Garmin StreetPilot 2720

The StreetPilot 2720 is a premium GPS automotive navigator that offers text-to-speech and traffic interface capabilities. Reviewed by Doug on 09/10/2006 Update to previous review:- Plus points:- after using the Garmin for a few months i have found it to be a unit of great potential, although not in this model. You are able to configure the screen to an unprecidented level. The Poi Database is the best of any sat nav that i have tried Minus points:- won't catch satalites very well, and when it does get some sats you only need to pass under a tree for it to lose them again, Will keep switching off for no reason, the speed camera warning has about half a mile radius so it's warning you of the next one before you even past the first one, also warns you of ones on other side of road, so it's going off all the time, very annoying The traffic info is bit sketchy in the UK, can't comment on other countries, hope this helps, Doug Rating:
Reviewed by Doug on 27-04-2006 Had this product just over a week, I find it very accurate especially on the poi's After migrating from the Tom Tom with it's frustratingly inaccurate map d/base, The 2720 is so configurable, Although I do find the screen a little on the small side it still manages to get more information on the screen than the tom tom, The speaker can be a little metallic, the text to speech is a little hard to understand sometimes but a couple of extra listens using the "speak" button usually clears things up, the auto
night mode is nice something else less to worry about, I think a little more work needs to be done on the "next turn pop-up" feature, that said this unit has so many good points and lots of things going on in the background that just pull this product above the rest, slightly Rating:
