Reviewed by natasha on 04/01/2012 this machine is a nightmare to say the least. ihad a whirepool before and went 7yrs no problem but this model the door says its open and won't wash and the bearings have also gone and i have only had it 23 months this breakdown time is now the 7th time i have called an engineer to to take a look at the machine Rating:
Reviewed by Anton on 21/06/2011 Yep. Two years after buying this machine at Tesco we got the rattle of death. Bearings gone. In Ireland Whirlpool gives two years guarantee, but here in the UK their reliability lasts only one year. We will buy a Bosch this time. Rating:
Reviewed by Barry Cornes on 17/06/2011 This machine often refuses to spin and just leaves the washing soaking wet. Adding items to achieve a spin often works, but it can take anything up to ten attempts to get it to work! What use is an A/A rating when you ahve to spin for ten times to get it to work? Slimy grey/brown deposits build up within the machine and can find its way on to your clothes, getting ground in and being very difficult to remove. Seems its an issue with liquid detergent at lower wash temperatures, despite us using a washer cleaning fluid regularly in the machine. Was told to use bio powder at high temperature for maintenance washes, but this hasn't worked, we still get the gunge building up and getting on the washing. What use is a washer that dirties your clothes? Don't go anywhere near this machine, a waste of your and my hard earned money!! Rating:
Reviewed by Sam on 02/08/2010 Awful machine. Bearings went within 6 months of owning it - the whole drum needs replacing when this happens. Whirpool engineer admitted this model has this major fault. Took almost a month to get the part replaced too. Has just happened again - loose drum and tell-tale brown gunk on clothes. Of course just out of warranty. Will never go near another Whirlpool product again as long as I live and hope others take note. Rating:
Reviewed by John Gallantree on 23/12/2009 Very, Very Unreliable. Just out of warranty and they are asking for £180 to repair this as the main computer unit went. Rating:
Reviewed by carl on 30/11/2009 this machine was wicked i have since had problems with it had it checked by a independent who said it seemed to perform ok then got it home again it worked twice more then refused to fill with water and now won't hold the door shut and to top it off just about every light on the control panel is flicking on stay away Rating:
