Reviewed by Ian J on 10/08/2011 Have the same fault as others below. Select a dry cycle and it fills with water. Select any wash programme and it randomly does its own thing during the cycle. Avoid. Rating:
Reviewed by Paul on 26/05/2011 I had the same problem wit hthe thing just doing whatever cycle it liked, I put up with it until today- i took the top off and removed the cycle selector switch and took it apart and cleaned the contacts. works ok now- (watch out for the capacitors- (they hold a good charge!) Rating:
Reviewed by Sean S on 11/03/2011 I read the latest 2 reviews and burst out laughing - I dont know why, because I totally agree !! I have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting the dryer to work. Rating:
Reviewed by Catweazel on 12/01/2011 Programme selection has been unreliable from the outset. Likely cause seems to be the programme selector switch which is cheap (about £10.50) and easy to replace. Rating:
Reviewed by Pauline S on 07/01/2011 This must be the worst washer/dryer ever! Every time I switch it on to dry I wait to see which program it will decide to run, maybe a drain or usually filling with water for another wash. I spend my life screaming at it. Rating:
Reviewed by N Rey on 15/06/2010 If I could give it 0 I would. Has this machine for just over a year, have already had the engineer out for a dial fault, now a couple of months later the same problem again. What happened to long lasting appliances? Rating:
Reviewed by C Mittermuller on 13/06/2010 Had this machine for 2 years, always had a problem with the programme dial. The other day it started banging about and making an awful noise, then the dryer didn't work, my hubby took the top off to discover all the bolts wwere missing and had worked there way to the plastic dryer component and it was full of holes! How had these bolts come loose if the machine was correctly assembled? Will never buy HOOVER again, total waste of a lot of money. Rating:
Reviewed by J Shaw on 20/05/2010 Have to agree with most of these reviews. Since I got the machine (a year and a half ago) the dial has never been correctly alligned. In the last two weeks the programme setting has had a mind of its own and is getting progressively worse. In fact, I now have the same problem as one of the other reviewers - it keeps defaulting to the 15min extra spin programme regardless of what programme is selected. Rating:
Reviewed by M Reed on 07/05/2010 This machine is absolute rubbish. Regardless of which setting you use it has a mind of its own. I bought one for myself and one for my son for his new home. Both stopped working completely after 13 months. The dryer gave up on mine and the programme setting on my sons. Hoover offer 5 years parts but charge £110 for a call out. They also wanted to charge £159 for one years extra warranty which they advised taking out as if the same fault they fixed happened again I would be still charged another £110 call out fee. I am going to replace both machines with another make and will never buy a Hoover again Rating:
Reviewed by A C Bowles on 23/04/2010 when i select a program and press the start button it keeps going to the 15 setting Rating:
Reviewed by geb6o8 on 23/02/2010 Totally a pain from the start. Have had the engineers out on numerous occasions even though the fault was there from the start.....faulty programme dial amongst other probs. It's so unreliable that after 13 months I am calling it a day.....just ordered a Zanussi instead. Rating:
Reviewed by JGLewis on 26/12/2009 We decided to get a new Hoover after our old one bust from old age, and my god I wish we never bothered. The first one was dropped from the delivery van and had to be taken back, the second one has been repaired so many times I think only the outer shell is original, and tonight we opened it only to flood the bloody kitchen. These are the worst machine we have ever had. Hoover should be in liquidation for daring to release this trash. Rating:
Reviewed by george p on 21/10/2009 bought the hoover product from currys 23 months and this year alone had the engineer out 4 time latested time was 20/10/09 and was informed the main bearing was gone and water had got into it and also had another time put in and told us the dial marking were out of line and going to take 3 hours to repair so i have decided not to go ahead as it like a factory rebiuld so i would not rate hoover or currys after care services and insurance after all u get a 5 year one with hoover so we were conned Rating:
Reviewed by Steve G on 01/02/2009 10 months old and has now totally packed up..I am trying to get the engineer out. It has had a mind of its own for a while in anycase. Its performance is disappointing. I would not buy another Hoover machine. Rating:
Reviewed by alan ward on 22/03/2008 Machine worked reasonably for 14 months but has developed a fault that engineers do not know how to fix involving computer board . Had to give up and buy another brand - cost £400 new plus wasted repairs so not happy Rating:
Reviewed by david morgan on 30/12/2007 Had this about 4 weeks and it has been in constant use - easy to use and good value. I will repost after a few months with updated status Rating:
Reviewed by Stephen Bull on 11/11/2007 Don't buy one of these Hoover washer/dryers, I have had two delivered and they have both been faulty. Clearly Hoover dont have any sort of quality control otherwise the two i had been sent wouldn't have made it out of the factory. I'll describe this appliance in two words "UTTER RUBBISH" if i could give it a minus score in the ratings i would have!!! Rating:
