Reviewed by Nick J on 30/08/2009 I have had the same problem with the plastic lugs on the drive side of the housing breaking. This is clearly a design fault that should have been remedied...or a manufacturers' recall. As others have said, the cost of a new housing is over £100 and frankly, how long would a new housing last? I will be very reluctant to buy Atco products in future Rating:
Reviewed by Lee F on 26/07/2009 I have given this product a 3 rating of good, because I have had this machine for 8 years. It is easy to use & gives a nice finish. However I have recently experienced the same fault as the other reviewer, and like they say, the only option is too replace the deck at the cost of 50% of a new machine. I tried to repair mine (unsucessfully) and so will now consign mine to the recyling bin & be buying either a Honda or a Hayter to replace it with. Hope this helps. Rating:
Reviewed by T Pacey Nottingham on 13/07/2008 I bought my Admiral 16s around four years ago no problem at all until today 08/07/08 when the plastic deck which the rear roller is fastened to with two self tapping screws which go into plastic lugs broke. It is now contantly in drive mode. The deck alone is around £110 + vat and plus the cost to have it repaired by a dealer versus the fact that this is around 50% towards a new one, which does not seem to be a good way forward and hence it appears to me that this fault is down to poor design. Your comments on this would be appreciated and whatever you can suggest to help overcome the costs of the repair. Rating:
