If you're short on space then this is better than nothing. To be fair, it has to be better than washing everything by hand, but it's short on features to say the least. With a capacity of only 5kg it won't wash large loads, and with a spin speed of 1000rpm what it does wash will come out pretty wet. It isn't even that cheap. For example the WML 520 has a bigger capacity, faster spin and retails for less. The only reason for buying this top loading washing machine (incidentally Hotpoint's only top loader) would seem to be its bijoux size. At 40cm wide it is considerably smaller than the standard 60cm models. But beware that it is actually slightly deeper than standard models, even if just by a couple of centimetres. Unlikely to suit a family, but could suit you if space is at a premium.
