Reviewed by Austin Wood on 19/03/2011 I bought my Ascona 570 at the start of last season and have nothing but praise for the grill. A friend of mine had had an Outdoorchef for some years and said he would never buy anything else, he was always boring me about this no flare up, no burn funnel system.! After trying his for myself at a BBQ in 2009, I was hooked, I wanted one. Trouble was I couldn't find anyone who sold them in the UK until I found World of Power of Buxton on line. Excited was an understatement, not only did they have the the Ascona in stock but they had a choice colours, blue or black, I went for blue. A rain cover was thrown in for free. Delivery was free and prompt, it arrived with me 2 days later safe and sound on a pallet. It took me about an hour to assemble, with tea breaks a the odd phone call but it was very straight forward with easy to follow instructions and more importantly all the bits and bobs are on a bubble pack card and numbered. My cooking skills have come on leaps and bounds since owning the 570 and I use it all year round, it's easier to clean than previous bbq's and the only negative I have is the the drip pan on the bottom could do with being bigger. Other than that 11 out of 10. Rating:
Reviewed by Phil Hurford on 06/03/2011 I was a sales agent for Outdoor Chef way back when they first set up & was given a Classic Kettle 570 to use. We have used our barbecue at least 3 times every week for the last 10 years. We hardly ever use the oven for meat. It is still a fantastic barby - we've had to change the burner and baffles once and the ignition no longer works but we still use it all the time. We emigrated to NZ 8 years ago and brought it with us. Out here there are loads of fancy barbecues on the market but none of them is as versatile as our CK570. Rating:

Reviewed by Andy Rhodes on 14/12/2010 The Outdoor Chef is a premium priced barbeque but is worth every single penny ! I have been using for around 15 years and now have the latest Ascona with twin burners and hinged hood. No hesitation in recommending this superb machine. Rating:
Reviewed by gary tritton on 30/10/2010 over the last year the burner has burnt larger holes in the ring, and the flames are causing black smoke on the food, cameron.easton@fsmail.net is supplying a new gas ring, I,m sure this will solve the problem, great value too.Use it every day to cook 365days a year it is "Brilliant" Rating:
Reviewed by Roland on 15/08/2010 I have had mine for over 16 years, it was one of the first 4 prototypes and hand made in the uk. It is one of the best BBQ designs ever. Mine needs a new top baffle and gas burner hence finding this site. Glad to hear other oc's are still going strong. Rating:

Reviewed by john fowler on 15/06/2010 I have had a classic 570 the last 12 years and it is the best bbq ever but in the last 6 months i have tried to get parts (burner ring new cones) without any luck.difficult to find any UK distributor i am told that there are none. Great pity. Rating:
Reviewed by Andy Rhodes on 11/06/2010 Strange to hear the comment about "chinese manufacturing" which I find hard to be believe is true. My latest Ascona 570MX has a German build feel to it. Much better engineered than my original OC to the extent I can understand the increased price. Look at the other comments about the new ones and guage who is right? Rating:
Reviewed by Hardy on 26/05/2010 the best BBQ design ever - great for meat, fish and brilliant for paella. Unfortunately marketing and distribution in the UK is poor - hard to find access on internet and spare parts take weeks. A real pity - sad to say, but I wish we had an American company marketing this example of great product design. Rating:
Reviewed by Roy Ellyatt on 24/04/2010 Purchased my Classic from Chelsea Flower Show 16 years ago. Just about still going but had to replace the cones last year with home made stainless steel single cone. Burner and grill now rotting so probably last season. Disturbed to hear about Chinese manufacture and wouldn't trust the quality. Shame - the best barbie ever in my view. Rating:
Reviewed by Chris Simmonds on 11/04/2010 We have just replaced our Ascona after about 6 years of constant use. We do not cook any meat or fish indoors we use the B.B.Q. as an oven .our new Ascona was purchased from Cameron Eastern who provides a really good service. There are now 3 Asconas in my family and the new model is a good improvement on the old model. Rating ***** Rating:
Reviewed by Anders on 10/03/2010 I will complain at the really poor quality of this product.Today they are manufactured in China and with no quality control at all. Mine is not a year yet and all stainless steel parts are corroded (have been stored under a roof). Even the enamelled parts have started to corrode and I guess that the bare metal was corroded from the beginning before it was enamelled. I think that this product will leave the market quite soon and in Sweden a lot of stores have stopped selling them. It is sad when a company just want to earn money and move the manufacturing to China with bad product as result. Rating:
Reviewed by Stuart Aldridge on 25/02/2010 Many thanks to Andy Rhodes for his tip ref Cameron Easton. After having using Outdoor Chefs for the last 16 years the original came from the Feltham Middlesex site, picked up others from various locations in the the UK. Now the owner of a new Ascona 570, after my last Classic 570 burner fell to bits. A different style of cooking but with fantastic results! Cannot rate these Grills highly enough! Cameron Easton does a great service - ordered on Friday cooking steaks on Wednesday. Rating:
Reviewed by Andy Rhodes on 19/12/2009 I have just got a new replacement Ascona 570MX after more than 12 years with my original. The new ones are brilliant with twin burners and hinged lids and appear to be more engineered than the old ones. While no one appears to be selling them in the UK I did finally find the UK agent after checking out the Outdoor Chef website and Distributors and Partners in the International section. The guys name is Cameron Easton and he also does all spares as well, cameron.easton@fsmail.net Rating:

Reviewed by Jules Tielemans on 04/08/2009 I own my Classic Kettle 480 for 7 years now and I am stll stisfied, only.... since a few months the flame is not what it has used to be: the flame is yellow insted of blue and sooty the funnel. I am still using propane gas as before! Anyone some suggestions? Rating:
Reviewed by Christian Costemalle on 27/10/2008 I have been using that Outdoor Chef Classique for nearly 11 years without a glitch until a few weeks ago, that is, when some parts rusted too much and rendered the kettle unable to deliver enough heat. It is truly an amazing machine once one has got used to it. It is not to be used as an ordinary barbecue though. It does take a little time to forget you barbecue habits. No longer do you need to keep tossing around your meat and veggies. The heat being very even and circular, you can set the temperature, install the food to be cooked on the wide tray, put the lid on and only come back after the estimated cooking time. Et voilą. If you mix different kind of food to be cooked, some of it may take less time to be done. No problem: take that food out of the kettle sooner, and then put the lid back until final cooking time is reached. One way or another, your food will remain moist, golden and cooked to perfection top to bottom. Rust is the only annoying problem. I wish the company found a way to avoid it. Rating:
Reviewed by Dennis Jarmey on 14/06/2008 What a great product. Simple but supreamly efficient. I have had mine now for over 7 years and use it all the time and its never let me down. It stays outside and we even use it in the winter. It cooks anything even whole chickens really well too. I just can't fault it. It is much better than any of my friends barbies. It also cooks loads all at once, perfect for a large party. The cover now needs to be replaced though. I hope I can still get one the same. Rating:
Reviewed by Propane Pete on 03/06/2008 The Outdoor Classic Kettle is well made, with the only rust after six years forming on the chrome plated accessory racks. Bear in mind thogh that it cooks differently from traditional BBQs. You get an even, circulating heat which cooks the food through more gently, so is fine for chicken and kebabs. But it doesn't get as hot as I'd like from underneath, so you can't really sear steaks and tuna on the grill. Rating:

Reviewed by Roman Szwaba on 11/03/2007 Hard to say what you measure for excellent or outstanding. Anyway I use this barbie all the time. It's well buit, the ignition system works well. You can use it like an oven too. Mine is coming up to 2 years old now and has been stores outside and still works well and looks good too. Rating:
