These fantastic speakers arrived today, on the box it clearly states made in China, but please! Please don't let that put you off in any way. Opened the boxes, bi amped them with my audio lab 8000 amps and was just amazed at what I was hearing!. Great sound staging, fantastic range, outstanding and controlled bass. Delightful treble. What more can be said,? I have waisted so much money in the past on so called high end speakers, these are nothing short of a revelation! Please don't hesitate in purchasing these, they are so so good and the price,well in the past I have spent more than this on speaker cables what a fool I was, thank you Wharfdale, good work.!

The best set of speakers in the world! they look scary, but they produce fantastic cinema/dj quality sounds. Theses speakers are my pride and joy!!!! They are the first thing noticed at parties and really do make you feel amazing!!!! I love these speakers so much I even named them! Angelina and Julie! although julie has needed a new high frequency unit they are both running amazingly! I adore the sound they produce when I watch films as i feel like i am not only in the cinema.....Im in the film itself. They also make a fantastic depth of bass along with extreme loudness. All round amazing speaker system! A much have for all young men!

Hi i got some xarus 5000 speakers a few month ago off ebay for £150 and i am very pleased with them.They are connected to a Technics slpg 590 cd player & a Pioneer a300x amplifier. The sound this puts out is amazing with a massive amount of clarity which i was very shocked.The bass is very punchy and has good depth which you can feel.I would like to say i made a plinth with adjustable floor spikes and it made a good difference. Overall i will say they are very worthy speakers and sound very clear & detailed with good depth & punch.They sound mint with all sorts of music so who ever reads this needs to know they are worth buying.

excellent sounding towers.plenty of clean bass lines that just flow through the room,very clear sounding sperakers i will never change from the massive sounding wharfedale hifi speakers. I have a range of wharfedales all very good exellent value for money, nice one wharfedale.

Top speakers runnin them from pc external souncard in to pre and power amp , i use software active speaker management to sort out the frequencies eq and sub levels they sound superb on all types of music types i have listened to the jbl es100's and the cerwin vega ve 8's and these blow both of them away and cost less if you have got a good set up you cant go wrong with these .

Wow what can I say! the speakers have blown me away, got my speakers today and set up bi-wire on them...they sound great on my pioneer vsx-920 great price and great sound... buy buy buy......

Bought Three Pairs Of These From Hughesdirect , Running them on a pioneer VSX D2011 7.1 100 watts per channel.these speakers will blow the tiles off the roof.Superb for the money buy buy.30/1/2011.

Bought some as fronts for my home cinema setup around September. Bought another pair for rears in December. Got to tell you something hasn't it? :) nothing else for less than 3x the price will even touch it. if you can afford/justify B&W 683's, buy them. Otherwise buy these!

These speakers deliver Hi quality sounds across a wide spectrum of music. I am running them on a 60w Rotel amp and they defy the price well done Wharfedale !!

Bought a set of these last week for the AMAZING price of £150, nothing in this price range can come close! I previously had a pair of Eltax Concept 400's and these are in a different league. The midrange is very clear and sharp. Then there is the bass, lots of it but it never feels overpowering or out of control. Perfect! I listen to a range of music and these cope with the wonderful vocals of Lissie right through to drum and bass/dubstep. Everything sounds simply superb, low or high volume!

Wow! One amazing loud pair of speakers! The bass shakes the whole house, excellent for the most memorable of house parties! Superb for some dirty dubstep to be played through. Buy Buy Buy!!!

Got them from appollo the next day and running them on a pioneer vsx-519 130 wpc on 6ohms. Yes these speakers have a great kick for both music and movies. Whilst listening to r&b, house, dubstep you wont feel the need for a subwoofer unless its a 250W or more sub. For movies I ran bluray disks and they are spectacular and deliver a lot of detail that my previous 5.1 system wasn't able to, through only two speakers(xarus 5000). Even at low and high volumes the bass remains tight( depending on you amp or receiver). I haven't noticed any distortion in the sound even at max volume, which is scary!

Just aquired a set of these badboys £149.99 at apollo 2000.Running on a nad c 325bee amp with no problems although i would like more power(amp is rated @ 40 watts rms)just to have more control of the bass at higher levels.

The XARUS XR 5000 is great speakers not only for music but also for movies. I own a Pioneer VSX816 130w per channel amplifier in 7.1 setup. They really deliver in all tonal levels, the whole house vibrates in explosions of deep bass and the mid range punch is the best I've yet experienced. The treble is of excellent quality, all these speakers combined produce an excellent speaker of note. After listening to the 2 speakers I've acquired 2 more XARUS XR 5000's and a XARUX CENTER for a complete surround experience. They were most definitely worth the money spent.

they sound so so good! if ur thinkin of getting a pare do no hezitate. great deep base and sweet treble. nothing but cristal clear sound. u would think cos of the way they look the base will cover the rest of the sound, but they are so well put together. best speakers u can buy for that price and im sure they equal other much more expensize speakers. BRILIANT

i got a pare of these bout a year ago and iv never looked bk. i run them of a yamaha rx-v361 amp its a 5 ch amp 100 watts per ch and i dont get anything but crystal clear sound out off them, they are the best speakers iv ever payed for in my life. i run some hard hitting base music throgh them eg. base i love you by basetronics(i will warn you if you get this song and play it make sure you start with a low volume it will blow yr windows)im def going to get another set for the rear CANT W8. that said you cant get a better deal on them ether best money i ever spent

the best set of speakers u could buy 4 the money, sound quality is amazing for such big bass speakers. i run them off of a technics amp and have not had 1 problem. they are always crystal clear wot ever the volume and the base will blow u away. i strongly recommend u buy these if in search of a pair of loudspeakers.

I've had mine for over a year and run them on a Harman Kardon AVR 335 7.1 surround amp. When I purchased was looking for an affordable high-end set of stereo speakers. I listened to a good range and having been impressed with the general quality of wharfedale settled very confidently with the Wharfedale Xarus 5000's. I have not yet heard a pair of speakers within the price bracket that come close in terms of clarity and power. Whilst many manufacturers seek to deliver quality highs and punchy bass, the mids are often ignored - not so with the XR5000's! Beautifully detailed, yet warm low mids punctuate the quality, pristene highs and clear bass. Though thelaminate finish appears a little cheap and disappointing, my ears are very satisfied!

Face meltingly loud. At this price, its a steal. You simply wont find a pair as good as this. Sounds really fat when putting some punchy drum n bass through them, if your "entertaining guests" at 6am in the morning, these will get you dancing your tits off. You can really push them, ive got a 120 watt per channel amp and I nearly took my windows out today, sounded like a nuke had landed on my lap.

I have just bought a pair {wife not pleased}they look a bit tacky- but,for £150,if youre looking for big nasty party speaker you will not get a better buy.

WOW is the best way to describe these speakers. If your looking to break all the glass in your house then look no further. An ear melting 250W these speakers are an audiophiles dream. If you like music/parting or both these speakers are for you. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK Wharfedale

ive got a pair of the xarus xr-5000s ive got them rigged up 2 a marantz pm6700 ki model with a sony dvd n cd in1 and its sounds gr8 the speakers are brilliant av ad them 4 two years and they sound mint rich deep and loud bass they shake every wall in the house.
