Reviewed by Grifford Jones on 18/01/2012 we have had this machine several years now & have had continuous problems, 3 heaters, 1 pump, circuit boards, fault codes f3, f4, f5, f6 luckily we took out an extended 3 year warranty & were able to extend that 2 more years, it has been repaired, then the same day another fault raises it ugly head,I have seen some of the the spares prices that have been fitted to this machine over the years, they are between 2- 300£ without the call out & labour each time, just as well I wasnt paying for them, it would have been scrapped years ago, now!!!! another pump F4 & another code F6 its time to go. I will never buy an expensive dish washer again, if I can get one for £199 that's the way to go, if it goes wrong after a year, throw it away & get another one Rating:
Reviewed by Justin Matthews on 06/01/2012 Fourth dishwasher we have purchased and by far the worst. Constant F7 problems and have now resorted to hand washing after only a year. Independent repairman has visited and laughed at our choice of brand... Spoke volumes! Have now ordered a Bosch as have had no problems with them before but were 'pushed' into this purchase by a Curry's salesperson. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again as their customer service is non existent. Rating:
Reviewed by Eve on 02/08/2010 We had our first July 2008. Never worked properly, & after various engineers who couldn't repair it, they agreed to replace machine Oct. 2008. We had various problems including "no power" we had to do many resets, F5 faults. Nov. we had 2 engineers, all electrical boards replaced. The Aquasteam setting which is supposed to have a varied time is always 4 hours plus with no heavy soiling. We still have had to reset at various times & we leave it sticking out with plenty of room at the back as it seems to prefer this. Aug 2010 it continues to fault "F6" which we are told is filters. They are clean & correctly in place. I cannot bear to go through this again & will never buy another Whirlpool. It appears too complicated for its own good. Rating:
Reviewed by Aidan on 21/03/2010 Similar to Jean's review, our experience has not been good. We had the same issue with the machine scaling up and had the same F3 code appearing before having engineers out twice during the warranty period. They again said the motherboard needed replacing, but this never fixed the machine. We have more recently had an independent engineer out who thought the ioniser was the issue and that this was probably never right from the start. Once out of the warranty period, you are then looking at an £85 call out charge if the engineers think the issue is unrelated to prvious works. Not the cheapest machine, and doesn't seem to be worth the extra money. Rating:
Reviewed by Kate on 18/06/2009 Bought this dishwasher a few days ago. The instructions are extremely difficult to follow and I still can't figure out how to use some of the additional programmes such as the extra steam. Also, unless your dinner plates are 24" diameter or less, you will not be able to fit them into the machine. I wish we had not purchased this machine. Rating:
Reviewed by Jean on 22/11/2008 The worst dishwasher i have ever owned! We bought this on the 5th August, it went wrong on the 6th Sept fault code F3 which is the heater, this was changed, on the 20th October the same fault occurred, apparently the engineer had been on a course and knew about the problem which is caused by using top of the range dishwasher powders and suggested we use value range? So we did this. On the 13th November we had a different fault, this time the machine which had actually only had 2 weeks use due to waiting for parts to arrive from Italy had scaled up - the engineer said this was a faulty motherboard not telling the machine to release salt. So today [22/11/08], we now have another fault - back to F3 showing in the window which well know by now as the heater has again packed in. So what help have Whirlpool been you might ask yourself? Not a lot, they refuse to change the machine or acknowledge there is something truly wrong with it. Disgusted! Rating:
Reviewed by Simon on 22/10/2008 This is our first dishwahser, and so far we're very pleased with the results. We've only had it two days, but it cleans the dishes well, even if there is burnt on food. The machine is also very quite - although we have nothing to compare it with. [Editor's comment: Trust me, Simon, you will know a noisy dishwasher if you hear one ...] Rating:
