Reviewed by Nick on 13/03/2012 Same problem as previously reported where the top compartment is icing up, but in this case there are drips of ice all down the front of every drawer causing problems opening. I have had it from 2006 with no problems until now except a new door handle which cost a fortune. Rating:
Reviewed by L Munro on 21/01/2008 This is also the worst freezer I have ever had. Mine continually shows as high temp but by the time the light comes on all the food in the top 3/4 of the freezer have defrosted. The door does not close properly, again allowing all the food to defrost!!! On several occasions I have gone to work and its been fine in the morning but by the evening when I get home the food is starting to go soft. It has cost me a forture replacing food. Rating:
Reviewed by J Jones on 10/12/2007 This is the worst freezer I have ever had the misfortune to buy. I wish I had seen these comments earlier as the freezer is now out of guarantee! Within a few weeks I had ice building up and found that I had to continually clean it off. The door did not seem to be closing fully so I put a child lock on in the hope that this would rectify the problem but to no avail. I checked with a spirit level that it was standing level and that was ok. It seems as though the freezer is defrosting itself continually so every week I have to remove the build up of ice. Unfortunately, it is out of guarantee, but I know that I will never but another Hoover Freezer again and hopefully you won't after reading this!! Rating:
Reviewed by Edwin Farr on 21/03/2007 Yes I agree there is a design problem, I have it aswell. It became apparent after 6 months. An Engineer tilted the freezer back and we defrosted it and cleared the ice, 6 months later it iced up. Of course now it is out of guarantee. I am pursuing this with Hoover and Comet. No joy yet. If anyone else has this problem please contact me on 07860609279, maybe we can have a joi9nt action. Rating:
Reviewed by Al Paton on 20-04-2006 There is a design problem with this machine. The auto-defrost system does
not seem to work properly and the maintenance engineers cannot find the
source of the problem. The top of the freezer (supposedly frost-free)
keeps freezing up and this results in the freezer warming up. I've had engineers who accuse me of leaving the door open (not true), the compressor not working properly (but they fail to do anything about it) and poor seals (though the problem does not go away once the "holes" are filled with sealant). Do not but this freezer. Rating:
