Reviewed by Jason Bond on 07/07/2011 Has had electrical problems in the past but had it over 2 years now. The fridge side door pannel suddenly lost all its suction therefore all the cold air was being let out, and when the engineer came to have a look, he informed me it was because the door had buckled .. to replace is going to cost over £400 has anyone else had this problem ?? Reviewed by TAYLOR on 18/04/2011 THE FREEZER STOPPED WORKING AND AS A RESULT SO DOES THE FRIDGE, COMPLETELY USELESS AFTER 6 MONTHS, DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL OR MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALOT OF MONEY TO REPAIR OR REPLACE A FEW MONTHS LATER. Rating:
Reviewed by norman on 27/11/2010 the doors started rusting after a couple of weeks! Rating:
Reviewed by Phil Sleaford on 05/03/2010 We had 2 of the previous model which were both replaced under warranty due to a persistant electrical problem which was the units turned themselves off for no reason. This model was the 3rd one Smeg have given us and the doors started to show signs of rust after 5 months of use. Smeg agreed to replace the affected panels but whilst waiting for the repair the unit developed a further fault and the ice dispensers water pump did not switch off and flooded our kitchen. We are now awaiting our 4th unit as this also has now been written off. I can't fault Smeg customer service it has been faultless but it is a shame the products don't match this standard. Rating:
Reviewed by david pink on 10/06/2008 we took over this smeg 720x when it was 2 years old. we had been use to a GE american refrigeration unit. the GE was trouble free but the smeg has been a nightmare. none of the electronic controls work and the control panel lights continually flash. all of the houses in our small developement were fitted with the same unit and most have had problems. Reviewed by Tartan on 28/08/2007 The first one had to be replaced because it keep failing (beeper, water on the floor due defrosting). The second one has developed the same fault! I know of three others with the same unit have had the same trouble! Don't get this model is my advice - overpriced and of questionable performance. Rating:
