Reviewed by The voice of treason on 12/05/2010 I've had mine for 18 months and never had a problem with the lid catch and I'm amazed that anyone can have difficulty opening the well designed lid. If anyone is unable to judge how much water is needed to make a cup of tea perhaps they shouldn't be left alone in the kitchen for their own safety. It is a little noisy but it's no different to any other kettle I've used, quieter than some. Rating:
Reviewed by Crinkmeister on 11/04/2010 Catch that holds the lid down very flimsy and is now broken. No spare part available, so that means a whole new kettle for want of a stupid bit of cheap plastic. Poor design. Rating:
Reviewed by Phi; on 22/02/2007 This kettle has looks quite smart but has 2 major faults. Its very noisy - I have to turn the kitchen radio up a lot to hear it over this kettle. Secondly, the water level gauge is next to useless. It is hidden behind the handle (allegedly so it can be seen by left or right handed users), but worse it starts at 0.5 litre so cannot use it for boiling one cup, and you can't see if there is water left inside without opening the lid and peering in. I find it easier to just pur out any thats in there into a cup, top up tha cup and pur it back in - an unbeleivable chore compared to just filling my old kettle to the 1 cup mark. The lid is difficult to open and almost impossible to open without scalding yourself when its boiled. Not only that, but it won't stay open by itself. Rating:
