Kettle works well..but some issues. The unusual design and illuminated water carrier are modern and attractive. The reheat feature with flashing lights around the base to alert the user are novell...and works well for a house where the kettle is rarely cold. Ours worked well for 3 months. The reheat feature continues to operate but the lights no longer illuminate. The latest development is much more serious. The handle now gets hot and wisps of smoke accompany a pungent smell as something in the handle overheats. Given that the kettle is "off" this could be very dangerous. Overall I'd recommend the kettle but keep your receipt in case this is a trend!
