Reviewed by Des Mapps on 12/06/2008The problem with this cleaner is that the output air filter gets rapidly clogged. So there is a reduced suction and the motor overheats. The thermal cut-out operates after about 3 minutes to switch off the cleaner. It cannot be switched on again until the motor cools down again in 15 minutes time. The original bagged hoover cleaners had a very large surface area of bag to allow the air to pass through. By going bagless, hoover have tried to make an output filter with a large surface area from a folded paper filter. This is obviously too small a surface area and clogs up rapidly, given the poorly performing 'cyclone' action in this cleaner. I am an engineer and it is obvious to me that it is a serious design fault. Hoover should redesign this cleaner and recall all the ones in this family out there. Alternatively, they need to come up with a modified output filter and offer this as a freefit modification. I am actually working on a modification to my own cleaner. Then the foot peddle broke , , load of rubbish .all happened as the warranty expired i thought i'd bought a bargain as it was half price , i'd have been better off saving my money Rating: ![]()
