Reviewed by Sonya Phalp on 16/03/2008I purchased this produced as it was highly recommended as being 'whisper quiet' with a large drum size and was much easier for me to house than the separate washer & dryer I was using. I immediately noticed that it was far from 'whisper quiet' and within 6 months of having the machine it faulted, the dryer unit had burnt out! This was amazing to me as I did not use the dryer very often. The engineer told me that the machine was not level & that was the reason for the noise. However, a spirit level proved this not to be the case & as such the engineer said that the noise was 'normal' A further 3 faults later I was given another machine (although I did not want one after a year of constant problems). The new machine arrived and after all the problems I had suffered with the previous machine I was extremely reluctant to use the dryer and only used it for emergencies, however this did not stop the problems!! When using the dryer it would short the entire electrical system or not dry the clothes at all. The machine then again faulted & as the warranty has now run out I have decided to cut my losses and get a new and different model. I am extremely disappointed with the machine, it was not a cheap machine & due to its faults I was not able to use it to for what it was intended - a washer/dryer. I would advice anyone thinking about buying this machine to think again. Rating:   Reviewed by kaa16th on 20/09/2007 Had the machine replaced as it didn't work properly from the moment it was delivered (it wouldn't stop filling with water, a fairly big problem when you're using the dryer!) Took two identical visits from repair men to decide it needed replacing. Customer service was terrible, including telling me I'd been called to arrange delivery of the replacement when I hadn't. The last appliance of any kind that I'll buy from Hotpoint. Rating: Reviewed by Annoyed - Glasgow on 13/11/2006 Absolute rubbish. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT (unless you want your kitchen turned into a swimming pool). This machine is not silent, not fast, not efficient (takes 3 hours to get clothes to slightly damp from mildly damp on a drying cycle) and you use the dryer at your peril as it may cause malfunctions in your washing machine. The customer service from hotpoint is terrible and the product is not much better. Save yourself time, money and anguish by buying another make. Rating:
