Reviewed by George on 01/05/2009Cant really add much more than has already been written by others - A great machine that is built to last. My previous machine was a space age looking Hotpoint, cost me 600 quid, broke down within warranty period (1year) and then a further 3 times (owned for 4 years) costing me a another 200 quid!! The program panel failed last month and rather than chucking good money after bad, I shot the hell out of it with my air rifle!! should have done that a long time ago! YeeHa Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by m wilson on 31/05/2008 Having bought this machine just after xmas 2008 I have to say it is FAB!! It's the pick of the Miele bunch at this point in time (in terms of price vs options/performance). As noted by the previous respondent, I realised that Miele upgraded the spin speed of this model to 1400rpm which means it is in effect a W3740, as this extra spin speed was the only difference between the two models. W3740 is substantially more expensive (here in the UK) but this is a 3740 with 3722 legend. Why would Miele do this? I'm not sure, but it may be due to phasing out and fitting the last of the W3722 badged machines with the electronics and bearing assembly of the still current W3740 which they still have in production. Makes economic sense. I picked up mine from Comet in the UK for a bargain £399 (the transit carton had been damaged) if you use your noggin you may too. Even at it's current retail of £599 it's still a bargain when compared to the rest of the Miele range; not to mention other manufacturers offerings that are (in my opinion) just not comparable. In the modern world much of the value and truth in the old adage 'you get what you pay for' has been eroded by manufacturers desire for increased profitability at any cost. They make 'mostly' cheap tat with designed in failure. Miele is a last bastion of quality. We should applaud them and support them. End Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by H. McStay on 14/04/2008 Great washing machine, with which I got a 10 year warranty. Much better than my previous machine in every aspect. Price may be a bit steep, but I suppose you get what you pay for. If you can afford it buy one, you wont be disappointed. Miele state that they engineer the machines to last 20 years. Note that the 10 year guarantee is a periodic offer from Miele rather than standard with the machine. It seems to be offered every four months or so - the current offer is 'only' a 5 year guarantee. Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reviewed by Michael Williams on 07/01/2008 This appliance is exceptional, so quiet in operation, and the piece of mind the 10 year warranty gives lets me know it is going to stand upto our young families washing needs. Without a doubt the best feature on here is not a washing programme it is the child lock function, our delightful daughter knackered at least one machine by tinkering while mid programme our previous machines. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone. Another safety function which is little spoken of is the fact the drum won't open if the machine is not on, very useful in stopping little ones from spin cycling the pets!!
