The worst dishwasher ever. Handle okay but cuts out continually. The comments about the upper rack are spot on...which idiot designed this mess?

I hated this machine from day 1. so many broken glasses all falling over, have to use the plate racks in the bottom. Now the handle has snapped so cant use it at all. would rather replace than pay to get it fixed. next time I take glasses to the shops with me to try them in the racks!!

I have owned this dreadful dishwasher for nearly 2 years. It was to replace an old Zanussi dishwasher which lasted 12 years. This one will never last as long. I hate this machine so much. It does not rinse properly and has to be put on again ,therefore using double the amount of electricity. The racks are poorly designed.I don't think I would purchase a zanussi product again uin the future.

Zanusi zdf 231s Handle is still in tact but it has stopped heating the water so nothing cleans or dries. Trays are a poor design i think we have spent more on replacing broken glasses than the initial cost of the dishwasher in the last 3 years

my dishwasher is only 3 years ol model zdf231s and the handle has broken on the front of it as i see from some reviews this seems to happen alot

Our problem is that our ZDF231 has just stopped heating the water so nothing cleans particularly well and certainly doesn't dry. Handle still works though...

We've got a ZDF231 at work. Guess what? The handle's just snapped off the front (hence the fact that I've just Googled this machine and found out, it appears, every Zanussi ZDF231 falls apart). Incidently, someone at work has this machine at home and the handle's snapped on that one too.

I had the door problem as well. It was a pretty easy fix: Switch off the power. Open the door and unscrew the screws holding the upper control panel to the stainless steel door panel. Unscrew the 2 thicker screws holding the plastic catch/screw mechanism. Fiddle about until it clicks back into place - it is obvious how it works when you see it. Screw everything up tightly again. Shut door to re-engage the mechanism in the switch. Tah dah... Still a rubbish dishwasher, but I got it very cheaply, and it has worked fine up until now.

Iv had similar problem with the door. The plastic clip inside door has slipped and now the dishwasher wont go on. Lucky enough i got an engineer from comet to fix it when it was 11 months old. Worked a couple times after and now same thing happened again. Worst machine Iv had and wont buy another Zanussi.

It might be worth considering only eating off dolls' crockery as tiny little cups and glasses will probably fit onto the top rack. Not only is the top rack useless but the door doesn't stay down. When I checked it out at my local John Lewis store, surprise, surprise the Zanussi machine in their store had the same problem. However, JL aren't interested and say I should take it up with Zanussi.

totally agree with below handle snapped today - only 12 months old top basket designed by someone who doesnt use dishwashers - everything falls over cutlery basket rubbish worst dishwasher we have ever had - and we've had a few pay more and buy a bosch

Same problem as everyone else. Crockery is chipped in top basket and now handle, which has always been stiff to open ( fake latch is just a slot to yank open) has now snapped inside so door doesn't click shut. Quiet operation though and will live with it for now. If it stops working will replace with a beter model. had the macjhine only 3 months. Avoid.

Simelar to others - worst dishwasher we have had. Have tried many ways to load the top rack but still cant find a good system and have suffered many chipped items along the way. Our cutlary basket is almost unusable now as the base mesh keeps breaking away allowing items to fall through and stop the waterspraying arm from rotating. machine frequently stops itself mis cycle and often have to wash for a second time as rinse inadequate. Nasty mark on the front from the sticker!!!

Worst dishwasher I have ever owned!Had it just over a year. It has broken down twice. There is a valve inside the machine at the top left hand corner of the 'ceiling', if this is dislodged, which is easily doen as glasses or tall cups(if they manage to stay upright) can easily do this, it cuts the machine off. The handle has now sheered off, nearly severing my fingers!! yes glasses have toppled over,the design of the top basket is poor. luckily I kept the old cutlery tray from my old dishwasher as the Zanussi one disintegrated! Yes it took ages to clean the sticker residue off the front of the machine DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS MACHINE!!!!!I will never buy a Zanussi again!!!

The handle has snapped of the machine after just 13 months, which is conveniently outwith our guarantee and it's going to cost £21 for a replacement fascia (can't just replace the handle; you need to replace the entire front fascia). Because it requires the entire front to be replaced it requires rewiring, so I need an engineer to do the work. The labour is going to cost £60. Also had a multitude of glasses broken due to the rubbish design of the shelving on the top rack.

SIMLAR ISSUES HANDLE CRAQCKS 13 MONTHS AFTER BUYING GLASSES FALL OVER AND BREAK CUTLERY BASKET DISSOLVES AND HOW DO YOU GET THAT MASSIVE STICKER OFF THE DOOR. I HAVE A GREAT BIG MARK ON THE FRONT THAT WONT GO AWAY

Don't buy this product the handle snaps off the machine just after the 12 month warrantly runs out. It is extremely sharp and could cause injury. Zanussi do not want to know.

I am writing a complaint to the manufacturers..............glasses and cups fall over and break, the cutlery basket is disintigrating, and I can't get the big yellow sticker off of the front!

Top tray is really poorly designed for UK use. 5 'aisles' 3 of which are too narrow for anything but espresso cups.
