I bought this 'super silent' machine in 2003. It has NEVER been super silent - in fact it sounds like a boeing 747!!!
The drum has now packed up altogether and although the engineer knew what was wrong when the job was booked, he never ordered the part, so although he came round to announce that he knew what the problem was I would have to wait for him to come back at a later date to actually fix it. He knew
10 days ago what part was needed, yet did not order it.
The washing comes out dirtier on the machine wash wool cycle than it was when it went in - with brown sludge all over the clothes - needing another wash (on another cycle!!)
I would NEVER recommend this machine to anybody - nor an extended warranty with Hotpoint.

I bought a BWM 12 in September 2005 and installed it in October.
Within a few weeks of light use the bearings started to make a horrendous squealing noise. An engineer decided it needed a new Spider Bearing and
returned to fit one the following week.
This lasted for another couple of weeks before it got very noisy again
which resulted in a visit from another engineer.
A second bearing (the third including the one that was fitted from new)
was fitted and that too lasted a couple of weeks. The second engineer
reckoned he had been to a number of similar faults and it was a common
complaint with this model. He reconed it might bed in with use so I am giving it until Easter to see if it improves. If not I shall be complaining loudly to Hotpoint about their so called "Super Silent" machine.

Very good washing machine. Cheap for integrated.
