Reviewed by Dianne Broughton on 05/04/2012 I had mine built in with the kitchen 4 yrs ago. Worked well for 13mths then started having problems, the motherboard went. Worked well until end of last year and had to have new drum, heater and pump fitted then in Feb '12 had to have new electrics to it..the wires had sheared inside the machine. I now have the problem of the filter not opening and a washer full of water. However, I do have extended warrenty,£8.99 mthly, a blessing! I was told last visit they don't make the drums for this machine anymore and would need to replace machine (which they would do for me!) When the dial clicks round, count how many times the light flashes..5 times then pause means there's a blockage. Got to admit it wasn't an expensive machine, maybe a lesson to be learnt there people, but mine is used twice a day. Probably wouldn't buy another Indesit but definitely buy extended warranty! Reviewed by Garry on 24/11/2011 Do not buy this machine! We had one installed in our rented flat about 6 months ago. I have to wash uniforms in it, and normally do them on a 60 wash, but had some heavy blood soiling on them, so did it on the 90 wash. It literally boiled my clothes! Water boils at 100 degrees C, so it must have been higher than that. Steam was spewing out of the door and has warped the dispenser drawer. The power button stuck in when I tried to turn it off. Now the door won't open, and I have clothing stuck inside. That's a lot of issues with a machine that's less than a year old. This machine is not safe. If I hadn't caught it in time, the steam would've warped all the kitchen worktop above the machine. Indesit ought to be ashamed to sell such poor quality machines. Rating:
Reviewed by Lisa on 17/09/2011 Had my machine for 4 & a half years and it has been brilliant and I have to use my machine every day which is a lot more than the average family, only today have I experienced a problem with the door not opening, I think the handle simply needs replacing of which I will have a go at myself by threading through some string or wire to try open it then purchase a new handle to try replace myself, then if that does not solve the problem I will buy another one the same and keep this in my shed for spare parts! Reviewed by s_tilly2002 on 15/09/2011 New machine 2007. 2009 selector dial kept turning & turning. Cost £45 for a new dial which didn't resolve the problem. So then a new heater element was fitted which was at an extra cost of £69. 2011, same problem. New heater element fitted with no change, new selector dial fitted, again no change. Stuck with a machine that won't wash or dry & have just paid another call out charge of &48. Informed Indesit can be called to mend it at a charge of £146 minus the call out charge. Don't think I'll bother. New machine will be more financially viable in the long run. Rating:
Reviewed by Sam on 02/12/2010 I too had the problem with the dial just ticking round by itself. Yes the dryer steams creases into the clothes and you cant iron them out. But you can replace things quite easily your self if you have the time and paceince. We have replaced the bearing as none of them last and the counterweight support too for little money from spares web sights. I cant believe they still make them? Rating:
Reviewed by debbie on 06/11/2010 worst electrical appliance ever bought! acted up 13 months after installation (26 days after guaratee expired) Rang indesit who were totally unsympathetic and wanted to charge ridiculous fee for call out and repair so rang independent engineer .Since then had numerous problems-Cant use drier as it boils clothes as opposed to drying them -Dial often clicks round and will not go on to any cycle-Presently it will only wash on "silks" but at least it is doing something!! Saving for new washer and it wont be an indesit/hotpoint .Load of c--p.BEEN WELL RIPPED OFF Rating:
Reviewed by Tracey on 26/07/2010 I have had my machine for 4 years and I can't fault it (integrated version). The short wash cycle is great and only takes 40mins and I also think the ieada where you can alter your temp settings for each wash is brilliant. Rating:
Reviewed by fedup on 26/06/2010 worst washing machine ever. Door wont open, there are lots of people with problems with the door locker Rating:

Reviewed by keagan on 16/01/2010 the worst machine imaginable, unresponsive and prone to break downs. The drain cycle refused to work so i had to open the door with buckets ready to collect all the water. I threw it away right after that. Rating:
Reviewed by Andy on 20/12/2009 Avoid like the plague... After 14 months old the machine would not advance onto rinse mode. The dial started to spin. Called Indesit and the wanted to sell me a 12 month cover plan for £160 and they would sent out an engineer. Or pay £104 for it to fixed with 3 months cover on repair. 3 months says it all..... In street talk the brand name says it all.... INIT SH.T Rating:
Reviewed by JULIE on 13/08/2008 Load of rubbish. Do not buy. The drier part is far too hot. The clothes come out so hot you can't handle them and they are all creased beyond ironing. Ridiculous that you buy a washer/drier and can only use the washer part. Never again. Rating:
Reviewed by C Wallace, Manchester on 09/08/2008 TERRIBLE machine!! Dryer failed to switch itself off, no cut-off switch, continued to heat up machine, resulting in a warped kitchen worktop and doors, and melted entire front of machine... Indesit repair man very impolite and dismissive of my safety concerns, and expensive....WOULD NEVER BUY INDESIT AGAIN!!!! Rating:
Reviewed by J PRESTON on 30/06/2008 Worst Machine we have ever had. Control panel gone after 15 months.Gets stuck on a programme and will not move on to rinse or spin without switching off and re-programming. Approx £200 to repair. Complete waste of money! Rating:
Reviewed by marilyn evans on 30/06/2007 DONT BUY ive had this washer for 14 month and the bearings have gone ,phoned indesit up they want 69.95 call out plus parts and laber ,phoned 4 local washer repair men up they say indesit is well nown for this problem ,they all have told me to get a -----(no advertising), indesit say i should have taken the 5 year cover what costs as much as the washer dryer,i say a new washer should last longer than just over a year Rating:
Reviewed by Jeanette on 10/04/2007 Load of rubbish this machine is -control module broke down at just over a year old so of course Indesit were not interested unless I paid a lot of money for them to come out and repair it so called in an independant engineer who came and checked the machine out thoroughly and then put a new control panel in and the machine then went loony and would still not work but I suppose at least it was switching itself on now whereas as before it was totally dead - engineer has now gone off to try and solve this problem for me. How can such a new machine break down so quickly? Rating:
