and white wine. The instructions in the book indicates that the ideal storage temperatures for red wine is 15.5 to 18.5 degrees. Personally I like red wine to be served at 18 degrees. I couldnt believe it that it will only heat wine to 16 degrees despite a higher temperature being in the book. I rang the company and they said I was the second person that day with the query. So now I put my white wine in the fridge and I simply use this product to store all my red wine, but keep it turned off and let the underfloor heating do the work where my wine is consistently around 18 degrees. Still looks nice but a bit expensive to just be a cupboard. Rating:
