Reviewed by Kel on 18/09/2011Broke after a year & too expensive to repair. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Alan on 27/03/2011 I agree with all previous reviews. This freezer is very noisy and mine lasted just over 2 years. I will not be buying Hotpoint again. What a load of rubbish. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Keith on 16/02/2010 All the previous reviews are correct - this is a complete waste of money !! Our freezer died on us after two years and cost over £100 to repair. The drawers are difficult to pull in and out and the noise is almost unbearable - it sounds like we have a traction engine in the kitchen. The service engineer said this was just the normal operating noise. Will be quite happy when it breaks down again and I can take it to the tip. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Mark on 14/07/2009 So called 'system noise' is driving me mad! This is the noisiest freezer I have ever owned or seen. Apparently the noise is normal! Spend that extra bit of money and try to save landfill filling up with this tat. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by Ann Berry on 16/04/2009 Freezer FZA34. DO NOT BUY THIS APPLIANCE. I bought one in January 2008 and in March this year, after 14 months, it stopped working. I now have no freezer and have lost about £100 worth of food. Because I did not take out the additional 2-year warranty at time of purchase Hotpoint want £99 for coming to put it right. No local repair man will touch it. I have written twice to Hotpoint and the most they will do, after I have quoted "Sale of Goods Act" and talked about the Small Claims Court, is offer me the repair for a "nominal" charge of £75. The whole issue of extended warranties is a rip-off, particularly for a freezer. A freezer has practically no moving parts and if installed in accordance with recommendations, as mine was, with good air circulation all around it, should last a great deal longer than 14 months. I will NEVER touch anything by Hotpoint again. Rating: ![]() Reviewed by anne on 26/01/2009 I totally agree with the previous reviewer. this is exactly what happened to me . Customer sevice deptquoted me £100 to come out. I would warn anyonebuying this . Think again Rating: ![]() Reviewed by MW24 on 09/04/2008 This freezer gave up after just over a year, when the temperature became permanently high and food was not frozen. Customer service dept were not interested. Call out charge £89.99, payable in advance, even if the freezer could not be repaired. This is one to avoid! Rating: ![]()
