Reviewed by Trevor Holdworth on 06/12/2011 Yet another Hotpoint clock failure. Hotpoint themselves simply aren't interested. Steer well clear of this unmitigated disaster. Anyone from Hotpoint like to comment? Rating:
Reviewed by M. Addison on 16/10/2011 Ours is also less than 2 years old. After starting to flash, the clock is no longer visible, and we also turn ours of at the wall due to it making a clicking noise. very disppointed :-( Rating:
Reviewed by mrs m on 10/01/2011 I too have a clock that is now not visable!! as with the other reviews it started to flash about a year after buying it (3 years ago) and then the numbers slowly faded untill gone, it means that i can no longer time how long my food is being cooked for. this is a fundermental flaw in this product and i will not buy hotpoint again after also having a hotpoint washing machine break after only 2 years service!!! Reviewed by MISS A on 28/10/2010 Bought cooker in Jan 09. The clock started flashing and then began to fade, it is now not visable at all ! The cooker also makes a clicking noise and we switch it off at the wall when not in use. We called Hotpoint who were not very helpful and told us it would cost £104.00 to send out an engineer, as we didnt take out the extended guarantee. Not very inpressed and Hotpoint dont give a **** Rating:
Reviewed by Mr MH on 15/09/2010 i too can confirm that the clock starts to fade and then goes out completely plus a clicking noise when not in use, have to switch it off as its annoying. not buying hotpoint anymore. Rating:
Reviewed by Mr Mr on 15/08/2010 Looking at previous reviews I can confirm noisy fan and clock digits failing. Fan is not a worry as it confirms it is functioning. However, the digits started flashing after a short time and are now so faint that we can hardly read them. Struggle to set the timer. CHEAP!!! Rating:
Reviewed by nicg00@aol.com on 20/07/2010 It is cheap, but buy cheap and expect problems. Rating:
Reviewed by Matt Freeman on 07/05/2010 Purchased this cooker to replace an old Hotpoint cooker (20 years old) This cooker has a very noisy fan which simply describes makes a wurring sound. Hotpoint say this part of the design and is a common call to the service line. If they send out an engineer and there is no fault they will charge £47.00. The call centre person could even hear the noise on the phone call and said it was normal. I read most reviews before purchasing this and it was not mentioned but it is something to be aware of if you dont wont to have to turn your radio up if you are cooking at the same time. Rating:
Reviewed by Carol Baker on 03/12/2009 Our EW74 6 months old and paint lifting around ceramic hob also the digits in the clock are starting to fail this cooker has a very poor build quality, keep your money and buy something else Rating:
Reviewed by Nicolas Goldfinch on 07/12/2008 The cooker is a good one, but you will pay for the knobs. They break easily. I'm a practical person, and taking the knobs off to clean, (and you will need to take them off to clean the front), however careful you are, they will break, and they aren't covered under hotpoints first year warranty. It cost us around £20 for three knobs. One of the replacements broke yesterday, ...just because it isn't fit for purpose. Sorry Ho...hotpoint (you don't deserve a capital H) People need to know! Don't buy hotpoint. Rating:
