Reviewed by Yvonne Valentine on 23/02/2008 This dryer worked for about 1 year then the drum started making a terrible noise like it was going to explode. I have used it on and off for a further 6 months with the hope that switching it off and back on again the noise disappears. Last night it eventually would not stop and seriously, it sounds dangerous. I am no longer going to use and will never buy another whirpool tumble dryer. PS My whirpool washing machine has been excellent Rating:
Reviewed by Kevin - Gloucester on 26/09/2007 Product is not even 1 1/2 years old and product started to not dry towels properly on the cupboard dry and it started to make clicking noises and gradually got so noisy that you could have it on at night if you wanted to sleep that is. It did this for a while until the water stopped going into the container. I Stripped the dryer apart and found that at the front of the unit there is a unit that can be pull out behind the grill (once you work out how to open it) that needs cleaning if you do not clean it, it will get blocked and the water cannot get through. I also noticed that the fan wheel had two broken plastic sections. I removed them but now I have a big gap in the fan wheel and it's resolved the problem with the water and drying of the towels. It will cost around £20 to replace the Fan Wheel if I do it myself. Going by how long it took me to take apart and that is not including removing the section to get to the motor/Fan Wheel. It may take me hours to to do it and I am not even sure if it will cure the noise. Anyone else out there who has done this or knows what else may be causing the noise please post as it would be very helpful. Anyway if you do not want the same thing to happen to you then make sure you clean the box at the front regularly otherwise you may end up with the same problems as me. I have spoken to the shop about this and they said that they have had lots of problems with these six sense whirlpool products. As I have bought two whirlpool products Sense Dryer and washing machine and both have caused problems I don't think I will be sticking to Zanussi in the future as they have always been more reliable.
