Reviewed by L Willton on 28/04/2011 Cannot fault it. Lots of suction ALL the time, well made and tackles any job. Why use bags?. When the bucket is full...empty it!. Much better in every respect than a Dyson or Henry. Rating:
Reviewed by captain suck on 05/08/2010 Bags are available via several internet based companies via a very quick search... Rating:
Reviewed by daniel searle on 01/01/2010 i have used this for about 4 yeears and have never used a bag. iuse it at work and have found no lose in power. being a plasterer it has had a lot of use. Rating:
Reviewed by Sucky McSuck on 12/08/2009 Seems that the majority of reviews on this site claim difficulty obtaining bags. Presumably they did get them or they would have said that it was impossible to get them..... How is it then that nobody bothered to tell us where they eventually did get their bags from ? Rating:
Reviewed by Shaun Connolly on 05/05/2009 never used a bag since i had it over 2 years. Got it from B & Q as well and had no problems. Yes emptying the vax can be messy but if you empty it regularly its not a mess. As for filters, i was them and let them dry out. still using the first ones that came withit. For the price you have a good vax. spend 4 x more if you want perfection. be warned i have a dyson of that type and its worse and you have to get it serviced regularly, very costly. Rating:
Reviewed by sharon morris on 14/12/2008 how hard is it to get new bags, you cannot get them anywhere. I have even ordered them from our local suppliers and have received the incorrect bags twice!!!! also how noisy is it. Bring back by old henry he was fab. Rating:
Reviewed by TR on 22/02/2008 The lead and hose are too short, the tools are laughably flimsy, and the consumables are almost impossible to buy, and expensive when you find them. But things are even worse... It was sold in B&Q (at the time I bought it) as an exclusive - but I've never been able to get a B&Q store to provide the bags. Try using it as a bagless, as advertised, and you end up with a filter clogged with dirt (why on earth is it hairy on the outside??). Emptying it and cleaning it is not a job for the faint-hearted, or the allergic! I tackled Vax on this, and they said I should use a paper bag for fine dirt - but it doesn't say this in the minimalist instructions. They wouldn't replace the main filter, but did provide some bags (so someone's got some) - which burst, they are so very flimsy. I understood from B&Q's brochure that this was a cleaner suitable for heavy, workshop type jobs. BE WARNED - IT'S NOT. If you want a good solid domestic cleaner - try a Henry (my plumber neighbour tells me he used and abused one of these for years on professional jobs). If you want a workshop cleaner, then you'll have to look further than this aweful thing from Vax. Rating:

Reviewed by MCHL on 08/01/2008 If you think getting the bags is hard enough, try getting a replacement filter - not even available on VAX website - so I rang them. Yes sir £19.99, what? £19.99 for a filter. This is a great machine let down by the company trying to rip you off with outrageous costs for spares (bags included). Get a Henry. Rating:
Reviewed by M. Watterston on 09/08/2007 Really happy at first using it. When the paper bags were used up I placed the dust bag temporaly whislt trying to source out which store would have the paper bags in stock. To my surprise noone seemed to have them until I popped into B&Q which had a section indicating replacement bags for all use of VAX. Total disappointed to find out that they don't fit. Phoned the helpline - to be told that it can only be purchased on line for 5 bags at £9.99 excluding delivery charges of £3.99. I find this totally outragerous. This has put me off completly and I'm purchasing another hoover by the end of today. Rating:
Reviewed by Frances Mansfield on 24/05/2007 Like others before me was extremely pleased when first used it. Very powerful and easy to use. But then when it came to replace paper bag, the suppply that we had bought with it ,although stating on bag that they were suitable for this model, did not fit.Did get a refund on bags but not much consolation when now it is such a performance to empty dust bag as have to get a hard brush and brush off felt etc thus causing dust cloud which goes everywhere. If manufacturers could listen to their customers perhaps they could tell us where we can buy, with confidence , a simple product that would redeem this model, then it could receive the good comments that it deserves. Reviewed by M Hudson on 18/03/2006 I bought one of these last year. Everything was going fine until i needed
to buy replacement bags. Could I find them anywhere?? Not on your life! I had to buy a bag for a similar model and somehow fit it in place. But whenever I hoovered, dust would end up outside the bag. Which has now created problems - big time! The hoover is extremely loud when i switch it on now. I've cleared the motor filter and made sure the bag is in place, but it doesn't make any difference. I can also see that dust has got through the motor filter. No doubt it will stop working soon, which for a
hoover less than a year old, i'm not impressed about at all. I've lost the
receipt, but i'm still tempted to take it back to the shop and complain!
The moral of this story - don't buy a hoover until you seen how easy it is
to get hold of replacement bags!! Rating:
Reviewed by A fearnley on 03/11/2005 Although I have found this hoover to have excellent suction I find it quite difficult to find replacement bags. Rating:
