Purchased in 2006, broke after eight months, the control module burnt out. Same thing happened four months later. 2009 machine has been running trouble free since. However, wash quality is poor and inside of drum smells horrible. This was a £550 machine, I guess you are paying for styling and design over substance as it looks pretty in the kitchen. Customer Service and Support is poor, first call took seven days to get an engineer out, second call five days, engineer was ok but call centre terrible. The Baumatic name gives you a sense of buying quality, sounding a little Germanic, but once you inspect this machine you'll find cheap, nasty internals and the whole thing is made and assembled in China. A nasty product that should be confined to the scrap yard. Our previous machine was a Hotpoint that ran for twelve years, only needing bushes replacing twice, should have stuck to what we knew. I don't recommend this product.

New MEGA6SS bought in October 2002. Replacement supplied by Baumatic in March 2003 after the original "twisted" the door to drum rubber seal TWICE. New unit lost one of it's plastic drum paddles in April 2006. This I replaced at my own cost @ £3.50 each. Then horror of horrors, the machine started to make a very loud banging sound during it's spin cycle on Tuesday 16th May 2006 AND nanaged to score and tear the rubber door/drum seal. We can not use the machine now. Have to wait until Wednesday 31st May 2006 for the engineer who covers our area to come and have a look. Not only is the machine of poor/abysmal quality but customer service response to out plight is equal to the machine's reliability. Do not buy under any circumstances.

Had achine 3 yrs in June stopped spinning after 12 mths.repaired under guarantee failed once more after another 10 months ,2 drum paddles have broken off in the last week and its now syopped spinning agin.previous washer an indesit that ran 10+years trouble free.Do not buy this piece of rubbish.bottom end quality for a top end price.
