Reviewed by Donna on 06/06/2011 I have had my hotpoint for about 18months it too broke down just after the 1 year warranty, the concrete block had become dislodged now after a week holiday and a lot of washing to do my machine is putting mould on to the clothes and it doesnt finish its cycle all the lights start flashing, waiting for an engineer to come out in 2 days and they have sold me some mould repellent at a cost of £25, I too have never been so dissatisfied with an exoensive washing machine before, i am hoping they replace it with a new one. never hotpoint or indesit (same company) again. Reviewed by KSH on 17/02/2010 I have had this machine for approx two years and am very dissatisfied. After just 1 year the concrete stabiliser block completely disintergrated. The machine is very smelly and I have so many cases of my clothes being ripped in the machine that I no longer put delicates in the machine. We now have the bearing gone and are waiting for an engineer to replace it. Would NEVER BUY ANOTHER !!!! Rating:
Reviewed by jmv on 12/01/2010 I loved this machine at first. It was quiet and did the job well. The clothes came out clean and it had a variety of programs to chose from. But after a year of using it, it started making so much noise during rinsing and spinning. The whole house vibrated because of it. The engineer came and looked at it and said that it was because of the thing that looks like cement (apparently it weighs the machine down to make it stable)disintegrated! And that is only after 1 year. Good thing I bought insurance with it and they are going to change it for a new one. Though I am still waiting for it.Its been almost a month of waiting now. I wouldn't recomment this particular machine. I am currently looking for a better washer dryer. One that would last longer! Rating:
Reviewed by cristina on 08/01/2010 My machine broke after 1 year and 2 months and the call out charge is 16.49 pounds per months for 10 months which is 165 pounds, almost the price of a new machine, In Portugal , the guarrantee is 3 year, why in the UK is 1 year. 20 years ago the machine would last 20 years, now the last 1 year? Are they made to break and not to last? What is going on? should we do like the caverns and wash by hand, if you take it to the laundry it will be cheaper, how much does it cost to wash your cloth these days? If I use it once a week only? 42 times an year, this one cost me 337 pounds, it will be 6 pounds per wash. I can spend probably less in launderet . taking into account that they last an year only. regards Rating:
Reviewed by Maria on 24/06/2009 The machine broke after 1 year and 1 week of buying it - so, of course, the warranty had expired. Called the Hotpoint engineer (£90) and after him the machine broke again 2 weeks later - basically, the drum is not well aligned... Never a Hotpoint again. Rating:
Reviewed by Pierre on 07/03/2009 Had this for 2 years, pump gone after 1, electronics dead after 2, not happy with HotPoint 'customer service' - 5 year warranty? Yes, I'm sure, but the £100 call out charge for the HotPoint engineer seems excessive. Might well be easier avoiding this brand as these products should last for longer than 2 years before problems start arising. Rating:
Reviewed by PATRICIA on 04/05/2008 after 1 month it stop working which was replace with a new one which broke down after 10/11 months repair man came couple days later claims it will take a week not feeling confident about it..........waiting...... Rating:
Reviewed by valerie on 21/10/2007 Recieved it 4 days after ordering, fantastic machine. You can adapt the programs to suit by changing the temperature and spin speeds which alters the cycle time as well. Can't find fault and it is soooo quiet. Rating:
Reviewed by Bonnie on 13/10/2007 Had one for a year and it been outstanding Rating:
Reviewed by cessna on 29/09/2007 Had one for a year and it been outstanding.Quiet, large drum and washes good.Has programs for duvets and bedding. Rating:
Reviewed by Costas on 16/09/2007 when my old hotpoint broke I decided to go for the AQXXF 149 because of the write ups I saw on internet saying how good this machine was . Purchesed one online from John Lewis ( too expensive at 349.00) and after having it delivered on thursday 7/09/07 and having usedf it for 8DAYS - maybe washed 4 times , it suddenly developed a fault , my clothes are stuck inside , pulled the plastic emergency clip suppose to open the door , guess what the plastic came out in my hands . I have now an 8 day hotpoint , broken , my washing inside , and they tell me they will contact me to see what will happen , Rubbish machine in my case , will never get hotpoint again Rating:
