Reviewed by Darren on 18/01/2012Purchased this machine based on Hoover's good reputation.... Never again! Its just 3 years old, It eats my sons expensive football shirts, its munched its way through expensive cotton towels, No fault can be found = no compensation (About £250 worth of clothing and Towels to date)It periodically leaks on the floor although no fault can be traced. Its noisey and tends to clank and bang despite not being anywhere near the 7 kilo wet weight limit. It recently failed to unlock the door when finished. The Hoover/Candy engineer called, diagnosed fault to be the motor??? He tried to fix it but made the problem worse, ie cannot be used at all now. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago....... no call from customer services when promised despite several calls by myself. Excuses range from engineer on holiday to not in the area.... Parts in engineers garage and not on the van..... Parts are today not even in this country???? Supposed to be sending engineer tomorrow now, although without a new motor thats alledegely not in this country, machine cannot be fixed. Always had Hotpoint previously 10+ years before bearings finally failed. Have today purchased shiney new Samsung machine, cannot possibly be any worse than the Hoover and there remarkably poor customer service. DO NOT BUY! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Nikki on 08/01/2012 Could not be more disappointed with my machine. PCB has gone again, forth time in 3 and a half years. Supposed to be free parts for 5 years but only if you pay £119 to their engineer. Part is less than £80, complete con, feel like I am paying for the part in with the engineer fee. Have always bought Hoover washing machines but NEVER EVER AGAIN! Rating: ![]() Reviewed by ali1802cat on 15/05/2011 Our machine is now 2 years and a half years old and I cannot wait for the day when it gives up the ghost completely and we have an excuse to replace it! It was just outside of the warranty when the door lock first refused to release and we had to wait an age before it would allow us access to the wet laundry. Ever since then it does this on a regular basis. The digital display often displays numbers which don't make any sense and for some reason the fabric conditioner won't drain from the dispenser despite the drawer being thoroughly cleaned out several times. I have always purchased Hotpoint washing machines in the past which I found to be faultless and my next one will certainly be a Hotpoint. I would never buy a Hoover washing machine again nor recommend the brand to anyone. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Tim Bohan on 07/02/2011 I bought one of these because my previous Hoover lasted over 10 years. The new one is 17 months old has been used twice a week at the most. The display flashes on and off as the other comments describe. There is an option for a 10 minute spin but it just carries on beyond the 10 minutes and has to be stopped manually. It's costing me £115 to have a Hoover enginer fix it. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Mike Tolley on 05/02/2011 I too have this machine for just over 1 year (just out of warranty) and the display flashes all sorts of codes, or nothing at all, if you keep trying eventualy it allows you to program the wash, and then it works, it appears from several websites I've looked at that it is the PCB and it seems to go wrong after 12 months. I won't be buying a hoover again. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Ian Jackson on 12/08/2010 Worked great for right on 1 year, then the program switch just keeps flashing different numbers, takes ages to get it to the correct number then it's fine for the wash. Would never buy a hoover again, some one I know has the same machine, also has many problems, again, just when the year was up. Just a thought, every Samsung product I have every owned has been fantastic, I know what I'm buying next... Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Clive Bannister on 26/06/2010 Trouble from the beginning..The door switch replaced within months, it's had program problems sometimes requiring 2 days switched off to reboot the software! Then to top it yesterday it died bigtime....I came home to a house full of smoke and some docile looking cats, presumably the smoke! On investigation the drum has melted away just above the motor spewing plastic on the floor along with the water that was in it at the time. I very surprised the fuse didn't blow as the motor was thoroughly soaked!!! All this from a machine less than 2 yrs old(Purchased Aug 08) Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Mike on 23/03/2009 Excellent washing machine. Quiet, easy to use, good load capacity, nice timer display.
