I have just bought an Indesit TFA 1 fridge. Thermostat did not work properly and did not keep to temperature. Replaced. Faulty ice box, dented/smashed in. Replaced. 3rd one, top lifting up and won't flatten as some bump underneath. Where bottom shelf in door fits, fitting is broken/smashed in. Thermostat again not very good. They don't appear to check the thermostats obviously.

I have been using Indesit fridges since the late 1960's without any problems until the TLA 1 UK which stopped working just outside the 1 year guarantee period. Engineer charged £20.00 to tell me that the fault is not the thermostatm but most probably the compressor, so the unit is not worth repairing. I also have an Indesit freezer, bought at the same time, and an Indesit washing machine about 3 years old which have been fine.
