Reviewed by David Bradbury on 04/11/2009 As a residential House Manager, I have recently replaced 1 of our washing machines in the laundry, for a Miele Prestige 6. Can I say what wonderful machine, as you can imagine the washing machines get a lot of use as there are 52 apartments, this machine has an "Express" wash of 32 mins it saves a lot of time and not to mention energy as this is an "A Plus" rating. The build quality is second to none, and its so quiet and vibration free its definitely the "Rolls Royce" of washing machines, it may be more expensive than other machines, but well worth every penny, it will probably last you 20 odd years. Reviewed by James D on 09/07/2009 Had 2 Hotpoints in 5 years and nothing but trouble, noisy on final spin, repaired twice each under warranty. When the last one was read its last rites I asked the engineer to recommend a washer and without hesitation he said Miele but be prepared to pay.Found this one for 525 in March with 5 yr guarantee.Simple and easy to use, no gimmicks just a well built washer which is noticeable when I tried to lift it.All metal drum, no plastic paddles that snap off, clunky metal door.Built in Germany and is quality. Washes well and clothes are noticeably cleaner, even on 40 deg wash compared to Hotpoint which did not remove stains at 60 deg.If you are looking round stores just give them a test and you will see the difference in build quality. The salesman will all try to sell you a cheaper one with extended warranty as that is where they get commission. After all the aggro with breakdowns on cheap ones its peace of mind. Price is the objection but quality isnt cheap, the quality is as good at lower price range as at the top end.Expensive models just have more features. If you can stretch to one you wont regret it or look back. Rating:
Reviewed by Chris Semple on 30/01/2009 This machine is easy to use and, compared to any other washing machine I have owned, is quiet. The machine works out the amount of washing and adjusts the time accordingly. Rating:
