Reviewed by Caroline on 29/03/2011I bought mine about a year and a half ago, it has just broken down. I put it on dryer setting and went out, came back in to find it half full of water and refusing to pump out. As such I have clothes held hostage in the machine until a engineer can come and empty it and open the door!! The dryer is appauling and takes so long to dry clothes. A condenser or vented dryer would dry in half the time, if that. The noise when it is spinning is VERY LOUD, I have an open plan living area and have to put the machine on when we go out or at night when we are all upstairs. I regretted buying this contraption soon after it was delivered, now looking like I am going to have to buy another machine - NOT HOTPOINT! Rating:   Reviewed by Trueblue on 20/01/2011 AWFUL! Drying times and water wastage are outrageous. If you must buy one of these awful waher/dyer machines I would recommend you go for an alternative model. Our machine was only two years old when it flooded the kitchen out due to a faulty inlet solenoid and the dryer element has now burned out. I've replaced it with a Bosch for roughly the same price. Twice within the warranty period and a further four times under the extended warranty which we took out because we suspected it was a Friday afternoon job. Several times the problem has been a loose wire, the same loose wire each time! Do not buy one!! We have contacted Hotpoint and been given the usual fob-off answer. Will never buy a Hotpoint again. Noisey Unreliable mine has broke down when its just out of garantee about 13 months old. Not recommended to buy this model. Absolute rubbish. Rating: Reviewed by O'Hanlon on 12/02/2009 We had the previous Aquarius washer dryer which was excellent. This one is not an improvement. The standard wash cycle takes ages and although the cotton washes are 7kg, the other programmes take 3kg or less. I used to wash all my clothes on the more delicate wash on the old machine to save doing 2 loads but I can't do this now as the delicate wash only takes 1.5kg!!! Also, a few times the clothes have not been clean - even on the 7kg wash - it is also very nosiy. I regret buying this model and would not recommend it. Rating:
