Reviewed by Tim on 14/06/2008 This is an atrociously poor machine. The temperature dial quickly gets greasy making it virtually impossible to turn once in use and it is not possible to close the lid without the basket in place creating obvious safety issues when resting chips between first and second frying. Build quality feels cheap and flimsy, particularly considering that this is a medium-priced model. The completely collapsable dishwasher-friendly design does not make up for this as there are much sturdier models out there, similarly priced with the same design (e.g. the last Morphy Richards fryer I had). Most significantly however, even using good-quality maris pipers it has proved impossible to make decent chips with this machine - i.e. soft in the middle and crisp and golden brown (rather than dark brown and soggy) on the outside - compared with other fryers I have owned in the past. A huge disappointment and complete waste of money. Rating:
