I have had my oven for just over 3 years and have always been totally happy with it. The large oven is a god-send for catering for my large family and parties, but the small oven is perhaps a little smaller than I had anticipated. I would advise potential buyers to check that their oven trays fit in first before committing. There have been 2 instances when I have had to call out the support services under it's guarantee and both times I have had an exceptionally efficient, no quibble service. Within the first month the inner oven door glass blew in (at 240C), causing mess but no damage and it was replaced within days. The second time was last week when the oven door seal had snapped and again was replaced within a week. I think that Smeg must have ironed out their customer service issues. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this oven.

I've had this oven for just under 5 years. Unlike the previous reviewer I have nothing but high praise for it. Superb for cooking large batches of cakes/biscuits/m&s party food etc. Even cooking over the large oven & small oven excellent for slow cooking of casseroles. Have to say the central hotplate is used for resting pots/plates rather than cooking so would prefer to have that as another 2 burners. Only problem, which is my fault for putting a full 6l cast iron stew pot on the open door, are the hinges which need to be replaced.

Having read Julia Ray's reveiw i have decided not to buy this oven. It is expensive, it is all singing and dancing< but if the support service is poor then I'm not interested

Heating element went 3 times with first cooker all in two years, when it went the fouth time they agreed to replace it, if we paid £300 as compensation to them for a new oven. Stuck bewteen a rock a,nd hard place I have a large family to feed and the fact that I bought the maching hood and stainless splash plate agreed to this plus them giving me a five year extended guarantee. This new cooker is now two years old and I am already on the second element. I have no faith whatsoever that it wont continue to blow elements and my electrics. DO NOT BUY THIS OVEN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! For an oven that cost £3000 with all the bits it is rubbish. It was my dream but now is a nightmare. Smeg do not care and I feel trapped as I cannot afford to buy another oven.
