The SDW80 Hotpoint dishwasher is very a poor. I have only had mine for 3 weeks, and it has yet to work. I haven't been able to get Hotpoint to respond to any of my complaints, which range from a constant alert saying the salt level is low, even though it's full and the water alarm constantly going off even though there is no leak.

Have given it an 'acceptable' 2 stars as it seems that looking at these proucts you realize that they are not designed to last long. We have had one for 3-4 years and gets fairly regular use. The electric control panel has gone haywire. I dread calling the helpline, and can't help thinking the easiest way to proceed is just bin it. Don't want to but there we go. Has been ok in terms of cleaning.

Has broken down twice in 18 months. The top basket keeps coming off the runners, the spoons in the holder are never cleaned properly. Bought hotpoint because of its reputation, never again.

I have had my dishwaster machine for 15 months, its starting to have a burning smell towards the end of cycle, so I have stopped using it, has anyone had this problem and what can it be.

Bought this machine 13 month ago now the heating element blew blowing my electrics the fuse did not blow in the plug dont no why. Stripped it down and it been on fire machine dangerous if you ask me.

This is the first and last Hotpoint machine I will wever buy! It does not wash the dishes properly and it broke down just out of guarantee and Hotpoint have so far spent 3 weeks trying to get a new part? It is the electronic control again as Ms Simpson below. I do not recomend this prodoct or Hotpoints customer service at all.

My dishwasher worked reasonably well for around 8 months then the elctronic control panel started to become unresponsive. It limped on for a further 4 months then broke down completely literally days after my yearly warrenty ran out. I bought an extended warrenty but the parts needed to repair the machine are out of stock so I have been waiting for 1.5 months for them to come in. The company still cannot give me a date. I am told by someone at Domestic & General Insurance that it is company policy to wait until they have negative stock of their parts before they even place an order. I was also told unofficially by the repairman that the electrical problem I experienced with my machine is not uncommon and that it was a particular problem with this model. I advise you yo choose another product.
