I purchased one of these fridge freezers when they were first advertised by hotpoint. Due to them advertising them before they had actually been produced I ended up waiting nearly 9 months for it but although not very happy I managed with my old leaking one because I thought it was what I was looking for and matched my 2 year old hotpoint washing machine ( which subsequently packed up at 2 1/2 years old( I now have a dyson which I have to say is brilliant and their customer service is second to none Hotpoint could learn a few lessons from Dyson) and dryer. When the machine actually turned up it worked for 3 months and then stopped. I lost a whole fridge and freezer full of shopping (which was done the day before it packed up) and when I called for the engineer the customer services were very unconcerned and said the earliest call would be the following week and following the visit the computer panel was taken away so I was 2 weeks without a fridge ( I had to go and buy a chest freezer to manage). The fridge freezer was subsequently fixed 3 times and then the engineer said it was ridiculous I couldnt put up with this and he ordered a replacement. I also claimed for the loss of food having kept the receipts and the packaging as advised. Hotpoint claim they will pay for the food lost within the first year but they gave me half the money and over the phone said I must have made up the amount of loss so practically calling me a liar. The replacement again lasted 3 months before packing up again and another load of food had to be thrown away (this time they would not pay out a penny) following yet another engineer visit i was told that it was a manufacture fault and they now knew how to fix it. The fridge freezer is now 1 1/2 years old and has packed up yet again resulting in the food all being thrown away. I WOULD NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING MADE BY HOTPOINT AGAIN ALL OF THE PRODUCTS I HAVE HAD ARE RUBBISH, THEY DO NOT HONOUR THEIR GUARANTEE AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM ARE MOSTLY RUDE AND UNHELPFUL. The only helpful people at hotpoint are the engineers. BE WARNED
