Reviewed by fred mallone on 11/04/2011Had this for a few years after only ever owning uprights and have been very pleased with its performance. HOWEVER - it is VERY heavy to carry up and down stairs and whilst nothing wrong with the motor, suction etc, the durability of the plastic casing/hosing connections and hinges to tools compartment etc are another matter altogether...ours is now held together with bits of duck-tape! Looks like it's been in a war-zone... (p.s. I but generic bags on0line - much cheaper given the admittedly high fill-up rate!) Rating:   Reviewed by teckno on 01/03/2011 Bought a miele after a couple of dysons and there is no comparison.Picks up pet hairs easily very powerful suction and doesn't break after 5 mins currently had for 3 years and no problems at all, definitely recommend. Rating: Reviewed by martinp on 18/07/2010 This was the worst vacuum I've ever had. Lasted a couple of months after guarantee before it, the motor, died. It was deemed to be an un-economic repair. It worked out therefore a rather expensive £15 a month. Rolls-Royce of vacuum cleaners?-I don't think so. Gone back to previous AEG vacuum- still going strong after 15 years!! I really like the 'quiet everyday use setting' for picking up cat litter late at night without disturbing the neighbours. The person who designed this cleaner must have lived with animals. My only slight quibble is the high cost of bags, which seem to fill up more quickly that with my old cleaner. Perhaps when all the embedded dirt is removed from my carpets the bags won't fill up so quickly.
