Assembly was fiddly but straightforward - just don't do it when you need to eat in a hurry ! Construction is good and solid - it'll last. Cooking on it is easy - plenty of power and cleaning not too bad as long as you follow the instructions of leaving it on full blast for 10 minutes to burn off the deposits. The Barbecue Genius cookery book that came with it is great - lots of tasty recipes. Beer can chicken is fab - although for this sized BBQ you can't use a big chicken. Original cover is well worth having.

Having taken a staggering 4 hours to assemble our Gem, we were tired, hungry and frustrated at the length of time it took to get it ready for action - it was now 9.30pm, so we went back inside and used the conventional oven! Some of the instructions are unclear or ambiguous, almost prompting World War 5 between my wife and I (we've had WW's 3-4 previously!). We're just about to set the thing up for cooking, so stand by for a cooking review later! The 3 rating is based on the story so far, hopefully the cooking experience will gain a higher rating!
